Grant Opportunity: Specific Cultural Projects Funding Organization: State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture Contact: Main: 850.245.6470 About the Program: The Specific Cultural Project (SCP) grant aims to fund a single cultural project, program, exhibition, or series that takes place within the grant period from July 1 to June 30. The activities funded by this grant must align with the mission of the organization or artist and further the state's cultural objectives. Both organizations and individuals are eligible to apply. Basic Eligibility: - All current and previous grantees must be in good standing with the Division of Arts and Culture and the Department of State at the time of application. - Applicant organizations must be either a public entity or a Florida non-profit tax-exempt corporation as of the application deadline. - Individuals may apply for Artist Project, Artist Performances on Tour, and Teaching Artist grants. - All organizations must have at least one year of completed arts and cultural programming and provide their last completed fiscal year's operating budget. - Applicant organizations must be registered with the Division of Corporations as "active" by the application deadline. - Applicant organizations must be registered as a vendor with the Department of Financial Services and provide a copy of their Florida Substitute W-9 form. - Applicant organizations must have a UEI Number. Grants for Organizations: All applicants must be either a public entity or a Florida non-profit tax-exempt corporation as of the application deadline. There are various discipline-based program areas with their own eligibility requirements such as arts in education projects, artist residency projects, arts partnership projects, discipline-based projects (dance, literature, media arts, museum, music, presenter, theatre, traditional arts, visual arts), and underserved cultural community development projects. Grants for Artists: All applicants must be Florida-based artists who are not enrolled in a degree or certificate program. Artists applying as individuals must create a profile in the grant portal. There are different project types available for artists, including individual artist project grants and arts in education grants (artist performances on tour and teaching artist grants).

This program provides financial support for the renovation, construction, or acquisition of facilities dedicated to various arts and cultural activities in Florida.

The Rural Shelter program provides funding for the creation, improvement, or purchase of homeless shelters in non-urban areas, aiming to restore their capacity to pre-COVID levels.

This grant provides funding to California-based nonprofit organizations and public agencies for community-driven humanities projects that engage underserved audiences and foster public dialogue and understanding.

INTENT: To activate vacant and underused spaces through the arts to help bring together community members around the art, history, and culture of the community. DESCRIPTION This program provides funding for communities with populations of 15,000 or less to reinvigorate spaces by creating new murals or public art that incorporate the community’s history, culture, heritage, tourism, or other community led art piece. This mural and public art grant program is intended to support projects in rural communities that are immediately ready to begin work on their mural, with community engagement, location selection, site approvals, and muralist selection being completed by May 10, 2024. ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS Communities with a population of 15,000 or less, located in a county of 50,000 or less. Units of local government Economic/Community Development and Tourism non-profits (501c3 or 501c6) Federally recognized tribes Non-profit organizations (501c3) MAXIMUM REQUEST: $7,500 MATCH REQUIREMENT: • Dollar for dollar (1:1) • The total project cost must be at least twice the amount of the grant request. • The match requirement must consist of at least 25% cash expenses provided by the applicant • In-kind non-monetary donations and volunteer hours may be counted, up to 75% of the required match MATCH EXCEPTION Organizations or projects in communities with populations of 1000 or fewer: • In-kind non-monetary donations may be counted as 100% of the required match PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE • May 2024 – December 31, 2024 • Murals painted on exterior walls using paint or an adhesive material need to be completed by mid-October 2024 to ensure weather does not inhibit the curing process. • If more time is needed to complete your project, KCAIC has an additional program that could be a better fit. ELIGIBLE COSTS/EXPENSES • Artist and consultant fees including travel expenses and accommodation expenses • Applicable project materials and supplies • Additional administrative costs (beyond annually budgeted general operating costs) related to the approved project • Allowable marketing expenses directly related to the approved project (This does not include campaigns or materials used solely to raise awareness of the organization.) • Equipment purchases needed to complete art or mural project under $5,000 • Wall or surface repair – limited to 15% of total project cost (tuckpointing, mortar repair) • Surface preparation (smoothing, resurfacing, cleaning, etc.) • Lighting or display materials to highlight the art piece • Landscaping or clean-up of the space that could affect the visibility of the mural INELIGIBLE COSTS/EXPENSES INCLUDE: • General operating costs of an organization not directly related to the approved project (Applicable general operating costs directly related to the approved project may account for no more than 50% of an applicant’s cash match) • Fundraising campaigns or related expenses, scholarships • Construction, purchase, or renovation of facilities • Financing of political activities, lobbying, or murals that are directly tied to a political party affiliation • Honorariums (artists and contractors must be paid as fees for services rendered) FUNDING PRIORITIES • Communities or Counties that have not previously received funding from the Kansas Department of Commerce for murals or public art • Projects that can show that they are ready to begin. It is the policy of the State to enhance the development of all eligible infants and toddlers to minimize developmental delays and maximize individual potential for adult independence. It is the need of the State to implement, on a statewide basis, locally based, comprehensive, coordinated, multidisciplinary, interagency, Early Intervention (EI) services for all eligible infants and toddlers. The EI Program is a statewide program for the evaluation and assessment of infants and toddlers ages birth to three, as well as the provision of services for those who have a qualifying disability or diagnosis, a 30 percent delay in development in one or more of the five developmental domains, or who are at risk of developmental delays. Children and families access EI services through one of 25 Child and Family Connections (CFC) offices. This Notification of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) issued by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS), Division of Family and Community Services, Bureau of EI, seeks agencies located within Illinois to serve as the CFC offices for designated geographic areas. (See chart in Appendix I to identify the area served by each CFC office.) CFC offices are the regional intake entities defined in state statute (325 ILCS 20) and rule (89 IL Admin. Code 500) as IDHS’s designated entity responsible for implementation of the EI Program within its designated geographic area. IDHS is required to assure the designation of regional points of entry to accomplish consistent and equitable intake and service coordination throughout the State, with services defined in Section A.2. Separate proposals for each geographical intake region must be submitted for those agencies submitting for more than one geographical intake region.

Key focuses of the FTE grant include enhancing educational outcomes through arts and humanities, promoting collaboration among cultural organizations, and strengthening partnerships between these organizations and public schools. The program also highlights the importance of demonstrating measurable impact, ensuring that the field trip experiences and associated programming lead to tangible benefits for participating students and teachers. Expected outcomes of the FTE grant include increased student engagement in arts and humanities, improved student achievement, and enhanced professional development for educators. Measurable results are expected in areas such as student participation rates, teacher feedback on professional development, and demonstrated improvements in students' understanding of curricular content. The grant's duration is one year, with a period of performance from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025. Funding information indicates support up to $50,000, with an overall grant size ranging from $10,000 to $100,000.

The Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program (THCPP) offers Planning Grants to counties for producing 95% complete construction plans and specifications for full courthouse restoration projects. The grant aims to restore courthouses to their historic period while also meeting current standards for safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency. Eligible counties can use these documents to apply for future restoration funding, gaining up to 10 additional points for being "shovel ready."Counties with approved plans are encouraged to apply for restoration funding in subsequent cycles, maximizing preservation efforts.

The Historic Restoration Fund Grants (HRF) program by the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development provides financial support for maintaining and repairing non-profit and municipally owned buildings listed on the State or National Register of Historic Places.
