The Gainesville Community Reinvestment Area (GCRA), a Department of the City of Gainesville, is offering this “Downtown Event Program” to assist organizations and businesses with up to $5,000 of grant funds to enable event programming within Downtown Gainesville. Eligibility Requirements  To be eligible, the event must be within Downtown Gainesville. Event must take place on publicly owned spaces (ex: parks, roads, etc.). Funding is available to both not-for-profit organizations as well as businesses and other entities putting on an event within Downtown Gainesville. Government entities are not eligible for this Program. Funding is limited to events that do not already receive financial funding from the City. The City supplying in-kind services or waived fees does not count as financial funding in this context. The proposed event must not conflict with the City’s goals, core programs, and services. Program funding may be used for event-related expenses such as advertising, entertainment, equipment rental, rental of facilities, and/or security. Other funding uses may be granted if deemed during the application review and approval process to be in the Program’s spirit. The Applicant is required to provide general liability insurance documentation as part of the Application and must include it post-event when submitting for the grant reimbursement. The event shall not have a predominantly religious or political purpose. The NIST Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), authorized by 15 U.S.C. 278k, is seeking applications from eligible applicants to enter into a cooperative agreement to operate an MEP Center in the State of Florida. The MEP Center will provide manufacturing extension services to small and mid-sized manufacturers (SMMs) in the State of Florida. The MEP Center will become part of the MEP National Network, which consists of 51 MEP Centers located in every State and Puerto Rico, and over 1,440 trusted advisors and experts at approximately 460 MEP service locations.

The FY23-24 Drone Replacement Program is funded by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) to assist agencies in replacing non-compliant drones with those from approved manufacturers. The program was established following the 2022 amendment of Section 934.50, Florida Statutes, mandating agencies using non-compliant drones to replace them by specific deadlines. Eligible agencies will receive funds based on the initial purchase price and total flight hours of the non-compliant drones, following a detailed depreciation schedule. Recipients are required to relinquish the non-compliant drones in working condition to FDLE, which will then be analyzed by the Florida Center for Cybersecurity at the University of South Florida. The Florida Department of State is seeking applications for its Cultural Facilities Grant. Donor Name: Florida Department of State State: Florida County: All Counties Type of Grant: Grant Deadline: 06/03/2024 Size of the Grant: $100,000 to $500,000 Grant Duration: 2 Years Details: The Cultural Facilities Program coordinates and guides the State of Florida’s support and funding of renovation, new construction, or acquisition of cultural facilities. It is intended for organizations whose mission is arts and cultural programming in one of the disciplines. The Division offers two levels of funding within the Cultural Facilities Program. These levels are determined by the specific use of the facility: A purpose-built or single use facility that will solely be used for the programming, production, presentation, exhibition of any of the arts and cultural disciplines (Section 265.283(7), Florida Statutes) at least 85% of the time. This type of facility includes theatres, performance centers, museums (including, aquariums, botanical gardens, history centers, zoos, etc.) and art centers. The maximum request amount for this type of facility is $500,000. A multi-purpose facility that will be used for the programming, production, presentation, exhibition of any of the arts and cultural disciplines (Section 265.283(7), Florida Statutes) less than 85% of the time. This type of building includes community centers, recreation centers, civic centers and municipal buildings. The maximum request amount for this type of facility is $200,000. Project costs must be directly related to the arts and cultural portion of the facility. Project Period 23 months. Eligibility Criteria The following conditions are required for eligibility. All documentation must be provided by the application deadline. Must not have multiple active Cultural Facilities projects under contract at one time. Cultural Facilities projects have a grant period of 23 months. Unless a grantee has a smaller project that will be completed in a single year, grantees should submit new applications every other