The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) is seeking applications for funding. OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety, protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. This program was developed to implement Title III, Division B (3) โ Appropriations outlined in the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (P.L. 117โ159). The solicitation for the FY 2024 National Criminal History Improvement Program (NCHIP) was released on March 4, 2024. The FY 2024 NICS Act Record Improvement Program solicitation will be released later in FY 2024. This program furthers the DOJโs mission to uphold the rule of law, to keep our country safe, and to protect civil rights.
