This program provides financial support to local governments, tribal governments, nonprofits, and educational institutions in Florida to improve urban forestry initiatives and expand community tree canopies.

The Council on Culture & Arts is accepting applications for the 2025 grant programs. Applicant programming must meet at least one of the following goals: Offer arts, history, or cultural programs with exemplary standards and objectives. Provide educational opportunities in arts, culture, and/or history for young people or adults. Serve a special or diverse population or need, fill a unique niche or engage the community in the creative or artistic process. Funds for the Cultural Grant come from Leon County’s Tourist Development Tax (TDT) revenue. Therefore, applicants must also meet all of the following expectations: In addition to arts and culture, the applicant must have as one of its main purposes the attraction of tourists, as evidenced by the promotion of the activity, service, venue, or event to tourists. Applicant must clearly identify public relations/promotional/marketing tactics used to reach visitors outside of Leon County. Applicant must have a marketing plan that clearly indicates out-of-market advertising or promotion. Applicant must track and report the number of out-of-county visitors served by the grant-funded programs. Cultural Tourism Marketing Grant Applicants who meet all the Cultural Grant requirements may request an additional $3,500 to support out-of-county marketing and promotion of arts and cultural programs. Funds for this grant also come from Leon County’s Tourist Development Tax revenue. Local Community Grant The Local Community Grant funds programming expenses arts, culture, history or heritage organizations. Applicant programming must meet at least one of the following goals: Offer arts, history, or cultural programs with exemplary standards and objectives. Eligibility Criteria  Applicants must be one of the following: A not-for-profit Florida corporation with at least 60% of your operating cash budget originating from earned income and classified by the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) as a 501I3, sub-class “public charity”. A state partner (i.e., a department, museum, or other organization working under the FEID number of a part of the State of Florida, Florida State University, Florida A&M University, or Tallahassee State College). Applicant must have a governing Board of Directors that meets regularly and operates under a set of by-laws. Applicant must be able to demonstrate the receipt of community support through subscriptions, memberships, earned income, foundation grants, and/or other private fundraising (including in- kind support). Applicant must have documented statistics on attendance and participation for your programs and/or facility (paid or free) that represent a broad community impact. The NIST Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), authorized by 15 U.S.C. 278k, is seeking applications from eligible applicants to enter into a cooperative agreement to operate an MEP Center in the State of Florida. The MEP Center will provide manufacturing extension services to small and mid-sized manufacturers (SMMs) in the State of Florida. The MEP Center will become part of the MEP National Network, which consists of 51 MEP Centers located in every State and Puerto Rico, and over 1,440 trusted advisors and experts at approximately 460 MEP service locations.