year. Cultural Facilities is subject to Legislative appropriation and recommendations approved by the Secretary of State will be funded top-down until the appropriation is depleted. . Must use the facility to directly conduct arts and cultural programming. Documentation must be provided to support the percentage of facility use is for arts and cultural purposes as it pertains to the organization’s mission per section 265.283(1), Florida Statutes. Must have the required legal status. Must have unrestricted use of the land and buildings associated with the project which means you must be able to record a Restrictive Covenant on the property with the Clerk of Court for ten (10) years or provide a 10-year surety bond. Must retain ownership of all improvements made under the grant (unless the land or buildings are owned by the State of Florida and leased to an eligible applicant). If the property is leased, only facilities with leases in which the lessor is a public entity governed by either a municipality or county, or a not-for-profit entity are eligible for a Cultural Facilities grant (facilities or property owned by an individual or for-profit entity are not eligible for a Cultural Facilities grant). 9. If the property is leased, the lease agreement must be dated, signed by all parties, and submitted at the time of the application submission. 10. Must provide documentation of Total Support and Revenue for the last completed fiscal year. Must have appropriate matching funds and documentation at time of application submission. Must provide current architectural plans signed by a licensed architect or engineer clearly indicating scope of work. If architectural plans are not required for the completion of the project, contractor project proposals or working drawings must be provided. Must include budget estimate provided by the architect, engineer, or contractor that the Proposal Expense Details are based on. 3. Must have current project support of local officials (city and county government), community groups, and community members —for this project— documented in writing at time of application. Applicants with structures 50 years or older must submit a determination letter (stating that the proposed project will have NO adverse effects to the building’s historical significance) from the Division of Historical Resources (DHR) at time of application. Application Restrictions Organizations may only submit one (1) Cultural Facilities application per application deadline. Cultural Facilities grants do not fund Historic Preservation projects. Organizations with projects funded by the Legislature outside of the review of the Florida Council on Arts and Culture or Secretary of State are not eligible to receive Cultural Facilities grant support for the same Scope of Work from the Division of Arts and Culture within the same fiscal year in which legislative funding is appropriated. No organization may receive more than $1.5 million during a consecutive previous five state fiscal year period (July 1 – June 30). Legal Status To meet the legal status requirement, an applicant organization must be either a public entity or a Florida nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation as of the application deadline in accordance with section 265.701(2), Florida Statutes. Public Entity A Florida local government, entity of state government, school district, community college, college, or university. Private schools, private community colleges, private colleges, and private universities are not public entities and must be nonprofit and tax-exempt to meet the legal status requirement. Nonprofit, Tax-Exempt To apply to the Cultural Facilities grant program, an applicant must be both: Nonprofit: incorporated as an active nonprofit Florida corporation, in accordance with Chapter 617, Florida Statutes; and Tax-exempt: designated as tax-exempt as defined in section 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended. The Arts and Culture Access funding is designed to support the engagement of Orange County Public Schools students in the arts, which is associated with improvements in math, reading, cognitive abilities, critical thinking, verbal skills, motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork. This initiative facilitates students' development of these skills through field trips and in-school programs that are integrated into their class curriculum. The program welcomes applications year-round, with a primary funding decision period in late summer. For priority consideration, applications should be submitted by June 30th, following the opening of the application period on June 1st.

This program provides financial assistance to rural fire departments with populations of 10,000 or less for training and essential equipment to improve fire prevention and response efforts.

