Federal Law Justice and Legal Services Grants

OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and racial equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety and protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. The purpose of this solicitation is to invite organizations and entities to apply for continuation funding in support of specific BJA initiatives. This solicitation is exclusively for those who received a letter from BJA to apply. All guidelines and funding rules are the same as the original funded project. Statutory Authority: Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2019, Public Law No. 116-6, 133 Stat. 13, 112, and the Project Safe Neighborhoods Grant Program Authorization Act of 2018, Public Law No. 115-185, 132 Stat. 1485.

This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations, for-profit companies, and educational institutions to help law enforcement agencies improve their internal practices and community engagement through organizational assessments and targeted reforms.

The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a project to improve and strengthen the institutional capacities of the Colombian National Police CNP and the Directorate of Veterans and Inclusive Rehabilitation DIVRI to provide CNP officers and Colombian Military permanently wounded in the course of eradication, drug interdiction, rural security, antiterrorism, and anti-drug trafficking operations; access to vocational assistance. The project should include the design of strategies to access educational scholarships, vocational training, entrepreneurship and/or employment opportunities. The CNP and DIVRI will benefit from the project as the designed strategies will assist in improving their access to career development and employment opportunities.

This grant provides funding to state governments and their partners to develop innovative strategies that improve outcomes for youth in the juvenile justice system while reinvesting savings into effective prevention and intervention programs.

With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to provide funding to the Office of Attorney General of the District of Columbia (OAGDC) to improve public safety through two evidence-based initiatives designed to reduce juvenile delinquency.

The "Trauma-Responsive Training and Resources for Community Supervision Agencies" grant aims to provide agencies nationwide with specific training in trauma-responsive practices, promoting environments of healing and recovery for trauma victims, and avoiding re-traumatization through professional services.

With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to provide funding to support training and technical assistance (TTA) services to develop, improve, or expand childrens advocacy centers (CACs) and multidisciplinary team responses to child abuse cases in American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities.

The Bureau of Counterterrorism (CT) of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to build the capacity of Somali Police Force (SPF) CT units, including the Joint Investigative Team (JIT) and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to more fully coordinate on counterterrorism-related police investigations with the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) for the purpose of increased information collection, analysis, and sharing between the units and international partners.

he Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to provide programmatic, logistical, travel, and administrative support to the capacity-building programs for the Office of Knowledge Management (KM). Capacity-building programs provide training and other relevant activities to appropriate participants which furthers INL’s overall goals and objectives with host country partners, civil society, and professional associations. INL is especially interested in proposals that provide a plan for addressing the participation of persons with disabilities, including specific means, measures, and corresponding targets. INL is dedicated to strengthening the rule of law and supporting civil society in building strong and resilient communities. This project will involve significant interaction with U.S.-based and foreign criminal justice sector institutions and applicants are strongly encouraged to have robust expertise in this topic and experience working with and relationship networks with such institutions. Applicants who do not have this expertise and these relationships in house are strongly encouraged to partner with one or more entities that do. While this pertains to all activities described in the ‘Project activities and deliverables’ section below, this is especially important for effective implementation of Activity 10 and Activity 11.

This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations, tribal governments, and legal service providers to enhance legal assistance for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking.

This grant provides emergency financial support to Louisiana law enforcement agencies for reimbursing extraordinary expenses incurred during the terrorist attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.

With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to fund a training and technical assistance (TTA) provider to build capability and capacity of diversion programs serving justice-involved youth populations with substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder needs. The successful applicant will lead a national TTA program and administer a subaward program providing subawards to local demonstration sites to improve responses and outcomes for youth with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders who come into contact with the juvenile justice system, or who are at high risk of contact, by diverting these youth toward community-based treatment to address their unique mental and behavioral health needs to prevent them from entering the formal justice system.

This funding opportunity provides financial support to the U.S. Center for SafeSport to enhance safety measures and prevent abuse in U.S. Olympic and Paralympic sports for young athletes.

This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations with experience in child advocacy to enhance training and resources for regional children's advocacy centers, improving services for victims of child abuse and neglect.

With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to assist states in planning, establishing, operating, coordinating, and evaluating projects directly or through grants and contracts with public and private agencies for the development of more effective education, training, research, prevention, diversion, treatment, and rehabilitation programs to improve their juvenile justice system.

The FY25 COPS Office Invitational Program is a funding opportunity by the U.S. Department of Justice that provides up to $2,000,000 to selected law enforcement agencies and related organizations to develop innovative strategies for enhancing community policing and promoting safer communities.

Open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a project to create a trusted judicial advocacy network, modeled after the American Inns of Court, that furthers professionalism, integrity, and mutual respect among peers in North Macedonias legal community.
