The purpose of the Childrens Hospitals Graduate Medical Education (CHGME) Payment Program is to compensate for the disparity in the level of federal graduate medical education (GME) funding for freestanding childrens teaching hospitals versus other types of teaching hospitals. Federal funding for GME is primarily provided by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and goes to full-service teaching hospitals that serve primarily adult patients. Freestanding childrens hospitals receive little to no GME funding from Medicare because childrens hospitals have a low Medicare caseload. The CHGME Payment Program is administered by the Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The goal of USAID/Cambodias new five-year community tuberculosis (TB) activity is to accelerate TB case finding and case holding activities to maximize TB outcomes among Cambodians, including vulnerable populations such as Indigenous People. This Activity will build on USAIDs previous investments in community TB control, including the USAID Community Mobilization Initiatives to End Tuberculosis (COMMIT) activity, recommendations from the COMMITs mid-term evaluation, and lessons learned from stakeholders; and further contribute to the National TB Strategic Plan to End TB (2021-2030), World Health Organizations (WHO) End TB Strategy, and USAIDs Global TB Strategy 2023 - 2030. The purpose of the Illinois Violent Death Reporting System (IVDRS) is to develop a state-wide data repository related to violent deaths. This data will allow policymakers and researchers to analyze the causes and correlations of violent deaths to develop effective prevention policies and programs for the State of Illinois. The grant provides $76,700 to maintain and expand the IVDRS between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. Northwestern University has been directly appropriated these funds by the Illinois General Assembly.

The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) is accepting grant applications to provide intranasal naloxone to first responders in rural counties. Only first responders who provide services in rural counties are eligible to receive the naloxone doses. For grant purposes, “first responders” includes (professional and volunteer) firefighters, law enforcement officers, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, or other legally organized and recognized volunteer organizations that respond to adverse opioid-related incidents. Please email the naloxone program manager if you think your agency might be considered a first responder agency and is not listed. First responder organizations that receive naloxone doses will be responsible for administering the doses and reporting their use to IDOH through the required methods.

The purpose of this additional funding is to increase access to high quality family-centered HIV health care services for low-income women, infants, children, and youth, commonly abbreviated as WICY. HRSA intends funding under this program to support one short-term activity that can be completed by the end of the one-year period of performance. You may propose an expansion of an activity previously supported under the FY2023 or FY2024 RWHAP Part D Supplemental funding (HRSA-23-050; HRSA-24-061) or Part C Capacity Development funding (HRSA-23-052; HRSA-24-062) for either an HIV Care Innovation or Infrastructure Development activity; however, HRSA will not fund the same activity in FY 2025 as HRSA funded previously in FY 2023 or FY 2024. If the proposed project is an expansion of a previously funded activity, you must provide a clear rationale for how the proposed activity builds upon and furthers the objectives of the previously funded activity.

This grant provides $7.5 million to local organizations in Madagascar to strengthen public health surveillance, research, and data use, particularly in response to health security threats and outbreaks.

The activity seeks to achieve improved TB and HIV/AIDS client outcomes through supporting community-led monitoring activities that will lead to improvements in health service quality.
