Applicants with incomplete or delinquent reports from any prior funding program, as of October 15, 2024 (or otherwise as determined by CAH), are ineligible to receive additional funds from CAH in FY 2025. Organizations must (at the time of application): Be incorporated as a nonprofit with a federally designated tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) code, as evidenced by an IRS determination letter that is dated at least one year prior to the application deadline date; or be a recognized District of Columbia Business Improvement District (BID). Be registered with, and authorized to do business in, the District as either a “Domestic” entity (that is, an entity that was incorporated in the District) or a “Foreign” entity (that is, an entity that was incorporated in another state). Ensure that at least fifty-one percent (51%) of the organization’s activities occur within the District of Columbia. Have an active Board of Directors. Demonstrate a partnership with a visual artist to design, fabricate and install (de- install if temporary) the proposed application work-of-art in a public space. The ongoing and annual acquisition of art from metropolitan artists becomes a part of the Art Bank Collection. CAH manages artwork in the collection. It is then loaned to District Government agencies for display in public areas and offices of government buildings. The Art Bank Collection, which started in 1986, has nearly 3,000 artworks. CAH seeks grant applications from qualified artists and District nonprofit art galleries or organizations representing metropolitan artists for the acquisition of original two- and three- dimensional artwork including, but not limited to: Ceramics Drawings Fabric Arts Mixed media works Paintings Photographs Prints Sculptures Goals  Grow the District’s collection of art to reflect the rich, diverse artistic history and communities of the District of Columbia and metropolitan region. Provide support, exposure, and professional benefit for visual artists residing in the District of Columbia and metropolitan region. Enhance the aesthetic experience for District employees and visitors that access District of Columbia government buildings and public spaces. Funding Information Award amounts vary but eligible individual applicants may be awarded up to $15,000 and nonprofit art galleries or organizational applicants may be awarded up to $20,000. Period of Performance  October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2025. Eligibility Criteria Prior to submitting applications, applicants must meet all the following eligibility requirements: Be an artist or artist representative (e.g., artist estate representative), aged 18 or older; Be a legal resident of Washington, DC, or a legal resident of within a 50-mile radius of the Washington, DC boundaries, for at least one (1) year prior to the application deadline; Maintain primary residency during the entire funding period (October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025); Have a permanent DC, MD, or VA address, as listed on government-issued identification or tax returns. The address provided on all application materials must match exactly the address provided on the submitted IRS W-9 form. Post office boxes are not allowable as a primary address; and, Be in good standing with CAH. Applicants with incomplete or delinquent reports from any prior funding program, as of Friday, October 11, 2024 (or otherwise as determined by CAH), are ineligible to receive additional funds from CAH in FY 2025. The Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program (THCPP) offers Planning Grants to counties for producing 95% complete construction plans and specifications for full courthouse restoration projects. The grant aims to restore courthouses to their historic period while also meeting current standards for safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency. Eligible counties can use these documents to apply for future restoration funding, gaining up to 10 additional points for being "shovel ready."Counties with approved plans are encouraged to apply for restoration funding in subsequent cycles, maximizing preservation efforts.

The Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program (THCPP) aims to restore and preserve Texas courthouses, enhancing their historical and architectural significance. The Full Restoration Grant facilitates comprehensive projects, including the removal of non-historic alterations, reconstruction of period features, and compliance upgrades for safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency. Eligible courthouses must be at least 50 years old, have served or currently serve as a county courthouse, and have an approved master plan.

The Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program (THCPP) offers Emergency Grants to address urgent courthouse needs. The grants assist counties facing catastrophic events, unforeseen conditions threatening courthouse integrity, or damage due to deferred maintenance. Emergency Grants prioritize critical issues and funding availability, supporting courthouses and their occupants. For previously restored courthouses, remedial action is emphasized, with applicants expected to seek insurance claims or administrative remedies for construction defects. Any recovery through legal settlements can lead to grant recapture.

This funding supports regional planning and development councils in Maryland to enhance economic growth and infrastructure in rural areas, with each council eligible for up to $600,000 to address local challenges.

The Delaware Division of the Arts awards Arts Access Grants to support the presentation of performing, visual, literary, media, or folk arts in communities throughout Delaware. These grants aim to provide experiences of artistic merit, support arts programs in new venues, foster collaboration, reach underserved audiences, and promote the creation of new works and conservation of diverse cultural traditions. Eligible applicants include municipal, county, or state government units within Delaware, and Delaware-based nonprofit organizations exempt from federal income tax under specific sections of the Internal Revenue Code. Applicants may request up to 80% of eligible expenses, not exceeding $1,250. The grants focus on projects that provide increased access to the arts, especially in underserved communities, and demonstrate effective management and marketing.

