The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 10 (EPA), is issuing a Request for Applications (RFA) from eligible entities to improve the understanding of toxics and their effects on water quality in the Columbia River Basin by increasing the number, type, and scientific rigor of toxics monitoring projects in the Columbia River Basin through specific actions in three program priority areas: 1) characterization and spatiotemporal trend analysis; 2) pathway identification; and/or 3) novel methods and approaches. The Columbia River Basin Restoration Program (CRBRP) will assist Tribal, state, and local governments; nongovernmental entities, and others as they implement the 2010 Columbia River Basin Toxics Reduction Action Plan and the Lower Columbia River Estuary Plan - Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan and conduct activities to support EPA national goals for the Columbia River Basin.

The United States Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), through the Public Diplomacy Section (PDS), is pleased to announce a Notice of Funding Opportunity for the BOLD (Balkanski Omladinski Lideri, Young Balkan Leaders) Network Small Grants Competition for BiH BOLD network members. The BOLD network is a project of PDS that seeks to empower young people across BiH, ages 18-35, through leadership opportunities and training, to implement projects for positive change in their communities. The goal of these small grants, up to $15,000 each, is to empower BOLD network members to implement projects in their communities that will contribute to economic development or encourage increased civic engagement. Project proposals must be submitted in the name of one BOLD member who will be responsible for receiving funds and maintaining oversight of those funds. However, that applicant may apply with one or more additional BOLD members and the project may be implemented in partnership with other BOLD network members, organizations, government authorities, or educational institutions.

The purpose of the Radiation Exposure Screening and Education Program is to improve the health outcomes and quality of life for populations at increased risk for the development of radiogenic cancers and/or disease resulting from exposure to radioactive materials through uranium mine industry work or fallout from nuclear arms testing. The United States conducted 227 above-ground and 828 below-ground nuclear weapons tests between July 1945 and November 1962. Many of the above-ground tests released radioactive material into the atmosphere. That material reached the ground as nuclear fallout. The dangers of radiation exposure were unknown at the time. Workers did not receive protection. People who lived near the test sites were not warned of potential dangers or told to evacuate. Workers and residents had radiation exposure from touching fallout on the ground, breathing polluted air, eating polluted foods, and drinking polluted water. People exposed to radiation generated by the nuclear weapons tests are at risk for certain cancers and other serious health problems.

Notice of Funding Opportunity Summary NRCS is announcing the availability of Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) State Program funding to stimulate the development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches and technologies. Applications are accepted from eligible entities (Section C) for projects carried out in the state of Texas. A total of up to $1,000,000 is available for the Texas CIG competition in FY 2024. All non-Foreign, non-federal entities (NFE) and individuals are invited to apply, with the sole exception of federal agencies. Projects may be between one and three years in duration. The maximum award amount for a single award in FY 2024 is $300,000. With this solicitation, BJA seeks to support efforts by state, local, and federally recognized American Indian tribal governments to establish and enhance community courts in their jurisdictions.
