The purpose of the program is to provide resources to graduate-level students in medical (MD/DO), physician assistant (PA), nurse practitioner (NP) and other eligible nursing programs (clinical nurse specialists (CNS), certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA), certified nurse midwives (CNM) practices) receive the theoretical knowledge and practical training required for them to treat opioid use disorders (OUD) and prescribe medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) in office-based settings upon graduation and receipt of licensure.

The purpose of this program is to support Community-Led Monitoring of HIV services at selected health service sites to promote improvements in the HIV response under the Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).Community-led monitoring (CLM) is a technique initiated and implemented by local community-based organizations and other civil society groups, networks of key populations (KP), people living with HIV (PLHIV), and other affected groups or other community entities that gathers quantitative and qualitative data about HIV services. The focus is on getting input from recipients of HIV services, especially key populations and underserved groups, in a routine and systematic manner that will translate into action and change. CLM is central to PEPFAR’s client-centered approach because it helps puts communities, their needs, and their voices at the center of the HIV response. Why does PEPFAR support Community-Led Monitoring? CLM conducted by local civil society organizations helps PEPFAR programs and health institutions diagnose and pinpoint persistent problems, challenges, and barriers related to HIV service access, uptake, and retention at the community and facility level. CLM aims to improve HIV service delivery and client outcomes by identifying data-driven solutions to overcome barriers and ensure beneficiaries receive optimal client-centered HIV services in a manner that is productive, collaborative, respectful, and solutions-oriented. Who does PEPFAR fund for CLM? PEPFAR-supported CLM is conducted objectively by independent, local community organizations. PEPFAR implementing partners who currently work on service delivery at the site level are not eligible for CLM funding, even if they will sub-grant to a local civil society organization. What is monitored and how? Systematic and routine, with follow up and continuous improvement. Tailored to the needs identified by local communities, with communities directly determining the scope. Allow for community and host country government development of the specific metrics, measures, or tools to be used for CLM. Metrics or measures should be tailored to a given context and address the specific needs and concerns of community members. Triangulated with, but not duplicative of, other PEPFAR data streams. Community-led monitoring data should reflect an ‘added value’ and not duplicate collection of routine data already available to PEPFAR. ‘Added value’ monitoring data includes: information from beneficiaries about their experience with the health facility, information about barriers and enablers to access and retention in services, etc. Productive, collaborative, respectful, and solutions-oriented. Action-oriented with an associated follow-up process with the health facility that is overseen by U.S. government staff, committed to corrective public health action, and involves community advocacy to improve service outcomes

The FY 2024 Strategic Prevention Framework-Partnerships for Success (SPF-PFS) funding opportunity from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) targets substance misuse prevention and mental health promotion across communities, universities, colleges, local governments, and tribal organizations. This program aims to enhance local and tribal prevention capacity, particularly within underserved communities. Grants are awarded for up to five years, with a maximum of $375,000 per year. The total available funding is estimated at $15.5 million for FY 2024. Applications are due by February 21, 2024, with projects expected to begin by September 30, 2024. Notably, organizations already funded under similar SAMHSA grants in recent years are ineligible to apply to avoid overlap with existing initiatives. The grant prioritizes activities that promote culturally competent and sustainable prevention services. Required activities include conducting needs assessments, engaging local stakeholders, developing prevention strategies, and implementing monitoring and evaluation measures. Projects should aim to reduce substance use issues, including underage drinking, opioid misuse, and tobacco use. SAMHSA encourages coordination with local and state agencies, specifically through SPF-PFS State awardees when applicable. Applications must include a project narrative (10-page maximum), budget justifications, letters of commitment from partners, and a data collection plan. Key personnel, such as a Project Director and Data Analyst, are required to devote at least 0.5 FTE each to the project. Successful applicants will also create a Disparity Impact Statement to outline plans for addressing behavioral health disparities in their target communities. Evaluation of applications will consider factors such as community need, clarity of the project plan, organizational experience, and cost-effectiveness. Applications that prioritize underserved communities are eligible for bonus points. Awardees must submit quarterly and annual performance reports detailing project outcomes, including data on individuals reached and changes in local substance misuse patterns.

This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) encourages the development and validation of animal models and human/animal tissue ex vivo systems that recapitulate the phenotypic and physiologic characteristics of a defined neurological or neuromuscular disorder. The United States Agency for International Development in Democratic Republic of Congo (USAID/DRC) is seeking applications for a Fixed Amount Award (FAA) Cooperative Agreement from qualified entities to implement the USAID Espoir 2030 in Haut Katanga. Eligibility for this award is restricted to local non-governmental entities as defined in ADS 303.6. USAID intends to make an award to the applicant who best meets the objectives of this funding opportunity based on the merit review criteria described in this NOFO subject to a risk assessment. Eligible parties interested in submitting an application are encouraged to read this NOFO thoroughly to understand the type of program sought, application submission requirements and selection process. USAID/DRC envisions that the USAID Espoir 2030 Haut-Katanga award will be five-year long activities that will focus on service delivery in three (3) zones outside Lubumbashi. The activity will collaborate with existing (EpiC, IHP, Chemonics Francophone Task Order) and other USAID and development partners implementing HIV programming. The number of health zones supported in the province can change depending on PEPFAR and the GDRC orientations. The service delivery model intends that each activity in a specific province will include all aspects of HIV epidemic control, Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and key populations (KPs) programming, to ensure smooth transition of the existing key populations program (EpiC).
