The California Department of Education (CDE), Early Education Division (EED) announces the availability of approximately $32.7 million to expand California State Preschool Program (CSPP) services statewide, as appropriated in the 2021 Budget Act. The CSPP funds are available for local educational agency (LEA) applicants to provide full-day/full year, part-day/part-year, or any combination thereof, of CSPP services.; The California Department of Education (CDE), Early Education Division (EED) announces the availability of approximately $32.7 million to expand California State Preschool Program (CSPP) services statewide to eligible children and families, as appropriated in the 2021 Budget Act. The CSPP funds are available for local educational agency (LEA) applicants to provide full-day/full year, part-day/part-year, or any combination thereof, of CSPP services. Funding will be allocated by county, and within each county by the Local Planning Council (LPC) priority area. Funding awards will be made based on the LPC priority in the order of highest passing score first. In the event that a county does not fully utilize its allocation, the funding will be redistributed to other applicants, based on the LPC priority followed by highest score. In the event of any tie in scoring, the applicant with headquarters in the service delivery area(s) specified in the Request for Application (RFA) will be given preference over applications with the same score that are not headquartered in the specified area(s), per California Code of Regulations, Title 5 (5 CCR) Section 17723. The CDE encourages all eligible applicants to apply. The CSPP funds will be used to provide services for eligible children beginning in fiscal year (FY) 2024–25.

The Library Construction Improvement Grant, offered by the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), supports public library jurisdictions in Minnesota undertaking renovation, construction, and improvement projects. This grant caters to projects aimed at renovating or expanding existing library buildings or constructing new library facilities. The focus is on enhancing library services to meet changing community needs, addressing hazardous conditions, and building new or improved facilities for public use. The New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) is making up to $2 million in State Apprenticeship Expansion Formula (SAEF) funding available under the Direct Entry Pre-Apprenticeship Programs (DEPA) Request for Applications (RFA). The purpose of the RFA is to: 1. Provide funding for DEPA programs to support approximately 300 participants; and2. Support entry into NYS Registered Apprenticeship (RA) programs for underrepresented populations including women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans.NYSDOL is particularly interested in supporting DEPA programs that provide participants with training and exposure to various trades and offer opportunities for entry into RA training programs. Targeted industries include, but are not limited to, Building and Construction, Manufacturing, and Information Technology (IT).Although grantmaking activities will transition from the Grants Gateway to the Statewide Financial System (SFS) on January 16, 2024, applications for this funding opportunity will continue to be accepted through Grants Gateway until the submission deadline date of March 29, 2024.Note: With the transition of grantmaking activities from the Grants Gateway to SFS, prequalification will be unavailable from December 15, 2023 through January 16, 2024. After January 16, 2024, organizations will prequalify in SFS. If an organization is prequalified at the time of the cutover, their prequalification status will move over to SFS. This funding program provides financial support to local governments and organizations in Fayette County to enhance community and economic development projects using revenue from licensed gaming facilities.

This program provides competitive funding for community organizations and local governments to build or improve public facilities that support work, education, and health monitoring in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

PLEASE READ: Private landowners are only eligible to receive financial assistance if they work through an eligible applicant: Eligible applicants include Governmental organizations (including state, county, and local), 501(c) non-profit organizations, and Indian Tribes. The State of Arizona through the Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) invites proposals from Arizona public and private landowners for emergency repairs for infrastructure damaged by fires or fire suppression activities occurring July 1, 2020 and after. The Post-Wildfire Infrastructure Assistance Program goal is to assist in infrastructure repairs to physical systems, operational structures and facilities needed for the use of urban, rural, agricultural, cultural and natural resources.  Financial Notes: The Arizona Post-Wildfire Infrastructure Assistance Program has allocated $10,000,000 to support infrastructure recovery efforts to mitigate the impact of Arizona wildfires.  Awards will be limited to those applicants most significantly impacted, on a first-come-first-served basis, and DFFM shall prioritize distributions of financial assistance to private landowners. Applicants will be those whose needs were not met by other funding sources (insurance, federal agencies, etc.) and only after all other sources of payment, including any insurance and other reimbursements, have been deducted or the landowner provides information to DFFM that the landowner does not qualify for other reimbursement.  Awards will be limited to a minimum of $5,000 and a maximum of $500,000 per award. Some projects may be offered only partial funding depending on the severity of demonstrated need and funding availability at the time of the request. 

This program provides funding to municipal fire departments and fire districts in Arizona for essential hardware and software to improve fire incident management.

