Online Resources for Starting Businesses. Economic inclusion describes the efforts made to bring DBEs into the economic mainstream. For the purposes of BERO, DBE refers to businesses owned by women, minorities, veterans and persons with disabilities; as well as those in areas of chronic high unemployment and low income. BERO was legislatively established within the Department of Economic and Community Development in 1977 by Title 4, Chapter 26 as the office of business enterprise. Serves as a voice for and advocate of economic inclusion; Analyzes, disseminates, and promotes best practices and access to capital to service providers; and Reports on the status of DBEs statewide (disadvantaged businesses).

The BlueAngel Community Health Grant program at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island aims to fund organizations and programs that will result in more Rhode Islanders being able to afford safe, healthy, and stable housing. The program seeks to increase awareness about safe, affordable housing as a shared public concern and highlight solutions to support access to safe and affordable housing. The grant is open to Rhode Island nonprofit agencies that have qualified for exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code or are public instrumentalities. Funding amounts historically range from $25,000 per year to $75,000 per year. Applicants are invited to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI), which will be reviewed by a BCBSRI LOI Review Subcommittee. Selected agencies will then be invited to submit full proposals for funding. Site visits will be conducted by Community Relations staff with each of the finalist organizations. This program provides affordable funding to develop essential community facilities in rural areas. An essential community facility is defined as a facility that provides an essential service to the local community for the orderly development of the community in a primarily rural area, and does not include private, commercial or business undertakings. Funds can be used to purchase, construct, and / or improve essential community facilities, purchase equipment and pay related project expenses. Examples of essential community facilities include: -Health care facilities such as hospitals, medical clinics, dental clinics, nursing homes or assisted living facilities -Public facilities such as town halls, courthouses, airport hangars or street improvements -Community support services such as child care centers, community centers, fairgrounds or transitional housing -Public safety services such as fire departments, police stations, prisons, police vehicles, fire trucks, public works vehicles or equipment -Educational services such as museums, libraries or private schools -Utility services such as telemedicine or distance learning equipment -Local food systems such as community gardens, food pantries, community kitchens, food banks, food hubs or greenhouses What are the funding priorities? ---Priority point system based on population, median household income -Small communities with a population of 5,500 or less -Low-income communities having a median household income below 80% of the state nonmetropolitan median household income.

Subject to the availability of funds, awards made under this NOFO will help communities and regions devise and implement long-term economic recovery strategies through a variety of non-construction and construction projects, as appropriate, to address economic challenges in areas where a Presidential declaration of a major disaster was issued under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 5121 et seq.) (Stafford Act) as a result of Hurricanes Ian and Fiona, and of wildfires, flooding, and other natural disasters occurring in calendar years 2021 and 2022. The Otto Bremer Trust is a private charitable trust based in St. Paul, Minn. Created in 1944 by Otto Bremer, it is committed to supporting a better quality of life for residents of Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, and Wisconsin. Typical uses could include support for an organization’s administrative and infrastructure costs, maintaining core programs and/or staffing. This application is for organizations seeking $75,000 or more in general operations support. - General Operations Short Application: This application is for organizations seeking general operations support of less than $75,000. - Restricted Application: Restricted grants provide funding for a specific program or project. These funds may not be used for other purposes, although a portion may be utilized for overhead or indirect costs of administering the program or project. - Capital Application: Capital grants support constructing, repairing, renovating, or rehabilitating an organization’s physical space. Capital grants can also support the purchase of equipment necessary for an organization to carry out its work.

Stark Community Foundation and its family of donors help improve the lives of area residents by providing Community Responsive Grants to local organizations in support of community-based programs and services. Grants are awarded from the Foundation's Community Charitable Fund to areas such as arts, education, environment, health, human services and neighborhoods. Donors also provide grant funding in scholarships and directly to organizations through their established Donor Advised Funds, Designated Funds and Field of Interest Funds.

The Embassy of the United States of America in New Delhi announces an open competition to implement a project to increase Indian engagement as a regional leader with like-minded partners across the Indo-Pacific. This will be accomplished via a three -day residency in India for 15 established opinion leaders (EOLs) from the think tank space in the United States, Japan, Australia, South Asia, and Southeast Asia along with 15 counterparts from India. Please follow all instructions below.By March 2025, 15 EOL think tankers from participating countries will demonstrate a recognized attitude shift and perspective/behavior change toward the United States, make data-informed decisions as evidenced by writing at least 15 joint research papers/articles on regional cooperation and best practices in the Indo-Pacific under varied Indo-Pacific Strategy Pillars. The UN-Habitat Scroll of Honour Award is currently accepting nominations for its 2024 round. The award recognizes individuals and institutions that have made outstanding contributions to urban development, including improving the quality of urban life and providing adequate, affordable, and accessible housing. Nominations must come from third parties before the deadline of May 17, 2024. The winners, selected by the Executive Director of UN-Habitat following recommendations by a panel of experts, will receive the UN-Habitat Scroll of Honour Award at the global celebration of World Habitat Day in Querétaro City, Mexico, on October 7, 2024. The award considers best practices and initiatives aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 11 on sustainable cities and communities. Special attention will be given to initiatives related to the theme of World Habitat Day 2024: "Engaging youth to create a better urban future."
