Teaching with Primary Sources Program (TPS) The Teaching with Primary Sources program has been the Library of Congresss premier educational outreach program. The goals of the program have included providing instructional materials, tools, education and professional development that enhance teachers ability to integrate digitized primary sources from the Library of Congress into instruction that builds student literacy, critical thinking skills, content knowledge and ability to conduct original research. The Library seeks to solicit project proposals that expand the body of innovative strategies, tools, and materials for meaningful teaching and learning with Library of Congress materials. Specifically, the Library of Congress seeks to make awards to support the creative and wide-ranging educational use of Library online resources that serves sub populations of Americans based on their unique professions, ethnicities, geographic locations, abilities, interests, affiliations, and other attributes. In support of the Librarys mission to use its collections to connect with those representing diverse communities, beliefs, and endeavors to engage, inspire, and inform Congress and the American people with a universal and enduring source of knowledge and creativity, the Professional Learning and Outreach Initiatives Office (PLOI), within the Center for Learning, Literacy and Engagement, has broadened the focus of TPS awards to include the design of educational projects using Library of Congress materials for use in and outside of formal classroom settings. Proposed projects may focus on diverse content areas such as Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), literacy (including media literacy), social studies, civics, art, teacher education, public health, journalism, justice and equality, and other areas that coincide with applicants passions, expertise, and professional experience. 1.The Centers of Excellence in Genomic Science (CEGS) program establishes academic Centers for advanced genome research. Each CEGS award supports a multi-investigator, interdisciplinary team to develop integrated, transformative genomic approaches to address a biomedical problem. A CEGS project will address a critical issue in genomic science, genomic medicine, or computational genomics, proposing a highly innovative solution that would be a major advance. The research will entail substantial risk, balanced by outstanding scientific and management plans and very high potential payoff. A CEGS will focus on the development of novel technological or computational methods for the production or analysis of comprehensive data sets, on a genome-scale biomedical problem, or on other ways to develop and use genomic approaches for understanding biological systems or furthering the application of genomic knowledge, data, and methods towards clinical applications. Each CEGS will nurture genomics by facilitating the interaction of investigators from several disciplines. Along with its scientific goals, CEGS will also expand the pool of genomic scientists and engineers that can use and apply the novel methods, concepts, and knowledge developed by the CEGS by providing education and outreach experiences to scientists at all career levels.

The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) anticipates funding for the Refugee Individual Development Accounts (RIDA) Program, which establishes and manages Individual Development Accounts (IDA) for low-income refugee participants. Eligible refugee participants who enroll in these projects will open and contribute systematically to IDAs for specified asset goals, including homeownership, business capitalization, vehicles for educational or work purposes, professional certification, and education (limited to postsecondary and/or continuing education, college entrance exam fees, (Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and General Education Diploma(GED) preparation and test fees). Recipient organizations may use ORR funds to provide matches for the savings in the IDAs of up to $3,000 per individual refugee and $6,000 per refugee household.The match mentioned in this announcement does not refer to the award recipient finding additional funds to match funds being provided by the federal government; it is the portion of federal funds to be allocated for matching clients' IDA savings.Recipients will be expected to coordinate their policies and procedures for developing and administering refugee IDA projects with ORR and with the existing refugee IDA network.