The FY23-24 Drone Replacement Program is funded by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) to assist agencies in replacing non-compliant drones with those from approved manufacturers. The program was established following the 2022 amendment of Section 934.50, Florida Statutes, mandating agencies using non-compliant drones to replace them by specific deadlines. Eligible agencies will receive funds based on the initial purchase price and total flight hours of the non-compliant drones, following a detailed depreciation schedule. Recipients are required to relinquish the non-compliant drones in working condition to FDLE, which will then be analyzed by the Florida Center for Cybersecurity at the University of South Florida. The Florida Department of State is seeking applications for its Cultural Facilities Grant. Donor Name: Florida Department of State State: Florida County: All Counties Type of Grant: Grant Deadline: 06/03/2024 Size of the Grant: $100,000 to $500,000 Grant Duration: 2 Years Details: The Cultural Facilities Program coordinates and guides the State of Florida’s support and funding of renovation, new construction, or acquisition of cultural facilities. It is intended for organizations whose mission is arts and cultural programming in one of the disciplines. The Division offers two levels of funding within the Cultural Facilities Program. These levels are determined by the specific use of the facility: A purpose-built or single use facility that will solely be used for the programming, production, presentation, exhibition of any of the arts and cultural disciplines (Section 265.283(7), Florida Statutes) at least 85% of the time. This type of facility includes theatres, performance centers, museums (including, aquariums, botanical gardens, history centers, zoos, etc.) and art centers. The maximum request amount for this type of facility is $500,000. A multi-purpose facility that will be used for the programming, production, presentation, exhibition of any of the arts and cultural disciplines (Section 265.283(7), Florida Statutes) less than 85% of the time. This type of building includes community centers, recreation centers, civic centers and municipal buildings. The maximum request amount for this type of facility is $200,000. Project costs must be directly related to the arts and cultural portion of the facility. Project Period 23 months. Eligibility Criteria The following conditions are required for eligibility. All documentation must be provided by the application deadline. Must not have multiple active Cultural Facilities projects under contract at one time. Cultural Facilities projects have a grant period of 23 months. Unless a grantee has a smaller project that will be completed in a single year, grantees should submit new applications every other year. Cultural Facilities is subject to Legislative appropriation and recommendations approved by the Secretary of State will be funded top-down until the appropriation is depleted. . Must use the facility to directly conduct arts and cultural programming. Documentation must be provided to support the percentage of facility use is for arts and cultural purposes as it pertains to the organization’s mission per section 265.283(1), Florida Statutes. Must have the required legal status. Must have unrestricted use of the land and buildings associated with the project which means you must be able to record a Restrictive Covenant on the property with the Clerk of Court for ten (10) years or provide a 10-year surety bond. Must retain ownership of all improvements made under the grant (unless the land or buildings are owned by the State of Florida and leased to an eligible applicant). If the property is leased, only facilities with leases in which the lessor is a public entity governed by either a municipality or county, or a not-for-profit entity are eligible for a Cultural Facilities grant (facilities or property owned by an individual or for-profit entity are not eligible for a Cultural Facilities grant). 9. If the property is leased, the lease agreement must be dated, signed by all parties, and submitted at the time of the application submission. 10. Must provide documentation of Total Support and Revenue for the last completed fiscal year. Must have appropriate matching funds and documentation at time of application submission. Must provide current architectural plans signed by a licensed architect or engineer clearly indicating scope of work. If architectural plans are not required for the completion of the project, contractor project proposals or working drawings must be provided. Must include budget estimate provided by the architect, engineer, or contractor that the Proposal Expense Details are based on. 3. Must have current project support of local officials (city and county government), community groups, and community members —for this project— documented in writing at time of application. Applicants with structures 50 years or older must submit a determination letter (stating that the proposed project will have NO adverse effects to the building’s historical significance) from the Division of Historical Resources (DHR) at time of application. Application Restrictions Organizations may only submit one (1) Cultural Facilities application per application deadline. Cultural Facilities grants do not fund Historic Preservation projects. Organizations with projects funded by the Legislature outside of the review of the Florida Council on Arts and Culture or Secretary of State are not eligible to receive Cultural Facilities grant support for the same Scope of Work from the Division of Arts and Culture within the same fiscal year in which legislative funding is appropriated. No organization may receive more than $1.5 million during a consecutive previous five state fiscal year period (July 1 – June 30). Legal Status To meet the legal status requirement, an applicant organization must be either a public entity or a Florida nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation as of the application deadline in accordance with section 265.701(2), Florida Statutes. Public Entity A Florida local government, entity of state government, school district, community college, college, or university. Private schools, private community colleges, private colleges, and private universities are not public entities and must be nonprofit and tax-exempt to meet the legal status requirement. Nonprofit, Tax-Exempt To apply to the Cultural Facilities grant program, an applicant must be both: Nonprofit: incorporated as an active nonprofit Florida corporation, in accordance with Chapter 617, Florida Statutes; and Tax-exempt: designated as tax-exempt as defined in section 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended. The Arts and Culture Access funding is designed to support the engagement of Orange County Public Schools students in the arts, which is associated with improvements in math, reading, cognitive abilities, critical thinking, verbal skills, motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork. This initiative facilitates students' development of these skills through field trips and in-school programs that are integrated into their class curriculum. The program welcomes applications year-round, with a primary funding decision period in late summer. For priority consideration, applications should be submitted by June 30th, following the opening of the application period on June 1st.

The Specialty Crop Assistance program, administered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), provides assistance for eligible expenses related to COVID-19 that benefit the production and distribution of Florida specialty crops. Eligible expenses include Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and facility adjustments for worker and product safety. The program is open to specialty crop growers, processors, and distributors. Funding is provided through the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, with a minimum reimbursement of $565.00 and a maximum reimbursement of $300,000.00 over the life of the project. The program has a total fund availability of $2,735,124.99, and applications will be processed on a first come first served basis until funds are depleted. The grant aims to support general program activities rather than specific projects. Funding can be used for conducting, creating, producing, presenting, staging or sponsoring cultural exhibits, performances, educational programs or events. It can also be used for providing professional services as a State Service Organization or Local Arts Agency. Eligibility: - All applicants must be either a public entity or a Florida non-profit tax-exempt corporation by the application deadline. - Ongoing arts and cultural programs within larger multipurpose institutions are eligible with restrictions. - Arts in Education program support is available for organizations promoting excellence in arts education. - Discipline-based program support is available for cultural and artistic programming in various areas such as dance, literature, media arts (film, radio or television), museum, music, presenter, theatre, traditional arts and visual arts. - Local Arts Agency program support is available for designated Local Arts Agencies (LAAs) that support arts and culture organizations and artists through advocacy and disseminating information. LAAs must be officially designated in at least one Florida county to apply. - State Service Organization program support is available for non-profit organizations operating on a permanent basis and providing services in at least 40 Florida counties.
