Eligibility Criteria  To be eligible to apply, your organization must be established in the United States or its jurisdictions as one of the following organization types: a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code an accredited institution of higher education (public or nonprofit) a state or local government or one of their agencies a federally recognized Native American Tribal government If your organization is eligible, you are encouraged to partner with independent producers and other skilled professionals to carry out programmatic activities. Under this arrangement, the applicant organization submits the application on behalf of the partnership(s). Applicant organizations must not function solely as fiscal agents or fiscal sponsors but must make substantive contributions to the success of the project. Transportation (up to $1,500) Transportation funding is designed to assist organizations that have a need to transport participants in “field trip” style events to engage in arts and cultural programming/services/activities. The transportation costs may be associated with in-state and out-of-state travel. The transportation funding may be related to (or may be separate from) any other project applied for within the Mission Support grant application. The funding may be used in one (or both) of the following ways: Transporting a group of participants to the applicant’s venue to participate in the applicant’s arts and cultural programming/services/activities. Transporting a group of the applicant’s participants to a different organization’s venue to participate in arts and cultural programming/services/activities. Arts Education (up to $10,000) Arts Education funding is designed to assist organizations in projects that partner directly with schools to provide arts and culture programming/services/activities that specifically enhance pre-established curriculum for students at those schools. Projects may take place either at the applicant’s facility or inside the classroom of the PreK-12 partner school. The YouthBuild program model prepares participants for quality jobs in a variety of careers, in diverse industry sectors, particularly in infrastructure sectors, and includes wrap-around services such as mentoring, trauma-informed care, personal counseling, transportation supports, and employment preparation - all key strategies for addressing violence in communities. YouthBuild applicants must include construction skills training and may include occupational skills training in other in-demand industries. This expansion into additional in-demand industries is the Construction Plus component. Eligible applicants for these grants are public or private non-profit agencies or organizations, including consortia of such agencies or organizations. These organizations include rural, urban, or Native American/Tribal entities that have previously served opportunity youth in a YouthBuild or other similar program. DOL will fund approximately 75 projects across the country. Individual grants will range from $700,000 to $1.5 million and require a 25 percent match from applicants, using sources other than federal funding. This FOA features a matching waiver for Tribal entities and U.S. insular areas which allows these entities to not include a match commitment in their applications.
