State Housing Grants

Federal program designed to help homeless individuals / families enter into a shelter with the goal of finding affordable housing or maintain affordable housing. THDA administers the federally funded Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program for the state of Tennessee in 92 of the state's 95 counties in order to fund the provision of services necessary to help persons who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness to quickly regain stability in permanent housing.

The THDA Challenge Grant Program provides initial seed funding to support the private fundraising efforts of nonprofit organizations across Tennessee to implement housing and related activities that represent unique milestones, are part of a broad community initiative, or are part of a significant expansion of work outside the normal day-to-day activities of the organization. Selected proposals must generate cash leverage of at least 300% within nine months of THDA’s commitment of Challenge Grant resources to the housing initiative.

Provides gap funding to eligible nonprofit entities to help cover the costs to build new construction or substantially rehabilitate homes in distressed communities where property values still have not recovered. The Appraisal Gap Pilot Program (“Gap Program”) is a pilot program designed to provide a subsidy to eligible nonprofit entities, based on the difference or gap between the costs to build new homes or to substantially rehabilitate homes and the appraised value of the home that the nonprofit will sell to an eligible buyer. The Gap Program Subsidy may not fill the entire gap. The Gap Program’s goal is to expand the availability of affordable housing in areas of the state where property values have not fully recovered from the mortgage crisis.

CAL FIRE's Wood Products and Bioenergy team seeks to maintain and enhance the wood products infrastructure of California to promote healthy resilient forests throughout the state by supporting a diverse set of business development and workforce development projects.  ; Eligible business development projects include facilities, operations, and professional services that support the restoration of healthy, resilient forests.   Eligible workforce development projects include universities, colleges, government and community organizations, and businesses that aim to increase workforce capacity in the fields of logging, fuels treatment, transportation, manufacturing, or other support services that bolster the development of a resilient forest sector workforce.   Research and development projects related to both business and workforce development will also be considered. The HOME-ARP Housing Plus Support Program provides funding for service providers to provide short term financial assistance and critical services to qualifying populations who are exiting homelessness as well as to prevent vulnerable qualifying populations from losing housing.; The HOME-ARP Program is a one time allocation awarded to states, units of local government, insular areas, and consortia of units of general local government that qualified for an allocation of HOME funds in Fiscal Year 2021. Funding is intented to address the need for homelessness assistance and supportive services specifically for qualifying populations defined as homeless, at risk of homelessness, fleeing, or attempting to flee domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking and other vulnerable populations at risk of housing instability. HOME-ARP funding for this NOFA will provide grants to nonprofit and Native American Entities. The Department will award HOME-ARP funds to provide critical services to those experiencing homelessness, exiting homelessness and to prevent vulnerable populations from losing housing.

OAJJA: Behavioral Health Information and Data Sharing Grant Program Overview: The Behavioral Health Information and Data Sharing Grant Program provides funding to support county jails in onboarding and integrating with the Colorado Trusted Interoperability Platform (CTIP). This initiative aims to exchange behavioral health, housing, and demographic information with the Colorado Integrated Criminal Justice Information System (CICJIS) to ensure continuity of care for individuals transitioning between criminal justice agencies and the community. Program Description: Purpose of the Funds: The goal of the Behavioral Health Information and Data Sharing Grant Program, established by SB22-196, is to facilitate the exchange of behavioral health, housing, and demographic information with CICJIS. This exchange will be accomplished by establishing an information exchange platform within CICJIS to improve criminal justice, health, and safety outcomes. Statutory Authority: 24-33.5-532. Behavioral health information and data-sharing in the criminal justice system. Eligibility: Every Colorado county is eligible for a grant. Counties lacking an existing electronic jail management system infrastructure may face challenges in completing required activities. Eligible Activities: Integrating county jail data systems with CICJIS. Standardizing client-specific information through common data fields. Automating data reporting required by state and federal law. Required Application Components: All grant applications must address the following: Justifiable project costs. Plans to use technology meeting state standards. Addition of all data exchange requirements to the applicant's jail management system. Acknowledgment of the conditional nature of funding based on acceptance of the CICJIS participation agreement.
