Funding Information Applicants can apply for the following levels of funding: $2,000 award (typically 1-2 performers), plus $680 in-kind production support from Seattle Center. $4,000 award (typically 3-5 performers), plus $1,235 in-kind production support from Seattle Center. $6,000 award (typically 6+ performers), plus $1,700 in-kind production support from Seattle Center. Uses of funds  You may use the award funds for artist fees, marketing and promotional fees, project management and personnel costs, supplies, equipment rentals or other production-related costs, required insurance, and no more than 10% for food-related costs. Additional expenses may be allowed upon advance approval by the grant project manager. Funds from Artists at the Center cannot be combined with other City funding sources nor with funds supporting another Seattle Center event (e.g. Festál, Folklife, etc.). Eligibility Criteria  You are eligible to apply for this grant if you meet the following criteria: You are an individual artist, organization, or community-based group located in, or presenting work regularly in, Seattle. You have a Federal Tax ID number (Social Security Number, ITIN, or Employee Identification Number) and are based in, or have current and active programming within, the City of Seattle. Groups applying are not required to be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, nor are they required to use a fiscal sponsor or fiscal agent. You may submit only one application per year to this program. The second priority of the Grassroots Arts subgrant program is to support arts learning and arts in education programs conducted by qualified artists. These can be artist residencies in schools, after school or summer camps or adult arts learning classes. The third priority of Grassroots Arts subgrants is to community, civic and municipal organizations. These programs must be conducted by qualified artists. Eligibility Criteria All organizations must have been in operation for at least one year. While nonprofit 501(c)(3) status is preferred, organizations that are nonprofit in nature may also apply. Additional priority will be given to State-designated Urban Aid Communities and Overburdened Communities. Program limits on the number of applications and the dollars awarded have been established to enable program funding to support a larger number of municipalities. The requirement of a local contribution and local funding of program ineligible expenses provides a tangible demonstration of local commitment to what is intended to be a cooperative project. Eligible Projects  Eligible Park Improvement, Development and Redevelopment Projects All projects must be for park, recreation, open space, and historic preservation purposes. A deed of open space easement or other covenant restricting the use of the project site to these purposes will be required as a condition of award. Building new facilities and improving existing facilities through demolition, renovation, and/or stabilization will be considered as eligible. Dredging of bodies of water that help to improve and expand access to recreational areas is allowable. All project sites must be owned by the applicant municipality, or the municipality must hold a long-term lease for a term of at least 25 years beyond the grant award, or other instruments extending for substantially 25 years beyond the grant award where a thirdparty governmental entity is also a party. In all cases the site must be under the control of the applicant municipality. When project sites are not owned in fee simple by the Municipality, additional agreements or covenants may be required. Fees for use of funded facilities are permissible. Projects for the preservation of historic resources must be located within a park and must comply with the U.S. Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. Eligibility Criteria  Monmouth County municipalities are the only eligible applicants. Municipalities are encouraged, however, to form partnerships with other public or non-profit organizations to strengthen and enhance project proposals. Eligibility Criteria If applying for general operating (unrestricted) funding, your organization must utilize a gender lens throughout its work; all of the organization’s work must focus on advancing gender equity. Funding can NOT be for capital campaigns, partisan political activities, or individuals. The organization’s annual budget must be no less than $250,000 and no greater than $5 million. Organizations with smaller budgets will be eligible to apply for the Hadassah Foundation’s Spark grant in the coming months. Partner with resident community leaders to share information about resources in key languages and provide compensation for their work.
