With this solicitation, BJA seeks to support efforts by state, local, and federally recognized American Indian tribal governments to establish and enhance community courts in their jurisdictions. This program furthers the DOJs mission by providing resources to communities to enhance public safety and build trust between law enforcement and the community.

With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks applications for funding to support cross-system collaboration to improve responses and outcomes for youth under the age of 18 or youth under the jurisdiction of the juvenile justice system with mental health disorders (MHD) or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders (MHSUDs) who come in contact with the juvenile justice system. This program supports public safety efforts through partnerships with youth justice, mental health, and substance use agencies to enhance responses to justice-involved youth with MHD and MHSUDs.

The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) is the component of the U.S. Department of Justice responsible for advancing the practice of community policing by the nations state, local, territorial, and tribal law enforcement agencies through information and grant resources. The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office, https://cops.usdoj.gov) is pleased to announce that it is seeking applications for funding for the FY 24 Tribal Resources Grant Program Technical Assistance (TRGP-TA) Alaska Tribal Law Enforcement Technical Assistance Project. FY24 TRGP-TA funds will be used to support technical assistance efforts to assist Alaska Tribes with law enforcementspecific needs, including starting law enforcement agencies, developing policies and procedures, addressing jurisdictional challenges, and other needs unique to Alaska Tribes and tribal law enforcement. Program funds will also support the development of a current State of Tribal Law Enforcement in Alaska report with an assessment of tribal law enforcement services and needs, challenges, areas of greatest need, and any unique barriers. The assessment will help shape technical assistance offered under the program along with areas for the COPS Office to focus on in future efforts.

With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to provide support to CACs through a variety of subgrant assistance designed to enhance effective interventions in child abuse cases. CACs provide a coordinated response to child abuse victims through multidisciplinary teams composed of representatives from the agencies involved in the intervention, prevention, prosecution, and investigation systems that respond to child abuse.

With this solicitation, BJA seeks to provide financial and technical assistance to states, state courts, local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized Indian tribal governments to plan, implement, and enhance the operations of VTCs including service coordination, participant service and supervision coordination, fidelity to the VTC model, and recovery support services. VTCs effectively integrate evidence-based substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, mental health disorder (MHD) treatment, treatment for co-occurring disorders, mandatory drug testing, incentives and sanctions, and transitional services in judicially supervised criminal court settings that have jurisdiction over veterans with treatment needs in order to reduce recidivism, increase access to treatment and recovery support, and prevent overdose.

The FY23-24 Drone Replacement Program is funded by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) to assist agencies in replacing non-compliant drones with those from approved manufacturers. The program was established following the 2022 amendment of Section 934.50, Florida Statutes, mandating agencies using non-compliant drones to replace them by specific deadlines. Eligible agencies will receive funds based on the initial purchase price and total flight hours of the non-compliant drones, following a detailed depreciation schedule. Recipients are required to relinquish the non-compliant drones in working condition to FDLE, which will then be analyzed by the Florida Center for Cybersecurity at the University of South Florida. Criminal Justice Information Data Security: Acceptance of this award, constitutes understanding that transmission of Criminal Justice Information (CJI) between locations must be encrypted to conform to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy.

This grant offers financial support to Illinois police agencies from municipalities, counties, park districts, public universities, and all units of local government. The funding is intended for the reimbursement of expenses related to the purchase of in-car video cameras for law enforcement vehicles and officer-worn body cameras. It also covers data storage costs associated with the use of these cameras and training for law enforcement officers on how to operate the cameras. The grant emphasizes the importance of complying with all statutory obligations and training mandates to ensure eligibility for the reimbursement, which includes a specific cost limit per item and requires documentation like paid invoices or receipts for each reimbursable item.

Grants are available for local law enforcement agencies to cover initial capital expenditures and other costs related to the expansion and support of the National Integrated Ballistics Information Network (NIBIN) and other ballistic technology equipment. This funding opportunity aims to assist agencies that have not yet purchased NIBIN equipment, or those needing expansion or support items. Grantees can request advance working capital to initiate or enhance their NIBIN program and may also seek reimbursement for additional funds to be used over the next two years.

