The Eligible Applicants for 2018 MIT-RIP funds are Jurisdictions within the MID. This includes eligible Jurisdictions that have seen 1 percent or more of total structures destroyed by fire and have more that 0.4 percent of total land designated as moderate, high, or very high fire hazard risk that will receive a proportional allocation of program funds. Eligible Applicants with allocations include Butte County, Lake County, Los Angeles County, Malibu, Paradise, Redding, and Shasta County.

Spay/Neuter Grant for Tennessee Organizations Eligibility: Government shelters or 501(c)(3) organizations in Tennessee. Provides spay and neuter services for dogs and cats. Grant Coverage: Covers spay and neuter procedures only. Does not cover expenses like fences or food. Procedure Requirements: Procedures must be performed by a Tennessee clinic with a licensed Tennessee veterinarian. Funding Source: Funding is from sales of the Spay/Neuter license plate. Set up an account as an Edison Supplier: Edison Supplier Portal Fill out the application when available in the spring and submit supporting documentation. Awards are determined based on various factors such as procedure price, number of animals served, counties served, etc. Once awarded, sign and return the contract. It goes through Department of Agriculture approval. Contracts are entered into Edison, and invoices are created and emailed to the organization. During the fiscal year, organizations perform procedures, fill out invoices with procedure information, and send them to the Animal Friendly email for reimbursement. Additionally, the program supports the creation of food donation and distribution programs, community repair training, deconstruction initiatives, and the promotion of tool-lending libraries and community repair events. The purpose of Independent Remedial Action Grants (IRAGs) is to encourage and expedite cleanups and decrease the associated costs of cleanup for ratepayers and taxpayers. IRAGs are grants offered to local governments that independently clean up contamination under the Washington State Department of Ecology’s (Ecology) Voluntary Cleanup Program. These grants encourage and expedite cleanups, and decrease the associated costs of cleanup for ratepayers and taxpayers. Local governments are welcome to apply for this funding if they have 1) completed an independent cleanup through the Voluntary Cleanup Program, and 2) have received a determination of No Further Action from Ecology. IRAGs are just one of several “remedial action” grants and loans provided to local governments by Ecology. The grants and loans are used to investigate and clean up contaminated sites under Washington state’s environmental cleanup law, the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA).
