The FY23-24 Drone Replacement Program is funded by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) to assist agencies in replacing non-compliant drones with those from approved manufacturers. The program was established following the 2022 amendment of Section 934.50, Florida Statutes, mandating agencies using non-compliant drones to replace them by specific deadlines. Eligible agencies will receive funds based on the initial purchase price and total flight hours of the non-compliant drones, following a detailed depreciation schedule. Recipients are required to relinquish the non-compliant drones in working condition to FDLE, which will then be analyzed by the Florida Center for Cybersecurity at the University of South Florida. Criminal Justice Information Data Security: Acceptance of this award, constitutes understanding that transmission of Criminal Justice Information (CJI) between locations must be encrypted to conform to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy.

The Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 Port Security Grant Program (PSGP) is one of four grant programs that constitute DHS/FEMAs focus on transportation infrastructure security activities. These grant programs are part of a comprehensive set of measures authorized by Congress and implemented by the Administration to help strengthen the nations critical infrastructure against risks associated with potential terrorist attacks. The PSGP provides funds to state, local, and private sector maritime partners to support increased port-wide risk management and protect critical surface transportation infrastructure from acts of terrorism, major disasters, and other emergencies. The PSGP supports critical national seaports/terminals to enhance port security through enhanced facility and operational security. PSGP allows for a broad range of projects to be funded as long as they are applicable to enhancing maritime security capabilities. The entire breadth of the POETE (planning, operational, equipment, training, and exercise) is allowable under PSGP. This program provides financial assistance to rural and volunteer fire departments in Indiana to help them improve fire prevention and suppression efforts through training and equipment.

The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) is offering a grant opportunity to provide intranasal naloxone kits to first responders in rural counties of Indiana. The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) Bureau of  Nutrition and Physical Activity (BNPA) administers funds provided by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the operation of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program (BFPC) for the State of Arizona. The USDA nutrition programs are discretionary, and each provides a specific service to women, infants, and children who are low-income and at nutritional risk. The overall goal of all the USDA Nutrition Programs is to increase food security and reduce hunger by providing eligible participants access to nourishing food and supportive nutrition education. Description: The Idaho Fire Chief’s Association (IFCA) is proud to announce the 2024 Fire Fighter License Plate (FFLP) grant program, now in its 24th year. This initiative, funded through the Idaho Fire Fighter’s License Plate (FFLP) Fund, aims to enhance fire safety education across Idaho by providing grants to eligible organizations. Since its inception, over $850,000 has been awarded to support fire safety education programs. For 2024, approximately $75,000 is available for distribution, with awards covering up to 75% of the grant fund balance as of July 1, 2024. Applications must align with legislative guidelines, focusing exclusively on fire safety education for firefighters, fire chiefs, and the general public. Applications are due by June 28, 2024, with awards announced in August.

The INFRA program, part of the MPDG, allocates $2.7 billion towards competitive grants for significant multimodal freight and highway projects that aim to improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of freight and people movement across rural and urban areas. It focuses on projects that enhance economic benefits, reduce congestion, increase resiliency, and improve critical freight movements. The Rural program is dedicated to enhancing surface transportation infrastructure within rural communities, with $780 million allocated for this purpose. It supports highway, bridge, and tunnel projects that improve freight, safety, and access to agricultural, commercial, energy, or transportation facilities critical to a rural area's economy. This program recognizes the unique challenges faced by smaller communities in accessing funding and aims to support projects that address these needs directly. The submission deadline is May 6, 2024.

This program provides funding to municipal fire departments and fire districts in Arizona for essential hardware and software to improve fire incident management.

The Volunteer Fire Capacity (VFC) Program is a federally funded grant program that allows California to provide local and rural fire departments with minor firefighting, training, communications and safety equipment for their volunteer firefighters. The VFC Program is not intended for major equipment (fire engines, vehicles, etc.) or Capital repairs. The VFC Program has a 50/50 match requirement which means that the applying department must be able to meet the intended grant award, dollar for dollar. Awards for departments are set at a minimum of $500 with a maximum of $20,000. Amounts may be adjusted based on the grant funding available. The Volunteer Firefighter Pension Fund Program supports local governments in offering retirement benefits to attract volunteer firefighters. Eligible entities include municipalities with populations under 100,000, fire protection districts, county improvement districts with volunteer fire department members, and counties contributing to a volunteer pension fund. These entities must have active, pension-eligible volunteer firefighters and have contributed tax revenue to the pension fund in the previous year. The program provides a state match for contributions from eligible entities, which is determined based on a statutory calculation. Applications are accepted annually from September 1 to October 31. The program also includes Accidental Death and Disability Insurance for all volunteer firefighters in Colorado, covering on-duty activities and travel to and from events. Grant renewed every year.
