The Aquatic Stewardship Grant Program, formerly known as the Aquatic Education Grant Program, is organized by the ODNR Division of Wildlife. The Ohio Division of Wildlife's "STEP OUTSIDE" grant program is designed to support local government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other family and youth-oriented facilities in promoting outdoor skills such as fishing, hunting, trapping, archery, and shooting sports. This grant aims to fund activities that are unaffordable for the sponsoring agency or organization and is not intended to support existing programs or provide ongoing funding for new programs or activities. Eligible applicants include city, county, and community park and recreation agencies, local and state conservation clubs, and youth-oriented groups such as scouts, 4-H, YMCA/YWCA, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, etc. The program emphasizes that private individuals are not eligible. BWC uses the Trench Safety Grant (TSG) Program to partner with Ohio employers to substantially reduce or eliminate injuries associated with trenching operations. The TSG does not fund equipment purchases for technical rescue operations. The program is available to eligible Ohio employers who wish to purchase the following qualified/allowed items: Shoring: aluminum, hydraulic, or other types of supports to prevent soil movement and cave-ins. Shielding: trench boxes or other types of supports to protect against soil cave-ins. As part of our Safety Grant programming, the TSG Program is available only to Ohio employers that perform trenching and excavating. Eligible employers may receive up to $12,000 for the duration of the TSG Program. This is a 4-to-1 matching grant, which means BWC will provide $4 for every $1 an employer invests in the intervention. The School Safety and Security Grant (SSSG) has been expanded to also help cover the costs of inspections, assessments, maintenance, and improvements to indoor heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems as well as the purchase of other secondary devices to control the spread of airborne contaminants, including viruses, for eligible applicants. This additional funding of $15,000 is available to any qualifying entity under the SSSG program policy and is available specifically for the purchase of HVAC improvements only. Eligible applicants may apply even if they have exhausted all previously available SSSG funds. The Ohio Meat Processing Grant Program, initially established by House Bill 110 of the 134th Ohio General Assembly and further funded by House Bill 33 of the 135th General Assembly, is designed to support Ohio livestock and poultry producers. This program offers grants up to $500,000 to assist in the improvement and expansion of meat harvesting/processing services. These grants aim to enhance processing efficiency and support the expansion or construction of facilities on existing sites. Administered by the Ohio Department of Development, eligible businesses must be for-profit entities operating a Federal or State registered meat harvesting/processing facility in Ohio as of July 1, 2023. Funding can cover a range of costs associated with plant construction/expansion and the purchase of new/upgraded machinery or technology, excluding personnel costs, land purchases, and non-eligible expenses. The organization must have been established for atleast three years and should have a proven track record. The organization should provide data to support its impact. The organization must serve Cuyahoga County. The organization should provide a minimum of one letter of support. The organization must demonstrate that funding will be utilized for 80% programming and 20% operations and/or marketing. The organization must be a 501©3 or have a fiscal agent. The OneOhio Recovery Foundation’s first round of grants will be awarded to eligible organizations that apply and are selected for funding by one of the 19 OneOhio Regions. The Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC) promotes economic opportunities while supporting safety and quality of life concerns across Ohio's extensive rail infrastructure. The Brownfield Remediation Program for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 aims to award grants for the remediation of brownfield sites across Ohio, focusing on the removal of hazardous substances or petroleum to facilitate economic development.
