California Workforce Development Grants

This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in Monterey County to improve their internal operations and effectiveness through various development activities.

This funding opportunity supports organizations in Northern and Central California that are addressing poverty and promoting racial justice and equitable outcomes for communities of color.

The Del Norte Physician’s Recruitment and Retention Fund was started by several community-minded businesses, organizations and individuals. It was established with the goal of promoting healthcare in Del Norte County by recruiting and ultimately retaining physicians for this area. Funds are available to organizations for recruitment costs, and to individuals for medical loan repayment, professional development or retention purposes. Recipients must commit to working in Del Norte County for the year the funding is received. This fund will award up to $50,000 per recipient per year, for a maximum of two years.

The Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) is issuing this Request for Proposals to provide critical economic and workforce development resources to support San Francisco’s residents, businesses, visitors, and workers. The funding in this RFP supports programs delivered through three OEWD divisions: Business Development Community Economic Development (formerly Invest In Neighborhoods) Workforce Development. Funding Areas  Community Economic Development Programs Castro cultural activation, uplifting Queer and Transgender Asian American and Pacific Islander communities: $30,000. Workforce Development Programs Industries of Opportunity- Worker Coorperative Program: $950,000 ($425k per program year). Industries of Opportunity- Youth and Young Adult Food Sovereignty: $400,000 ($200k per program year). Business Development Programs Union Square Park Programming: $1,000,000. Grant Period Unless otherwise noted, successful proposals are expected to be funded for up to six (6) years, concluding no later than June 2030. Eligibility Criteria You are eligible to apply if you: Are a nonprofit 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), or 501(c)(6) organization, registered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and in good standing with State of California’s Registry of Charitable Trusts and the California Secretary of State (SOS), the Franchise Tax Board, and eligible to do business with the City and County of San Francisco. The HOME-ARP Housing Plus Support Program provides funding for service providers to provide short term financial assistance and critical services to qualifying populations who are exiting homelessness as well as to prevent vulnerable qualifying populations from losing housing.; The HOME-ARP Program is a one time allocation awarded to states, units of local government, insular areas, and consortia of units of general local government that qualified for an allocation of HOME funds in Fiscal Year 2021. Funding is intented to address the need for homelessness assistance and supportive services specifically for qualifying populations defined as homeless, at risk of homelessness, fleeing, or attempting to flee domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking and other vulnerable populations at risk of housing instability. HOME-ARP funding for this NOFA will provide grants to nonprofit and Native American Entities. The Department will award HOME-ARP funds to provide critical services to those experiencing homelessness, exiting homelessness and to prevent vulnerable populations from losing housing.
