The Secretary of Veterans Affairs will make grants available to eligible organizations for the provision of transition assistance. Members of the U.S. Armed Forces who are separated, retired, or discharged, as well as their spouses, will benefit from receiving the services provided. Each year approximately 200,000 Service members are separated from the military. Veterans and dependents report significant challenges when transitioning from military to civilian life.
