In alignment with Center for Disease Control (CDC) viral hepatitis goals and current epidemiology, the Illinois Department of Public Health Office of Disease Control Viral Hepatitis Program is requesting applications for Hepatitis B (HBV) outreach, education, and linkage to care programs targeting populations disproportionately impacted by hepatitis B (foreign born Asian and/or African immigrant or refugee population, and persons who use drugs (PWUD). Through the provision of outreach and education services, this funding seeks to increase the priority population(s)’s knowledge and awareness of hepatitis B, increase hepatitis B screening, link people who are chronically infected with hepatitis B into care and decrease viral hepatitis-related morbidity and mortality within priority populations. This funding opportunity will allow organizations to expand their reach through partnering with community partners focused on health equity to enhancing their ability to reach disproportionately affected populations at high risk for hepatitis B. The Initiative is funded through State of Illinois general revenue funding to establish relationship with stakeholders, individuals, and organizations for the purpose of providing Hepatitis B outreach and education programs to underserved foreign born Asian and African immigrant, refugee communities, and persons who use drugs (PWUD) with educational messaging and referral linkages to screening and vaccination services. In 2021, approximately 880,000 to 1.89 million people were living with chronic hepatitis B in the U.S. Chronic hepatitis B can lead to serious health problems, including cirrhosis, liver cancer, and death. Currently, data on the HBV seroprevalence among foreign born and refugee populations from Asian and African communities is not recorded systematically in the US. However, the prevalence of HBV among Asian and African immigrant, refugee communities tend to reflect the prevalence in their country of origin. HBV is highly prevalent (>8%) in East Asian, sub-Saharan African nations, and tend to have high rates of chronic viral hepatitis. The focus of any funded program shall not be screening and vaccination, or treatment efforts, but the outreach to, and the education of, the target population regarding Hepatitis B and referral and linkage opportunities for screening, vaccination, and treatment services. These populations face unique problems that place them at greater risk for Hepatitis B infection, mistrust of traditional western medicine, stigma associated with viral hepatitis, barriers to accessing medical care (Language, insurance, undocumented). Programs should be unique, culturally innovative to the specified target group, and increase ongoing efforts of the Department to eliminate the disparities in screenings, vaccinations, medical management, transmission, and overall health outcomes experienced by Asian and African immigrant, refugee communities, and persons who use drugs (PWUD) relative to Hepatitis B.

This funding opportunity provides $10,000 per year for two years to organizations in New Jersey that create free arts-based learning experiences for older adults aged 55 and over, promoting creativity and engagement in the community.

This program provides financial assistance to counties and tribal governing bodies to enhance fish and wildlife programs. Established in 1965 by the Wisconsin Legislature as an alternative to bounty payments on coyote, foxes, and bobcats, it now supports a wide range of county-sponsored fish and wildlife habitat projects. After the state budget approval, funds are allocated based on the ratio of each county's area to the total state area. The program is designed as a cost-share initiative for projects that include development of outdoor recreation structures, habitat restoration, stocking projects, maintenance, and miscellaneous projects directly related to fish and wildlife. The Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), formerly part of the FAST Act, provides funding for diverse transportation projects such as pedestrian and bicycle facilities, recreational trails, safe routes to school, community improvements, and environmental mitigation. The program is competitive, with an 80% federal funding share and a 20% local match requirement. Eligible projects include infrastructure-related activities promoting non-motorized transportation and community improvements. The application deadline for the 2024 cycle is May 31, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. Grant renewed every year.

The Transportation Alternatives (TA) Set-Aside, part of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Surface Transportation Block Grant Program, offers reimbursable federal aid for transportation-related community projects that enhance the intermodal transportation system. Support for presenting touring performing artists and groups for events and festivals in communities across the state, including in rural counties. This grant category supports Tennessee presenters by providing grant funds up to $5,000 to offset the costs of professional artist fees for performing artists and groups that present to the public and offer an educational component with their engagement. Any eligible organization may apply for up to $3,000 of the agreed upon artist’s fees. If an organization or touring artist being presented meets one of the following criteria, the organization may request up to $5,000 of the agreed upon artist’s fees.

