Work Force Development Empowering the District of Columbia to remain a city for people of all ages and at all stages of life, means fighting to protect the middle class. Eligibility Criteria  Applicants shall meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the FY24 SYEP Grant: The organization is a community-based organization with a Federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and is licensed as a business with the District of Columbia’s Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP); The organization’s principal place of business must be located in the District of Columbia; if the business is a national or regional organization, then it must have a location in the District through which it provides services; The organization must provide direct services to District residents or collaborate with an organization that provides services to District residents; All services and programming funded by the grant must be provided within the District of Columbia; The organization must be currently registered and in good standing with DLCP and the Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR). Must be a licensed child care organization (for before/after school, school-age program, or camp license), an entity that has an active application in process to be a licensed child care organization, or an exempt entity from child care licensing by the State of Michigan Licensing Bureau 1973 PA 116, MCL 722.111 to 722.128. Upon award, programs with an active child care or camp licensing application must complete the process before the entity starts service and funds will be released. Upon completion, the entity must submit a copy of the approved license to the MiLEAP-OST Team. At least 80 days of program services during the school year for at least 15 students 1 hour before school, or 2 hours after-school, or 3.5 hours for both (before-and after-school), and/or at least 4 hours per day for a minimum of 24 days during the summer for at least 15 students.  Must be used to support expanded learning opportunities, including, but not limited to, mentoring, leadership, community engagement, agriculture, visual and performing arts, literacy, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, financial literacy, health and wellness, physical fitness, recreation, career and college exploration, youth voice, 21st-century skills, conflict resolution, and social engagement programming. Description of collaborative work with other organizations. Grantees will be required to document how collaboration with other entities affects operations and programming. Environment In 2024, the Community Impact Fund will support the environment by funding organizations and programs that address environmental stewardship and/or education. Nature education, energy and water conservation, land stewardship, wildlife protection, recycling and repurposing, and maintaining dark skies are all priorities that will be considered. Grantees will be evaluated on one or more of the following measures: Number of unduplicated residents served. Grantees will submit a record of unduplicated residents/clients served. Number of acres or geographical areas affected by the grant. Grantees will be required to document the geographical areas its funding affected. Economic and environmental impact. Youth Development  In 2024, the Community Impact Fund will support the next generation by funding organizations and programs that work with children and youth, from birth through age 21. Grantees will be evaluated on one or more of the following measures: Number of unduplicated children and youth served. Grantees will submit a record of unduplicated children/youth served. The quality of the safe and/or supportive environment. Grantees will be required to document where and how they create, provide, and/or maintain a safe and/or supportive environment for children and youth. Types of Support  Applicant organizations should decide whether to apply for general operating support or for program support; either type of request is eligible for the Community Impact Fund. Organizations may use the funds for administrative purposes, to meet monthly obligations, to support programming, pay salaries, or to meet other organizational needs. For general operating support requests, organizations must submit a current strategic plan that covers two or more years of operations. Program Support is funding for a specific program of an organization. Funds can be used for any element of the program’s budget. For program support requests, organizations must submit a program budget.  Eligibility Criteria  Applicants must: Be located in or providing services to residents in Bandera, Blanco, Edwards, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Mason, Real, or Uvalde counties.
