Red Coats’ Community Grants The Red Coats are a group of civic and corporate leaders who oversee THE PLAYERS volunteer efforts and a special grant program for local nonprofits. The Red Coats’ Community Grants program is designed to fund smaller projects for nonprofit organizations in Northeast Florida. The grant application will be open from Friday, May 10, 2024, to Friday, June 14, 2024. Grant awards will be up to $15,000 and will be paid in one lump sum. Nonprofits that applied for THE PLAYERS Annual Grant Program are also eligible to apply for this program. Eligibility Requirements: To be considered for funding, organizations must: Be nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Have broad community support and address specific community needs. Operate and serve citizens in the five-county area of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns counties. Provide services aligned with priority focus areas: youth services, education, character development, health, wellness and sports, military support. Practice and provide services without discrimination as protected by law. Restrictions: Funds will not be granted for the following: Individuals Private foundations Organizations that are themselves grant-making bodies Operational expenses (including salaries) Travel or conference expenses Sponsorships, events, or projects for which staff receive tangible benefits or privileges Political Action Committees, political causes, or candidates Debt reduction Gifts, honorarium, gratuities Required Documentation: Proof of the organization’s 501(c)(3) status Most recent financial statements (audited statements preferred) Most recent IRS form 990 Operating budget for the current fiscal year Supporting documents regarding how funds will be used

This summer, small farmers and ranchers have a grant opportunity through the Board of County Commissioners. The Board is funding a mini-grant to Alachua County-based farms and ranches that earn between $1,000 and $250,000 annually. Funding is for capital and equipment expenditures that will positively impact these operation’s income. The total grant request must not exceed $5,000. Only one application per farm or ranch is permitted. The total funding available for this mini-grant is approximately $100,000. To reduce inequity in marginalized communities, this grant will also prioritize small farms and ranches owned by black, women, indigenous, and persons-of-color. The Florida Department of State is seeking applications for its Specific Cultural Project (SCP) grant to fund a single cultural project, program, exhibition or series. Organizations and individuals are both eligible to apply. The Division offers four proposal types Arts In Education projects promote arts and culture in education; Discipline-Based cultural or artistic projects; Underserved Cultural Community Development projects assist with the development of underserved cultural organizations; Artist Projects provide public benefit through the creation or presentation of new artistic work. Funding Information Specific Cultural Projects have a maximum request of $25,000. Grant Period July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. Eligibility Criteria All applicants must meet the following basic eligibility requirements at the time of application. All current and previous grantees must be in good standing with the Division of Arts and Culture and the Department of State at the time of application. Applicant organization must be either a public entity or a Florida non-profit, taxexempt corporation as of the application deadline. All organizations must have at least one year of completed arts and cultural programming and be able to provide their last completed fiscal year’s operating budget. Applicant must have registered with the Division of Corporations and their status be “active,” as of the application deadline. Applicant must be registered as a vendor with the Department of Financial Services and provide a copy of their Florida Substitute W-9 form with the application. Applicant must provide their UEI number at the time of application. Applicant must provide a copy of their most recently completed Federal 990 form with the application. There are specific eligibility requirements for the Arts in Education, Underserved Cultural Community Development and Artist Project applications and for the following disciplines: Museum, Professional Theatre, Traditional Arts, Arts in Education, Local Arts Agency and State Service Organization application types. Specific Eligibility Requirements Applicants must also meet the following additional eligibility requirements based on their Proposal Type Arts in Education (Residency) have a minimum of 30 contact hours. Artist Performances on Tour be a professional artist; solo artists and at least 50% of duos and ensembles must be a Florida resident for at least one year prior to the application deadline and maintain residency in Florida throughout the project; be able to demonstrate performances and educational components of high quality; use a professional contract, press kit and promotional materials; may not be enrolled in a degree or certificate program; and be able to substantiate their touring experience. Teaching Artists be professional artists and educators; be a Florida resident for at least one year prior to the application deadline and maintain residency in Florida throughout the project; be able to provide evidence of classroom experience. be 18 years of age or older; and not be enrolled in a degree or certificate program. Museum discipline be open to the public for at least 180 days a year; own or utilize works of art, historical artifacts or other tangible objects (live or inanimate); and exhibit these works of art, historical artifacts or other tangible objects to the public on a regular schedule. The Arts and Culture Access funding is designed to support the engagement of Orange County Public Schools students in the arts, which is associated with improvements in math, reading, cognitive abilities, critical thinking, verbal skills, motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork. This initiative facilitates students' development of these skills through field trips and in-school programs that are integrated into their class curriculum. The program welcomes applications year-round, with a primary funding decision period in late summer. Applications from small businesses that have not received prior COVID-19 relief funding will be prioritized.  The City had a total of $390,000 available to expend on grants of up to $10,000 per approved applicant. As of mid-March, 23 applicants had been approved for grants, leaving a total of approximately $165,000 remaining. Eligible small businesses may receive up to $10,000 in the form of a reimbursement grant, which can be used for business-related expenses, including mortgage, rent, utility, insurance premium costs, reopening costs, costs for safety measures and payroll during a business closure. The City received funds for the COVID-19 Small Business Grant Program from FloridaCommerce through its Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Program. The Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside program (TA), funded by the United States Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) through the Surface Development Block Grant, is administered by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). This program is dedicated to funding smaller-scale transportation projects that enhance nonmotorized travel options and safety. Eligible projects include on- and off-road bicycle and pedestrian facilities, recreational trails, safe routes for non-drivers, safe routes to schools, and ADA compliance improvements. Furthermore, TA supports projects that incorporate cultural, historical, and environmental elements into transportation infrastructure, such as historic preservation, vegetation management, archaeological activities related to transportation, and environmental mitigation related to stormwater and habitat connectivity. The Little Haiti Revitalization Trust is launching the Small Business Grant Program to support economic growth and revitalization in Little Haiti, Miami. The Trust will oversee and facilitate the city's revitalization efforts in line with the Five-Year Consolidated Plan. The program aims to stimulate employment, business growth, and investment within the Little Haiti boundaries. Eligible businesses can receive up to $20,000 for commercial improvements or $10,000 for innovation improvements, with a match option available. The City of Tallahassee's Vibrant Neighborhoods Grant Program (VNG) aims to support resident-led projects that improve the quality of life in Tallahassee neighborhoods.