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is seeking applications for its Victim Witness Grant Program (VWGP). This program provides financial support to local victim witness and statewide victim assistance programs. Its core mission is to offer direct services, information, and assistance as mandated by the Virginia Crime Victim and Witness Rights Act. The primary purpose of this funding, derived from the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Rule, is to support the delivery of essential services to crime victims. The program aims to address the emotional, psychological, or physical needs of crime victims, help them stabilize their lives after victimization, assist them in understanding and participating in the criminal justice system, and restore a measure of security and safety. The target beneficiaries of the VWGP are victims of crime across all counties in Virginia. The program's impact goals center on providing comprehensive direct services across various categories. These include information and referrals (e.g., about the criminal justice process, victims' rights, and other services), personal advocacy and accompaniment services (e.g., to medical care, forensic examinations, and criminal justice events), emotional support and safety services (e.g., crisis intervention, safety planning, counseling, and support groups), shelter and safe housing options (e.g., emergency shelter, transitional housing, and relocation assistance), and criminal and civil justice system assistance (e.g., notification of events and accompaniment to court hearings). The VWGP prioritizes projects that directly serve victims of crime and utilize the Victims Services Data Collection System (VSDCS) to document these services. Furthermore, eligible projects must promote community collaboration, assist victims in seeking crime victim compensation benefits through the Virginia Victims Fund (VVF), and actively involve volunteers in grant-funded activities. Recipients are also required to provide program information to other victim assistance agencies, maintain statutorily required civil rights statistics, offer services free of charge, maintain confidentiality, and serve victims of federal crimes on the same basis as state/local crimes. The expected outcomes and measurable results revolve around the effective delivery of the aforementioned direct services to victims. Through the VSDCS, the program will document the reach and types of services provided by grant-funded staff and volunteers. Success will be measured by the program's ability to respond to victims' needs, assist in their stabilization, facilitate their participation in the justice system, and enhance their safety and security. The grant period for these subawards is for state fiscal year 2025, from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, with applicants submitting one budget for the 12-month period. This framework ensures a focused and accountable approach to supporting crime victims throughout Virginia.

To equip California youth with knowledge and skills to live tobacco-, vape-, and nicotine-free by providing leadership and guidance for the development and implementation of school-based education, intervention, counseling, and youth development activities.;  The Tier 1, Cohort T Grant is available for a three-year period from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2027.  The grant award period is for three years; however, if funded, one Grant Award Notification (GAN) will be issued.  County offices of education (COEs), school districts, direct-funded charter schools, and consortia of qualifying local educational agencies (LEAs) serving grades six through twelve (6–12) in California are eligible to apply if they meet the eligibility requirements. To receive TUPE grant funding, all TUPE grantees are required to: (1) adopt tobacco-free campus policies that prohibit the use of products containing tobacco and nicotine, including, but not limited to, smokeless tobacco, snuff, chew, clove cigarettes, and electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes), and (2) conduct the district-level CHKS Core Module with the subgroup population of students in grades five or six, and seven, nine, and eleven.

This program provides funding to public school districts and area career and technical schools for necessary improvements to their facilities.

The Volunteer Fire Capacity (VFC) Program is a federally funded grant program that allows California to provide local and rural fire departments with minor firefighting, training, communications and safety equipment for their volunteer firefighters. The VFC Program is not intended for major equipment (fire engines, vehicles, etc.) or Capital repairs. The VFC Program has a 50/50 match requirement which means that the applying department must be able to meet the intended grant award, dollar for dollar. Awards for departments are set at a minimum of $500 with a maximum of $20,000. Amounts may be adjusted based on the grant funding available. Working with Railroads comprise funding and project efforts that engage the Commision and staff in the business and support of an effective rail service as the key connection for Ohio companies to their suppliers and markets worldwide, Rail is often a requirement for business attraction and retention efforts. The Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) promotes economic opportunities while supporting safety and quality of life concerns across Ohio's extensive rail infrastructure. At 5,187 miles, Ohio's network of active rail lines is the fourth most extensive in the nation. The high mileage of rail lines in Ohio reflects the close integration of rail with Ohio's economy. Ohio's businesses are committed to using Ohio's rail network. Ohio's largest railroads, CSX and Norfolk Southern, publish Public Projects Manuals to assist public entities in interacting with their organizations. Regional and short-line railroads often publish information on their websites to identify appropriate processes and contacts. If needed, ORDC is happy to assist Ohio communities with identifying the correct railroad contacts. The ORDC assists with railroad-roadway coordination by providing technical assistance to ODOT District project managers and area engineers, local municipalities, contractors, and others regarding railroad issues and requirements for public projects.

The SFCTP is intended to ensure adequate community support following the closure of commonwealth facilities in directly impacted and contiguous counties. This initiative aligns with a broader mission to safeguard healthcare services, particularly those related to abortion and reproductive health, which may be vulnerable to violence and vandalism. The program's core purpose is to mitigate security risks, ensuring uninterrupted and safe access to essential healthcare services for communities across California. The primary beneficiaries of this grant are currently licensed healthcare practitioners located in California who provide abortion-related services (or referrals) and reproductive health care services. This includes medical doctors, osteopathic doctors, licensed midwives, certified nurse-midwives, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, and physician assistants. A key impact goal is to create a more secure environment for these practitioners and their patients, thereby preserving access to critical reproductive health services. The program prioritizes security enhancements to protect against physical and digital threats. Eligible applicants must demonstrate that they provide abortion-related and reproductive health care services and are located in California. Health Care Practitioners who received an award from the FY 2022-23 DP Program are also eligible to reapply. The focus is on proactive measures to prevent violence and vandalism, fostering a safe operational space for healthcare providers. Expected outcomes include a measurable increase in the security infrastructure of participating healthcare facilities, both physically and digitally. The program anticipates that enhanced security will reduce incidents of violence and vandalism, leading to improved access to and continuity of abortion-related and reproductive health care services. With a total of $3 million available and individual grants up to $150,000, the program intends to achieve a widespread impact across California. The grant performance period runs from September 1, 2024, through December 31, 2026, allowing for significant improvements in the security landscape for these vital healthcare providers.
