Government entities are not eligible for this Program. Funding is limited to events that do not already receive financial funding from the City. The City supplying in-kind services or waived fees does not count as financial funding in this context. The proposed event must not conflict with the City’s goals, core programs, and services. Program funding may be used for event-related expenses such as advertising, entertainment, equipment rental, rental of facilities, and/or security. Other funding uses may be granted if deemed during the application review and approval process to be in the Program’s spirit. These enterprises may be eligible where the production activity has an annual value of less than $1,000, even if products are not sold due to cultural factors. Education Grants should focus on a topic area of sustainable agriculture relevance that meets SARE’s program goals. The FY23-24 Drone Replacement Program is funded by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) to assist agencies in replacing non-compliant drones with those from approved manufacturers. The program was established following the 2022 amendment of Section 934.50, Florida Statutes, mandating agencies using non-compliant drones to replace them by specific deadlines. Eligible agencies will receive funds based on the initial purchase price and total flight hours of the non-compliant drones, following a detailed depreciation schedule. Recipients are required to relinquish the non-compliant drones in working condition to FDLE, which will then be analyzed by the Florida Center for Cybersecurity at the University of South Florida.