Arts Respond - Cultural District Project Eligibility: TCA Cultural Districts; VERIFIED College Arts Institution, Established Arts Organizations, Established Arts Organizations of Color, Government Local Arts Agencies, Local Arts Agencies, Rural Arts Providers located within a TCA Designated Cultural District Intent: Projects that use the arts to diversify local economies, generate revenue, and attract visitors and investment. This competitive grant program provides project assistance grants on a short-term basis and may include administrative costs directly related to the project. This program is designed for projects that focus on significant cultural tourism projects. These projects should serve at least one of the following: High quality arts programming that will attract a significant number of visitors from 50 miles or more outside the community (i.e., blockbuster art exhibitions, national or regional premieres, major festivals) Enhancements to the cultural district to make it more accessible, attractive, cohesive-looking, and safe for visitors Improved signage and wayfinding for the district Promotion of the district; this may include the district’s website, branding, and marketing Organizational support for the management and operations of the district (TCA Cultural District only) These grants may include capital improvements. This grant emphasizes the importance of local and regional arts initiatives, offering funding for a diverse range of projects including but not limited to performances, exhibitions, workshops, and community arts programs. Final reporting on programmatic and allowable financial activities is crucial for grant agreement monitoring, project evaluation, and research purposes. Failure to submit the final report by the specified due date may result in the forfeiture of remaining funds and impact eligibility for future awards.

INTENT: To activate vacant and underused spaces through the arts to help bring together community members around the art, history, and culture of the community. DESCRIPTION This program provides funding for communities with populations of 15,000 or less to reinvigorate spaces by creating new murals or public art that incorporate the community’s history, culture, heritage, tourism, or other community led art piece. This mural and public art grant program is intended to support projects in rural communities that are immediately ready to begin work on their mural, with community engagement, location selection, site approvals, and muralist selection being completed by May 10, 2024. ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS Communities with a population of 15,000 or less, located in a county of 50,000 or less. Units of local government Economic/Community Development and Tourism non-profits (501c3 or 501c6) Federally recognized tribes Non-profit organizations (501c3) MAXIMUM REQUEST: $7,500 MATCH REQUIREMENT: • Dollar for dollar (1:1) • The total project cost must be at least twice the amount of the grant request. • The match requirement must consist of at least 25% cash expenses provided by the applicant • In-kind non-monetary donations and volunteer hours may be counted, up to 75% of the required match MATCH EXCEPTION Organizations or projects in communities with populations of 1000 or fewer: • In-kind non-monetary donations may be counted as 100% of the required match PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE • May 2024 – December 31, 2024 • Murals painted on exterior walls using paint or an adhesive material need to be completed by mid-October 2024 to ensure weather does not inhibit the curing process. • If more time is needed to complete your project, KCAIC has an additional program that could be a better fit. ELIGIBLE COSTS/EXPENSES • Artist and consultant fees including travel expenses and accommodation expenses • Applicable project materials and supplies • Additional administrative costs (beyond annually budgeted general operating costs) related to the approved project • Allowable marketing expenses directly related to the approved project (This does not include campaigns or materials used solely to raise awareness of the organization.) • Equipment purchases needed to complete art or mural project under $5,000 • Wall or surface repair – limited to 15% of total project cost (tuckpointing, mortar repair) • Surface preparation (smoothing, resurfacing, cleaning, etc.) • Lighting or display materials to highlight the art piece • Landscaping or clean-up of the space that could affect the visibility of the mural INELIGIBLE COSTS/EXPENSES INCLUDE: • General operating costs of an organization not directly related to the approved project (Applicable general operating costs directly related to the approved project may account for no more than 50% of an applicant’s cash match) • Fundraising campaigns or related expenses, scholarships • Construction, purchase, or renovation of facilities • Financing of political activities, lobbying, or murals that are directly tied to a political party affiliation • Honorariums (artists and contractors must be paid as fees for services rendered) FUNDING PRIORITIES • Communities or Counties that have not previously received funding from the Kansas Department of Commerce for murals or public art • Projects that can show that they are ready to begin. Nebraska Academic Research and Development Grants provide matching competitive grants for research and development activities in collaboration with a Nebraska college or university. The program focuses on commercializing new projects, improving existing products for better marketability, and enhancing processes to generate new revenue for Nebraska businesses. Phase I R&D awards are capped at $100,000, while Phase II awards are capped at $400,000. Businesses must match the grant amount with eligible funds. The project scope includes academic research and development activities conducted with a Nebraska college, university, or faculty member to develop new products and processes or modify existing ones. The Historic Restoration Fund Grants (HRF) program by the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development provides financial support for maintaining and repairing non-profit and municipally owned buildings listed on the State or National Register of Historic Places. Alaska State Council on the Arts, with support from Rasmuson Foundation, offers Access Grants of up to $1,000 to support short-term arts and cultural activities for grades K-12 at a school site during the school day. These grants aim to bring high-quality arts experiences to students and are part of the Cultural Collaborations program. Cultural Collaborations Grants The Cultural Collaborations and Arts Educator Fellowship Programs are made possible through support from the Rasmuson Foundation, administered by the Alaska State Council on the Arts. A school may apply for and receive an Arts Excursion grant, and a Project or Access Grant per school year. A school may also receive support for an Artists in Schools residency in the same school year, either as an individual school or through a district grant. The Arts Educator Fellowship program provides grants to certified, permanently-assigned, full and part-time K-12 teachers to immerse themselves in their own creative work, interact with professional artists, and stay current with new artistic practice. The Arts Educator Fellowship is meant to create opportunities for Alaska teachers to fill their own artistic wells. Eligible applicants may apply for up to $3,000 in support of Arts Educator Fellowship (AEF) activities, based on actual expenses.
