This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) supports applications to develop and implement investigator-initiated single site clinical trials including efficacy, comparative effectiveness, pragmatic and/or implementation research clinical trials. These trials may include ones that test different therapeutic, behavioral, and/or prevention strategies. Trials for which this FOA applies must be relevant to the research mission of the NHLBI and meet the NIH definition of a clinical trial (see NOT-OD-15-015). For additional information about the mission, strategic vision, and research priorities of the NHLBI, applicants are encouraged to consult the NHLBI website.This FOA will utilize a bi-phasic, milestone-driven mechanism of award. The objective of the application is to present the scientific rationale for the clinical trial and a comprehensive scientific and operational plan that describes it. USAID/Rwanda Strengthening Equitable Education for the Deaf (SEED) The overall objective of the Strengthening Equitable Education for the Deaf (SEED) Activity is to improve reading outcomes for pre-primary and lower primary school learners who are deaf or hard of hearing (D/HH) by the end of Primary 3 (P3 or Grade 3) in Rwanda. DE-FOA-0003298: CLEAN ENERGY TECHNOLOGY DEPLOYMENT ON TRIBAL LANDS - 2024 Under this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), the DOE Office of Indian Energy is soliciting applications from Indian Tribes, which include Alaska Native Regional Corporations and Village Corporations, Intertribal Organizations, and Tribal Energy Development Organizations to: (1) Install clean energy generating system(s) and/or energy efficiency measure(s) for Tribal building(s) (Topic Area 1); or, (2) Deploy community-scale clean energy generating system(s) or community energy storage on Tribal lands (Topic Area 2); or, (3) Install integrated energy system(s) for autonomous operation (independent of the traditional centralized electric power grid) to power a single or multiple essential Tribal buildings during emergency situations or for tribal community resilience (Topic Area 3); or, (4) Provide electric power to Tribal Building(s), which otherwise would be unelectrified (Topic Area 4). The purpose of the Black Lung Data and Resource Center (BLDRC) program is to improve health care in rural areas by supporting patient-level data collection and analysis, clinic operations, and the quality and breadth of services provided by recipients of Black Lung Clinics Program (BLCP) funding. For the purposes of this Notice of Funding Opportunity, BLCP award recipients are referred to as BLCP recipients. Additional details about the program requirements and expectations for BLCP recipients can be found in HRSA-25-040. Our goal is to strengthen BLCP recipients ability to examine and treat respiratory diseases and pulmonary impairments in active and inactive U.S. coal miners. To that end, the BLDRC provides programmatic assistance and resources to help BLCP recipients use data analysis to better understand the health status and needs of U.S. coal miners. BLDRC support and data analysis contributes to advancing evidence-based models of health care for rural health care providers, including BLCP recipients and other health care providers serving rural populations. The BLDRC will work with BLCP recipients and stakeholders to address long-standing challenges and barriers to medical, outreach, educational, and benefits counseling services for U.S. coal miners. The BLDRC will also help collect and analyze information on the demographics and clinical status of coal miners with Coal Mine Dust Lung Diseases (CMDLD), or black lung diseases, especially Coal Workers Pneumoconiosis (CWP) and its most severe form, Progressive Massive Fibrosis (PMF). The BLDRC supports BLCP recipients, including rural health providers, in discerning effective methods to address challenges, analyzing best practices, and informing lessons learned that translate across rural and non-rural health care settings. These methods also expand and further enhance support for health care delivery in rural areas.

White-nose syndrome (WNS) is a disease of hibernating bats caused by the invasive fungus Pseudogymnoascus destructans (Pd). WNS is confirmed in 12 bat species in North America, including three that are federally listed as threatened or endangered and one that is proposed to be listed. WNS has led to severe declines in multiple hibernating species of bats, although impacts vary among affected species and locations. Severity of the disease is unclear for multiple recently or not yet exposed species.The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is offering financial assistance to wildlife and natural resource management agencies and departments of states, the District of Columbia, and federally-recognized Native American Tribes for efforts related to the management of WNS. Since 2008, funding through the WNS Grants to States has led to critical information and resources for maximizing the benefits of bat conservation efforts. In 2019, this funding opportunity was extended to Tribes engaged in or seeking to engage in bat management and conservation efforts. The goal of this funding opportunity is to help our State and Tribal partners fulfill information needs, implement management actions for WNS and susceptible bat species, and actively engage in the National Response to WNS. Supported activities will include monitoring bat populations, implementing conservation actions for bats, supporting scientific information gathering, training personnel, managing WNS and the causative fungus, and maintaining expertise in bat conservation and management.
