CalRecycle is seeking projects that implement new programs or enhance existing programs to provide convenient beverage container recycling opportunities in various locations statewide. Eligible projects include:• Multi-family residential dwellings (five units or more).• Public colleges/universities, non-profit colleges/universities, and public K-12 school districts.• Curbside Residential Program locations (excluding single stream).• Community events including, but not limited to, those sponsored by local jurisdictions.• Parks/recreational areas.• Purchase of water refill stations, including installation, replacement of current infrastructure, plumbing, maintenance, additional attachments or modifications, or related educational and outreach activities/materials promoting water refill stations.• Litter reduction and cleanup along the United States-Mexico border where the waste stream includes beverage containers that will be recycled. o Out of State beverage containers collected as part of the litter abatement and cleanup projects cannot be funded under this grant program. Ongoing collection programs may include the following activities as a component of the grant project:• Temporary Community events (i.e., recycling or collection events sponsored by local jurisdictions, Earth Day events).• Drop-off, Collection Program, or Community Service Program.• Education and Outreach related to beverage container recycling. Note: Education activities and/or materials (signage, flyers, curriculum, etc.) related to the beverage container recycling project are capped at 25 percent of the total grant award. • Funding must have a direct connection to the California Redemption Value (CRV) of beverage containers and the overall program. If non-CRV items are included in the grant, they are subject to proportional cost. For example: a three-bin system with composting, paper and CRV recycling, can only be funded at one third of the cost. A mixed recycling bin will be funded proportionately based on the CRV content of materials collected. Priority funding will be given to Tribal Entities and applicants with litter abatement projects along the United States-Mexico border. Any tree to be treated for the EAB must at least be in good-fair overall condition or less than 30% canopy thinning as stated in the signed report or inventory. Tree Planting & Community Engagement: Any tree planting project MUST include community engagement. If you already have a community engagement plan/program, please include it in your application. All grant recipients will work closely with the CUF team to develop a community engagement strategy that is unique to your community and its needs. The specifics of this strategy will develop as your project does but keep this requirement in mind as you complete this application. Tree plantings may be used to restore urban forests due to losses from EAB and other pests and diseases and build resiliency through tree diversity. Note that 100% of the project trees must be species native to Indiana. Additionally, this grant cannot be used for the purchase of trees in the Acer genus (maples). DPR's Research Grants Program supports projects that seek to advance integrated pest management (IPM) knowledge in agricultural, urban, or wildland settings. Projects should focus on reducing impacts to public health or the environment from pesticides of high regulatory interest. Summaries of previously funded Research Grants Program projects can be found on the Research Grants webpage. The CDBG-DR MHP Round One NOFA provides low-interest loans to eligible entities seeking to develop new construction of affordable multifamily rental housing in the counties of Butte, Fresno, Los Angeles, Napa, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Siskiyou, Solano, and Sonoma to aid in their recovery from the fire disasters that occurred in California in 2020, and in the cities of Malibu, Agoura Hills and Calabasas for their recovery from the 2018 Woolsey Fire. HCD will be the direct lender of these loans. At the time of application for DR-MHP funds, the proposed Project must have demonstrate site control in accordance with UMR §8303 and must not have closed on construction financing or started construction. The project proposal must have been made privy to the local legislative body, or tribal governing body prior to application, and include a letter indicating their approval at the time of application. The proposed Project must tie back to the disaster by increasing the supply of affordable housing units. It must have a minimum of five total units, including Scattered Site Projects, and have a minimum of five Affordable Units or 51 percent of units must be Affordable Units, whichever is greater. CDBG-DR funds are limited to low to moderate income housing units. Proposed Projects may have mixed-income units, but CDBG-DR funds must only be applied to the Affordable Units for occupation by Low- to Moderate- Income Households. At least 10 percent of DR-MHP-assisted Units must be for households not exceeding 30% of the Area Median Income. The Harbor Facility Grant Program provides financial assistance in the form of a 50/50 matching grant to municipally or regional housing authority owned small boat harbor facilities in the State of Alaska. Port or barge facilities are not eligible for the grant program. This grant program is funded on an annual basis at the discretion of the Alaska Legislature and consists of two tiers, Tier I and II. The first tier has priority and consists of “Major Maintenance and Repair” of a harbor facility that was previously owned by the state and now is municipally or regional housing authority owned. A harbor facility may only receive one Tier I grant regardless if it is for all or only a portion of that harbor facility. The boundaries of a Tier I harbor facility will be based on the Department’s 1995 Alaska Harbor Directory or as determined by the Department. Once a Tier I eligible harbor facility receives a Tier I grant, the status of that harbor facility changes from Tier I to Tier II henceforth. After all eligible Tier I projects have been selected, the Department will consider Tier II projects. The second tier consists of all other municipally or regional housing authority owned harbor facilities, including construction of a new harbor facility. Harbor facilities which have already received a Tier I grant can only compete for Tier II grants. Grantees will be asked to focus on prevention and early intervention efforts with the end goal of increasing access to mental health services for veterans and their families. Proposals funded under CVHI must be inclusive, equitable, and available to all veterans regardless of age, period of service, type of service, discharge status, or disability rating. Applicants must be able to meet the eligibility requirements of California Military and Veterans Code Section 881 to be considered for funding, and proposals must aim to expand the state’s capacity to provide mental health support to veterans and to fill gaps in mental health services. Applicants are required to select the program areas they are proposing and provide a description of the proposed activities and how the proposed activities would increase mental health access for California veterans. This NOFA allows for flexibility in program design to fit the specific needs of veterans and their families across the state, Outreach, Peer Support, Case Management, Outpatient Clinical Treatment, and Innovative Approaches will be eligible for funding and are further defined in the NOFA. The Grantee staff and leadership will be expected to maintain significant engagement with CalVet for monthly check-ins, operations assistance, reporting, and evaluation. Applicants are encouraged to ensure they are budgeting for appropriate levels of staff, time for data collection and reporting, time spent in CVHI meetings and trainings, and appropriate facility requirements (office space, group space, hardware and software equipment, supplies, overhead). Through an Application process responsive to the NOFA, awarded Grantees will provide clear and convincing evidence of adequate personnel, facility, and organizational capacity to effectively carry out their proposed project. The successful Applicant will describe how they meet minimum qualifications, including their breadth of experience working with Veterans, with special emphasis on treating veterans with mental health concerns.