Florida Humanities invites public libraries and library systems to apply for funding to host English for Families, a multi-week series of interactive classes for adults and children (ages 6-12) that focuses on developing English vocabulary and literacy skills through strategic and fun story reading. Selected libraries will be required to host at least two series of 10 sessions each (meeting either once a week for ten weeks or twice a week for five weeks). Developed in partnership with the Orange County Library System (OCLS), English for Families is designed to specifically improve the language proficiency of individuals whose native language is not English (ESOL) by providing essential reading strategies needed for school-age children to achieve success in the classroom while also developing adults’ basic language skills.  English for Families is supported in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, and the National Endowment for the Arts.  Funding Information Requests may not exceed $8,000. Up to four libraries will be selected to host programming between July 2024 and May 2025. Eligibility Criteria Florida public libraries and library systems are eligible to apply. A friends group, library association, foundation, city or county government, or municipality may apply on behalf of a library or library system. Individuals, for-profit organizations, and foreign governments/organizations are not eligible for funding. Fiscal sponsors are ineligible to apply. Up to 4 libraries will be funded for 2024-2025. Program Requirements Libraries should have all of the following requirements to host the program:  A community meeting space with a projector and screen or access to a digital meeting platform to host programming  A qualified instructor and a library staff member or volunteer to facilitate programming. The instructor should be a certified English language instructor or have at least two years of professional teaching experience in literacy or similar field. The instructor can be a staff member or volunteer at the library if they have the proper qualifications. The Little Haiti Revitalization Trust is launching the Small Business Grant Program to support economic growth and revitalization in Little Haiti, Miami. The Trust will oversee and facilitate the city's revitalization efforts in line with the Five-Year Consolidated Plan. The program aims to stimulate employment, business growth, and investment within the Little Haiti boundaries. Eligible businesses can receive up to $20,000 for commercial improvements or $10,000 for innovation improvements, with a match option available. Funding can be used for various commercial improvements such as lighting, roofing, signage, ADA compliance, landscaping, and more. To qualify for funding, businesses must meet specific criteria including registration with the State of Florida before January 1, 2021; possession of a City of Miami-issued Certificate of Use; current status with Business Tax Receipt payments; operation within Little Haiti boundaries; and compliance with financial obligations to the City of Miami. The grant aims to support general program activities rather than specific projects. Funding can be used for conducting, creating, producing, presenting, staging or sponsoring cultural exhibits, performances, educational programs or events. It can also be used for providing professional services as a State Service Organization or Local Arts Agency. Eligibility: - All applicants must be either a public entity or a Florida non-profit tax-exempt corporation by the application deadline. - Ongoing arts and cultural programs within larger multipurpose institutions are eligible with restrictions. - Arts in Education program support is available for organizations promoting excellence in arts education. - Discipline-based program support is available for cultural and artistic programming in various areas such as dance, literature, media arts (film, radio or television), museum, music, presenter, theatre, traditional arts and visual arts. - Local Arts Agency program support is available for designated Local Arts Agencies (LAAs) that support arts and culture organizations and artists through advocacy and disseminating information. LAAs must be officially designated in at least one Florida county to apply. - State Service Organization program support is available for non-profit organizations operating on a permanent basis and providing services in at least 40 Florida counties. The Audience Access (AUD) Grant Program, administered by Francine Andersen, is a grant opportunity provided by the Miami-Dade County government. The program aims to fund arts program-related technology and services that ensure ADA compliance and programmatic access for audiences of all abilities. Examples of eligible services include American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters, captioning, audio description, Braille materials, ADA/access training, and other similar services. It is important to note that this grant program does not support entire projects/productions or major capital/facilities projects or improvements such as construction or renovation. The maximum grant request is $5,000, and funded projects will be paid on a reimbursement basis upon project completion and submission of a correct and complete final report with all required documentation. Applications must be submitted at least one month prior to the project/event start date, and applicants may apply once per fiscal year. Funding is limited and awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. Volusia County has U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Rapid Unsheltered Survivor Housing (RUSH) funds available for implementation of eligible rapid re-housing programs under the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) written standards. Assistance may only be provided to individuals or families who were homeless prior to Hurricane Ian, homeless as a result of Hurricane Ian, or whose needs are no longer met by the Temporary Shelter Assistance (TSA) program. Programs must serve the entire county and comply with the Commission on Homelessness and Housing (CoHH) for Volusia and Flagler Counties written standards. This funding is prohibited from serving Flager County. Funding Information The total amount of funding available is $1,175,990 contingent upon funding availability. Up to 5% of the funds are available for program administration. Applicants will have approximately 20 months from the date the agreements are fully executed to fully expend the funds.
