The purpose of this project is to support Hondurans National Police (HNP) in the implementation of the Police Athletic League (PAL) program in Honduras. The targeted population is at-risk youth in Honduras between the ages of seven (7) and eighteen (18) who live in communities at high risk of violence and gang activity. The Police Athletic League will be launched by HNP Officers in November 2024 as a pilot program with approximately 2,500 children enrolled in 6 principal cities in Honduras: Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, La Ceiba, Tela, La Paz and Roatan. Soccer will be one of the main target activities available nationwide, including leagues for both females and males for primary and middle school students. This initiative aims to promote inclusivity and equitable athletic development, with teams comprised of 18 participants each, including 6 female and 6 male players in primary and secondary schools.

The purpose of this project is to strengthen the regulatory framework of the juvenile justice system in conjunction with key stakeholders (the First Ladys office, CONAPINA, the Supreme Court, the Attorneys General Office, the Public Defenders Office, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Governance). Proposals should include activities to assist stakeholders in drafting a National Juvenile Justice Policy, assist CONAPINA in creating regulations, policies, and SOPs to effectively manage youth in conflict with the law (YICL), and help CONAPINA and juvenile judges improve coordination and work together to propose legal reforms that support rehabilitative programs for adolescents. Activities should increase shared understanding among key stakeholders, institutionalize rehabilitation programs for adolescents, and promote juvenile court judges applying more alternative sentencing options.

The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a project to increase basic access to justice in rural regions and for vulnerable populations throughout the Central African Republic.Central Africans in remote and conflict-affected communities continue to lack basic access to justice services and require assistance relating to crimes against vulnerable populations, such as children, elderly, widows, and orphans, LGBTQI+, and victims of sexual- and gender-based violence (SGBV). Despite substantial progress in recent years, CARs justice institutions lack the infrastructure and resources to provide legal services to a substantial section of the countrys population. CAR remote populations possess limited knowledge of how court system operations, available legal protections, and difficulty accessing courts with limited functionality. The absence of accessible, functional, and credible justice institutions has a profound impact on the lives of marginalized Central African populations as the risk of physical violence remains.

Flexible financial assistance is intended to support survivors in achieving safety, stability, and healing by paying for necessities that are not easily met by traditional service providers and with the flexibility to meet self-identified needs quickly.

The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) is the component of the U.S. Department of Justice responsible for advancing the practice of community policing by the nations state, local, territorial, and tribal law enforcement agencies through information and grant resources. The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a project to engage in prosecutorial development and training in the Pacific Islands, particularly in the Freely Associated States (FAS) of the Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands. To this end, the FAS Prosecutorial Development (FASPro) project will work with relevant justice sector actors (e.g., ministries of justice, training institutes and law schools, bar associations, law firms, alternative courts, legislative bodies, regional and international organizations) to strengthen workforce pipelines in the legal sector in order to stimulate the development of prosecutorial offices in the FAS.
