Coastal Resilience Grant (CRG) Program Guidelines A. Purpose The CRG funding opportunity supports projects that: Build capacity, Advance planning, and Develop designs to increase coastal resilience, including community and/or habitat resilience, in one or more of New Hampshire’s Coastal Zone communities. Coastal Zone communities include: Dover, Durham, Exeter, Greenland, Hampton, Hampton Falls, Madbury, New Castle, Newfields, Newington, Newmarket, North Hampton, Portsmouth, Rollinsford, Rye, Seabrook, and Stratham. B. Eligible Applicants and Project Categories Eligible Applicants: Coastal municipalities, Quasi-governmental organizations, Non-governmental organizations, Academic institutions, and State agencies. Preference given to lead applicant organizations with no prior CRG awards. Preferred Project Approaches: Minimize negative impacts to environmental resources. Focus on coalition-building, cultural heritage preservation, environmental justice, inclusive access, and protecting/restoring natural coastal resources. Collaboratively-develop goals, purpose, work plan, products, and outcomes. Achieve fair distribution of benefits and burdens, prioritizing those with the highest need. Eligible Project Categories: Building Capacity Projects: Increase community resilience through network building, knowledge enhancement, and resource access. Planning Projects: Develop strategic plans, assessments, or regulations to guide resilience efforts. Design Projects: Develop designs for site-specific resources/assets to increase resilience. C. Funding, Match Commitment, and Project Timeframe Funding: Total anticipated federal grant funding: ~$100,000. Request between $9,000 and $30,000 in federal grant funds per project. Federal funds cannot cover final engineering designs, permitting, construction costs, or equipment purchases exceeding $5,000. Match Commitment: Non-federal match commitment: 4:1 federal grant funds to non-federal match (cash or in-kind services). Justification for reduced or no match commitment may be provided. Project Timeframe: Duration: 12 to 18 months. Expected project start: November 2024 to January 2025. Expected project end: December 2025 to June 2026. Arts Respond - Cultural District Project Eligibility: TCA Cultural Districts; VERIFIED College Arts Institution, Established Arts Organizations, Established Arts Organizations of Color, Government Local Arts Agencies, Local Arts Agencies, Rural Arts Providers located within a TCA Designated Cultural District Intent: Projects that use the arts to diversify local economies, generate revenue, and attract visitors and investment. This competitive grant program provides project assistance grants on a short-term basis and may include administrative costs directly related to the project. This program is designed for projects that focus on significant cultural tourism projects. These projects should serve at least one of the following: High quality arts programming that will attract a significant number of visitors from 50 miles or more outside the community (i.e., blockbuster art exhibitions, national or regional premieres, major festivals) Enhancements to the cultural district to make it more accessible, attractive, cohesive-looking, and safe for visitors Improved signage and wayfinding for the district Promotion of the district; this may include the district’s website, branding, and marketing Organizational support for the management and operations of the district (TCA Cultural District only) These grants may include capital improvements. The New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) is making up to $2 million in State Apprenticeship Expansion Formula (SAEF) funding available under the Direct Entry Pre-Apprenticeship Programs (DEPA) Request for Applications (RFA). The purpose of the RFA is to: 1. Provide funding for DEPA programs to support approximately 300 participants; and2. Support entry into NYS Registered Apprenticeship (RA) programs for underrepresented populations including women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans.NYSDOL is particularly interested in supporting DEPA programs that provide participants with training and exposure to various trades and offer opportunities for entry into RA training programs. Targeted industries include, but are not limited to, Building and Construction, Manufacturing, and Information Technology (IT).Although grantmaking activities will transition from the Grants Gateway to the Statewide Financial System (SFS) on January 16, 2024, applications for this funding opportunity will continue to be accepted through Grants Gateway until the submission deadline date of March 29, 2024.Note: With the transition of grantmaking activities from the Grants Gateway to SFS, prequalification will be unavailable from December 15, 2023 through January 16, 2024. PLEASE READ: Private landowners are only eligible to receive financial assistance if they work through an eligible applicant: Eligible applicants include Governmental organizations (including state, county, and local), 501(c) non-profit organizations, and Indian Tribes. The State of Arizona through the Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) invites proposals from Arizona public and private landowners for emergency repairs for infrastructure damaged by fires or fire suppression activities occurring July 1, 2020 and after. The Post-Wildfire Infrastructure Assistance Program goal is to assist in infrastructure repairs to physical systems, operational structures and facilities needed for the use of urban, rural, agricultural, cultural and natural resources.  Financial Notes: The Arizona Post-Wildfire Infrastructure Assistance Program has allocated $10,000,000 to support infrastructure recovery efforts to mitigate the impact of Arizona wildfires.  Awards will be limited to those applicants most significantly impacted, on a first-come-first-served basis, and DFFM shall prioritize distributions of financial assistance to private landowners. Applicants will be those whose needs were not met by other funding sources (insurance, federal agencies, etc.) and only after all other sources of payment, including any insurance and other reimbursements, have been deducted or the landowner provides information to DFFM that the landowner does not qualify for other reimbursement.  Awards will be limited to a minimum of $5,000 and a maximum of $500,000 per award. Some projects may be offered only partial funding depending on the severity of demonstrated need and funding availability at the time of the request. 