Applications may be considered under one or both of the following project priorities. Project Type - Transition from Provisional License to Annual License: To transition to an annual license, provisional licensees must meet all regulatory requirements in Title 3 of the California Code of Regulations, sections 8102, 8105, and 8106. Eligible activities under this project type include, but are not limited to: cleanup, remediation, and restoration, professional services, consulting, and infrastructure related to cleanup, remediation, and restoration. Eligible costs include but are not limited to: compliance costs (except the ineligible costs described above); meeting the avoidance, minimization, or mitigation requirements approved in the project’s CEQA document; or county permitting requirements. If the applicant is representing a provisional license cultivator, actions outlined must lead to the issuance of an annual license or lead to on-the-ground implementation that will result in the issuance of an annual license from the licensing authority. Project Type - Sustainable Cannabis Cultivation Practices: Sustainable cannabis cultivation practices should alleviate direct and indirect environmental impacts of cannabis cultivation and enhance environmental stewardship. Activities that may be eligible include but are not limited to: sustainable water consumption, sustainable waste management, integrated pest and disease management, erosion control, and/or riparian protection. Qualified Cultivator - The following qualified cultivator may be represented by an eligible applicant. The qualified cultivator being represented by the eligible applicant must at a minimum have a valid and active provisional license or annual license issued by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA; now the Department of Cannabis Control). Bus. & Prof. Code, § 26050.2 et seq.). Priority will be given to qualified cultivators with ownership and/or financial interest in no more than 10,000 square feet of total canopy. However, cultivators with ownership and/or financial interest accumulating between 10,000-20,000 square feet of total canopy may still qualify. All proposed projects must benefit qualified cultivators as defined below. Qualified cultivation license types are: Specialty cottage:-“Specialty Cottage Outdoor” is an outdoor cultivation site with up to 25 mature plants.-“Specialty Cottage Mixed-Light Tier 1” only, is a mixed-light cultivation site with 2,500 square feet or less of total canopy Specialty:-“Specialty Outdoor” is an outdoor cultivation site with less than or equal to 5,000 square feet of total canopy, or up to 50 mature plants.-“Specialty Mixed-Light Tier 1” only, is a mixed-light cultivation site between 2,501 and 5,000 square feet of total canopy. Small:- “Small Outdoor” is an outdoor cultivation site between 5,001 and 10,000 square feet of total canopy.- “Small Mixed-Light Tier 1” only, is a mixed-light cultivation site between 5,001 and 10,000 square feet of total canopy. “Mixed-light Tier 1” is without the use of artificial light or the use of artificial light at a rate above zero, but no more than six watts per square foot.

The New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) is making up to $3M in Title I Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Statewide Activities funding available under the Apprenticeship Expansion Grant (AEG-4) Request for Applications (RFA). The purpose of this RFA is to expand New York State (NYS) Registered Apprenticeship (RA) training by increasing employment opportunities for approximately 130 apprentices, with a focus on underrepresented populations. These apprentices will enter trades in high-demand occupations, with a focus on the emerging fields of Advanced Manufacturing, Healthcare, Hospitality, and Information Technology, as well as other in-demand occupations. Please note that this solicitation focuses on promoting the expansion of NYS RAs and as such, RAs in the field of Construction are not eligible for funding under this RFA unless the trade is to be used for the upkeep and maintenance of a facility owned by the business entity employing the apprentice, such as plant maintenance trades.

This funding provides financial assistance to eligible school food authorities in California for purchasing or renovating equipment to improve nutrition quality and serve healthier meals in schools.

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is offering approximately $4.5 million in grants to support organics management projects aimed at reducing the amount of organic material sent to landfills or incinerators. This funding is intended for projects that enhance or establish collection, processing (through composting, anaerobic digestion, or feeding to animals), and education/outreach initiatives related to organics management. Eligible entities must serve or operate within Minnesota, and include not-for-profit organizations, businesses, institutions, political subdivisions (e.g., counties, cities), state agencies, and tribal governments. Applications are due by 4 p.m. Central Time on June 10, 2024.

The Genetic Education and Follow-Up (GEFU) grant program, managed by the Illinois Department of Public Health, aims to implement a Department-approved genetic screening tool to provide referral recommendations for children and family members in the Champaign region. Supported by the Newborn Screening fund, the program seeks to enhance awareness of genetic services, improve access to care, and promote early and uninterrupted treatment for diagnosed conditions. The total program funding is $300,000, with annual funding of $100,000 for fiscal years 2025, 2026, and 2027. Applications are accepted from April 1, 2024, to May 29, 2024, with no cost-sharing or matching requirements.
