NIEHS invites applications for cooperative agreements to support the development of model programs for the training and education of workers engaged in activities related to hazardous materials and waste generation, removal, containment, transportation and emergency response. The training programs will transmit skills and knowledge to workers in how best to protect themselves and their communities from exposure to hazardous materials encountered during hazardous waste operations, hazardous materials transportation, environmental restoration of contaminated facilities or chemical emergency response. Healthcare: Health care access and delivery is a major problem in the State’s rural areas. Residents often need to travel great distances to seek health care services due to health workforce shortages. This problem is in primary care and is particularly acute in specialty care such as surgical specialties, dentistry, mental health, and other medical specialty areas. This Notice informs that NIA intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) inviting applications from mid-career investigators for mentored career enhancement awards focused on cross-disciplinary training to broaden and strengthen the investigator's capability to lead future comparative studies of the factors contributing to differences in life spans between human and nonhuman primate species.
