The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Office of Security and Transnational Affairs (SCA/STA) announces an open competition for an organization (see eligibility information on page 1) interested in submitting an application to implement a project to build the capacity of the four small island developing states (SIDS) in the Indian Ocean to address the impacts of climate change. In particular, the funding will be used to increase resilience to climate-driven disasters among the SIDS.

ONDCPs Judiciary Education on Substance Use and Substance Use Disorder Grant supports training and education that helps educate the entire justice system about the science of addiction, substance use, and substance use disorder, and how substance use and substance use disorder is impacted by the justice system. The Presidents priority is to enhance public safety by providing those who have engaged in criminal activity with greater opportunities to lead productive lives by addressing a range of issues, including mental health, vocational training, job creation, after-school programming, substance use, and mentoring through evidence-based rehabilitation programs. ONDCP seeks to reduce drug use and its consequences through evidence-based practices, and this grant will apply these principles to the justice system.

The "Facilitation Skills for Cognitive Behavioral Programs in Corrections" grant aims to fund training for facilitators in cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, with the goal of improving social skills, problem-solving, and self-control among justice-involved adults and at-risk youth, ultimately reducing recidivism and addressing problematic behaviors.

The "Leadership Development for Deputy Wardens and Second in Command" grant aims to provide comprehensive training and resources for deputy wardens in correctional facilities, enhancing their leadership skills, decision-making abilities, and understanding of compliance and accountability, through a modern, interactive e-course and VILT (Virtual Instructor-Led Training).

The "Trauma-Responsive Training and Resources for Community Supervision Agencies" grant aims to provide agencies nationwide with specific training in trauma-responsive practices, promoting environments of healing and recovery for trauma victims, and avoiding re-traumatization through professional services.

The "Criminal Justice Coordinating Council Chair and Director Training Curriculum Development and Pilot" grant aims to create a comprehensive 30-hour training program for council chairs and executive directors, using a blend of virtual and in-person instruction, based on the ITIP model and ADDIE principles.

The "Enhancing Criminal Justice Coordinating Councils Through Specialized Technical Assistance and Coaching" grant aims to support local criminal justice councils in implementing best practices for managing jail populations and reentry programs, using data-driven insights to improve operational efficiency and outcomes in the justice system.

The purpose of the SOI process is to allow applicants to submit program ideas for evaluation prior to requiring the development of a full proposal application. Upon a merit review of eligible SOIs, selected applicants will be invited to expand on their program idea(s) by submitting a full proposal application. EB administers a portion of the ITSI Fund, the ITSI Promote line of effort, to help expand international semiconductor assembly, testing, and packaging (ATP or downstream) capacity in key partner countries that will in turn diversify the global semiconductor supply chain. The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad invites eligible organizations to submit proposals to implement a project to support and develop committed young environment champions through Ecology Action groups focused on activities in high schools in Baghdad. The program implementer will create Eco Action Clubs or related organized extra curriculum groups at their schools. The implementer will also design the curriculum and the program. The Eco Action Clubs will be supporting student and faculty input in development of ecological activities. The opportunity will support targeted activities of the Eco Action Clubs to amplify efforts to combat climate change. The programs will serve to promote environmental diplomacy by building champions in climate advocacy for youth as well as youth leadership skills to carry out their initiatives. The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad seeks proposals for a project called Iraqi High School Eco Action Clubs. The proposed project will consist of establishing and managing Eco Action Clubs in conjunction with six high schools in Baghdad and its surrounding areas. The implementer will identify and develop 60-100 young environmental champions from these school clubs. The implementer will be responsible to the schools outreach and facilitate the Iraqi Ministry of Education required approvals. This program will prepare high school students to advocate for environmental reform and raise awareness to protect the environment in Baghdad, the most populated city in Iraq. The program implementer will work with the participating schools to create Eco Action Clubs through volunteerism amongst high school students. The grantee will select 60-100 students targeted school-aged youth with teachers, highlighting and advocating conservation and management of the environment and climate. Specifically, the grantee will work with the participating schools, and the U.S. Embassy will approve venues.

The U.S. Embassy, Baghdad / Bureau of NEA of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a program to integrate solar energy to develop modern irrigation techniques. This project will aim to revolutionize irrigation in Iraq by introducing solar-powered drip irrigation systems. The project will consist of in-person or virtual training sessions and workshops for undergraduates and graduates specializing in agriculture and water resources management, entrepreneurs, and technical staff from the ministries of agriculture and water resources. The goal is to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to transition from traditional irrigation methods to more efficient, water-saving, and eco-friendly drip irrigation systems powered by solar energy.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Foreign Agricultural Service, International Climate Hub, announces this funding opportunity to support the Technical Agricultural Assistance Program by issuing a new award to to design, plan, and implement the FAS Agricultural Export Market Challenge (Challenge) for the 2024-2025 academic year.Launched as a pilot program in 2021, the Challenge is an immersive learning experience targeted to upper-level undergraduates attending a minority-serving educational institution. The Challenge is designed to increase student awareness around the work of FAS, pique student interest in a career in international trade and within the agency, and provide a rich learning experience, while fostering FAS relationships with participating institutions. In the Challenge, students simulate the work that FAS performs every day in global food and agricultural trade.
