The 2023 Property Tax Relief Grant is a one-time grant proposed by Governor Brian Kemp to refund $950 million in property taxes to homestead owners in Georgia. The grant, also known as the Homestead Tax Relief Grant, was signed into law on March 13, 2023. The Department of Revenue has been allocated $950 million to reduce the assessed value of Georgia homesteads by $18,000. To receive the grant, property owners will see a $18,000 reduction in the assessed value of their property. Local tax officials will notify the Department of Revenue of the anticipated revenue, and the Department of Revenue will issue credits to the local taxing authorities. The grant does not apply to rental properties and is only available to homesteads claimed by Georgia taxpayers before the April 1 deadline. It is important to note that the Property Tax Relief Grant is different from a homestead exemption. Georgia offers various homestead exemptions, including exemptions for seniors over 65, disabled veterans, and surviving spouses of public safety officers. The grant program was created in the late 1990s and discontinued after the 2008 Recession, but it has been reinstated due to the State's excess reserves. The grant does not provide a paper check or direct deposit, but rather appears as a reduction on the property tax bill.

OAJJA: Behavioral Health Information and Data Sharing Grant Program Overview: The Behavioral Health Information and Data Sharing Grant Program provides funding to support county jails in onboarding and integrating with the Colorado Trusted Interoperability Platform (CTIP). This initiative aims to exchange behavioral health, housing, and demographic information with the Colorado Integrated Criminal Justice Information System (CICJIS) to ensure continuity of care for individuals transitioning between criminal justice agencies and the community. Program Description: Purpose of the Funds: The goal of the Behavioral Health Information and Data Sharing Grant Program, established by SB22-196, is to facilitate the exchange of behavioral health, housing, and demographic information with CICJIS. This exchange will be accomplished by establishing an information exchange platform within CICJIS to improve criminal justice, health, and safety outcomes. Statutory Authority: 24-33.5-532. Behavioral health information and data-sharing in the criminal justice system. Eligibility: Every Colorado county is eligible for a grant. Counties lacking an existing electronic jail management system infrastructure may face challenges in completing required activities. Eligible Activities: Integrating county jail data systems with CICJIS. Standardizing client-specific information through common data fields. Automating data reporting required by state and federal law. Required Application Components: All grant applications must address the following: Justifiable project costs. Plans to use technology meeting state standards. Addition of all data exchange requirements to the applicant's jail management system.