This program provides funding to municipal fire departments and fire districts in Arizona for essential hardware and software to improve fire incident management.

The Volunteer Fire Capacity (VFC) Program is a federally funded grant program that allows California to provide local and rural fire departments with minor firefighting, training, communications and safety equipment for their volunteer firefighters. The VFC Program is not intended for major equipment (fire engines, vehicles, etc.) or Capital repairs. The VFC Program has a 50/50 match requirement which means that the applying department must be able to meet the intended grant award, dollar for dollar. Awards for departments are set at a minimum of $500 with a maximum of $20,000. Amounts may be adjusted based on the grant funding available. Working with Railroads comprise funding and project efforts that engage the Commision and staff in the business and support of an effective rail service as the key connection for Ohio companies to their suppliers and markets worldwide, Rail is often a requirement for business attraction and retention efforts. The Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) promotes economic opportunities while supporting safety and quality of life concerns across Ohio's extensive rail infrastructure. At 5,187 miles, Ohio's network of active rail lines is the fourth most extensive in the nation. The high mileage of rail lines in Ohio reflects the close integration of rail with Ohio's economy. Ohio's businesses are committed to using Ohio's rail network. Ohio's largest railroads, CSX and Norfolk Southern, publish Public Projects Manuals to assist public entities in interacting with their organizations. Regional and short-line railroads often publish information on their websites to identify appropriate processes and contacts. If needed, ORDC is happy to assist Ohio communities with identifying the correct railroad contacts. The ORDC assists with railroad-roadway coordination by providing technical assistance to ODOT District project managers and area engineers, local municipalities, contractors, and others regarding railroad issues and requirements for public projects.

The Volunteer Firefighter Pension Fund Program supports local governments in offering retirement benefits to attract volunteer firefighters. Eligible entities include municipalities with populations under 100,000, fire protection districts, county improvement districts with volunteer fire department members, and counties contributing to a volunteer pension fund. These entities must have active, pension-eligible volunteer firefighters and have contributed tax revenue to the pension fund in the previous year. The program provides a state match for contributions from eligible entities, which is determined based on a statutory calculation. Applications are accepted annually from September 1 to October 31. The program also includes Accidental Death and Disability Insurance for all volunteer firefighters in Colorado, covering on-duty activities and travel to and from events. Grant renewed every year. The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Illinois EPA) offers the Section 319(h) Grant Program to address nonpoint source (NPS) pollution affecting Illinois’ water resources. This program, funded through the Clean Water Act, supports projects that prevent, eliminate, or reduce water quality impairments caused by NPS pollution. Prioritized projects include those implementing approved watershed-based plans or Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Implementation Plans, with activities ranging from BMP implementation to monitoring and outreach efforts. The program encourages applications that demonstrate a comprehensive approach to NPS pollution control and offer sustainable environmental benefits. Grant renewed every year.

The Idaho Water Resource Board (IWRB) offers grants for flood management, including stream channel repair, improvement, flood risk reduction, and flood prevention. These grants are competitive and statewide, available to flood control districts, drainage districts, irrigation districts, canal companies, municipalities, counties, and other public entities. Applicants must show evidence of flood damage or risk and outline proposed repairs or improvements. This program provides financial assistance to municipalities and private entities in Pennsylvania for improving water quality and infrastructure related to drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater management.

This program provides financial assistance to Pennsylvania municipalities and agencies for the construction and improvement of flood control systems to protect communities from flooding.

This funding opportunity provides financial support to state agencies, nonprofit organizations, local governments, and tribal governments to improve law enforcement strategies and victim services aimed at reducing violence against women.

This program provides financial assistance to local governments in Colorado to address the community impacts of limited stakes gaming by funding public facilities and services.

The Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), formerly part of the FAST Act, provides funding for diverse transportation projects such as pedestrian and bicycle facilities, recreational trails, safe routes to school, community improvements, and environmental mitigation. The program is competitive, with an 80% federal funding share and a 20% local match requirement. Eligible projects include infrastructure-related activities promoting non-motorized transportation and community improvements. The application deadline for the 2024 cycle is May 31, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. Grant renewed every year.

The Emergency Solutions Grant Program (ESG), initially established as the Emergency Shelter Grant Program in 1987 under the Stewart B. McKinney Homeless Assistance Act, underwent significant revisions with the Homeless Emergency Assistance and Rapid Transition to Housing (HEARTH) Act of 2009. The program, aimed at addressing homelessness, is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and administered by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs. ESG supports the upgrade of homeless and domestic abuse shelters, covers operating costs, provides essential services to homeless individuals, aids in homelessness prevention, facilitates rapid re-housing, and supports the Homeless Management Information System's administrative costs. The Recreational Trails Program (RTP), managed by the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) and federally supported, funds the construction and maintenance of motorized and non-motorized recreational trails and related facilities in Arkansas. With an application deadline of May 31, 2024, the program operates on a reimbursement basis, covering 80% of project costs while requiring a 20% non-federal match. Funding priorities include new trail construction and significant maintenance of existing trails, with eligible expenses ranging from new construction to educational materials related to trail use.