With this solicitation, BJA seeks to support law enforcement agencies that have an intellectual property (IP) enforcement task force or plan to create one. The Intellectual Property Enforcement Program assists state, local, and tribal jurisdictions in preventing and reducing intellectual property theft and related crime as well as supporting law enforcement in investigating and prosecuting IP crimes and reducing violent crime associated with IP cases and investigations. Any awards under this solicitation would be made under statutory authority provided by the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024. As of the writing of this solicitation, the Department of Justice is operating under a short-term Continuing Resolution with no full-year appropriation for the Department being enacted for FY 2024 currently. Specific Information The Intellectual Property Enforcement Program: Protecting Public Health, Safety, and the Economy from Counterfeit Goods and Product Piracy is specifically designed to support jurisdictions in investigating and prosecuting intellectual property crimes. This will be accomplished by assisting state, local, and tribal jurisdictions to build partnerships with federal agencies and prosecutors through IP enforcement task forces. This program also works to prevent and reduce intellectual property theft and related crimes by improving community and buyer awareness. IPEP includes an educational component to assist buyers in determining the authenticity of seemingly legitimate websites that instead deceive consumers into purchasing counterfeit goods. Solicitation Goals and Objectives Goals The goal of this program is to improve the coordination of IP enforcement efforts among federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial authorities. This coordination will include IP task force members and federal agencies meeting to update, discuss, and collaborate on IP investigations, prosecutions, training, and public awareness activities. The information to be shared through these task forces must include information about targeting, investigating, analyzing, and prosecuting matters involving IP crimes as they relate to violations of state and local criminal statutes and federal prosecutions. Objectives • Improve coordination of IP enforcement efforts among federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial authorities. • Establish and/or enhance state, local, tribal, or territorial IP enforcement task forces, to include campus law enforcement agencies. Deliverables • Provide information to update the United States Department of Justice’s Prioritizing Resources and Organization for Intellectual Property (PRO IP) Act Annual Report. • Provide updates to the OJP Program Plan. Notice of Funding Availability - FY24 Arizona Automobile Theft Authority AATA Grant programs are available for Law Enforcement, Training and Theft Prevention projects to Arizona Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice agencies. End of FY24 AATA Grant funding available prior to June 30, 2024.  Grant extensions may be requested beyond June 30th to allow for procurement and program implementation. Grant applications require the approval of the AATA Board of Directors. The New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) is making up to $3M in Title I Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Statewide Activities funding available under the Apprenticeship Expansion Grant (AEG-4) Request for Applications (RFA). The purpose of this RFA is to expand New York State (NYS) Registered Apprenticeship (RA) training by increasing employment opportunities for approximately 130 apprentices, with a focus on underrepresented populations. These apprentices will enter trades in high-demand occupations, with a focus on the emerging fields of Advanced Manufacturing, Healthcare, Hospitality, and Information Technology, as well as other in-demand occupations. Please note that this solicitation focuses on promoting the expansion of NYS RAs and as such, RAs in the field of Construction are not eligible for funding under this RFA unless the trade is to be used for the upkeep and maintenance of a facility owned by the business entity employing the apprentice, such as plant maintenance trades.

With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to support communities to assist girls age 17 and younger who are at risk of involvement and/or involved in the juvenile justice system. Funding will support communities to develop, enhance, or expand early intervention programs and/or treatment services for girls involved in the juvenile justice system. The goal of this program is to reduce risk factors and promote protective factors for girls who come in contact with the juvenile justice system, and place them on a path toward success, stability, and long-term contribution to society.

With this solicitation, OJP seeks to prevent and reduce violent crime in communities by supporting comprehensive, evidence-based community-based violence intervention and prevention programs. These programs include efforts to address gang and gun violence, based on partnerships among community residents, local government agencies, victim service providers, community-based organizations, law enforcement, hospitals, researchers, and other community stakeholders. OJP’s Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is administering the opportunity, working in partnership with OJP’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and Office for Victims of Crime (OVC). This collaborative approach will help ensure jurisdictions have access to expertise to address community violence that involves youth, young adults, and adults, both as the individuals responsible for perpetrating this violence and as those who are victims of it. Awards made under this solicitation may be managed by BJA, OJJDP, or OVC, depending on the nature of the project.

The New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) is making up to $2 million in State Apprenticeship Expansion Formula (SAEF) funding available under the Direct Entry Pre-Apprenticeship Programs (DEPA) Request for Applications (RFA). The purpose of the RFA is to: 1. Provide funding for DEPA programs to support approximately 300 participants; and2. Support entry into NYS Registered Apprenticeship (RA) programs for underrepresented populations including women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans.NYSDOL is particularly interested in supporting DEPA programs that provide participants with training and exposure to various trades and offer opportunities for entry into RA training programs. Targeted industries include, but are not limited to, Building and Construction, Manufacturing, and Information Technology (IT).Although grantmaking activities will transition from the Grants Gateway to the Statewide Financial System (SFS) on January 16, 2024, applications for this funding opportunity will continue to be accepted through Grants Gateway until the submission deadline date of March 29, 2024.Note: With the transition of grantmaking activities from the Grants Gateway to SFS, prequalification will be unavailable from December 15, 2023 through January 16, 2024. Award Details: The Rolling Grant program provides grants for any purpose, including a wide range of field of interest and special purpose funds, and support for individuals served by nonprofits or government agencies. The minimum grant request is $500, and the maximum request varies by fund. Grants must provide direct benefits to Frederick County, Maryland residents unless otherwise noted in the fund description. Eligibility: Eligible organizations include already existing nonprofit 501c3 organizations in good standing with the IRS, government/quasi-governmental agencies applying for extraordinary projects not funded by tax revenue, religious organizations requesting funding for non-sectarian activities, and civic groups that are not 501c3 organizations requesting funding for a community cause. All applicants must meet Maryland's nonprofit requirements. Application Process: Organizations can submit grant applications through Foundant, the online grants management system used by The Community Foundation. Multiple applications are permitted, with one application per fund to which the organization is applying. Additional Information: Applications can be modified until the application deadline. Grant funds are generally disbursed in full during the first month of the grant period, except for civic organizations that receive reimbursement based on proof of expense and addressing the approved community cause. Variance requests to modify budget or program services can be made before the end of the grant period but require approval from the Community Foundation's Board of Trustees.
