Funding Information ​The Oregon Department of Energy has about $1.2 million available for grants to eligible local governments for energy efficiency, renewable energy, or transportation-related projects. The minimum grant for a qualifying community is $50,000. The maximum grant amount is $100,000. Period of Performance If awarded, a grant applicant’s Performance Agreement will outline the timeframe required to receive the grant award. In general, EECBG Performance Agreements are anticipated to provide 24 months from the date of the agreement for the project to be completed. Eligible Applicants  An applicant must be an Oregon unit of local government which was not otherwise eligible to receive a direct EECBG formula grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (U.S. DOE). This grant provides funding to agricultural professionals and organizations in the Western U.S. to implement educational and demonstration projects that promote the adoption of sustainable farming practices based on previous research findings.

The Whipple Foundation Fund, established by Mildred Whipple in 2003, aims to improve and enhance lifelong learning for the residents of Douglas County. The fund supports the reopening of libraries that were previously part of the Douglas County Library System, with a particular emphasis on reopening the Mildred Whipple Library in Drain. The fund also intends to make an annual grant to the American Leadership Forum to support the participation of an emerging leader from Douglas County. Additionally, the fund prioritizes early childhood programs from prenatal to kindergarten readiness, focusing on initiatives that address school readiness and healthy families in collaboration with other funders. While these priorities receive high consideration, other projects supporting the education of Douglas County residents may also apply. Groups formed solely for performing a project in a neighborhood should have a 501(c)3 or 501(c)6 nonprofit organization to serve as their fiscal agent. Private property owner or for-profit entity may be eligible if the applicant does the following: leases or provides space for no fee or at a substantially reduced rate to meet the needs of a nonprofit organization or community group (it is strongly encouraged to apply in partnership with the non-profit organization); and provides or proposes to provide a significant community benefit that adds to the livability for area residents. If awarded, applicant must produce documentation that grant funds will be used only for improvements to space occupied by a nonprofit or directly related to providing a community benefit, and benefits will be ongoing for a minimum of three years. The Youth Opioid Prevention Grant Program (YOPGP) supports efforts in Oregon City to discourage or prevent youths within community from the misuse of opioids and prevent or reduce overdose deaths or other opioid-related harms through evidence-based or evidence-informed programs or strategies, which will improve community’s overall quality of life by investing in programs that focus directly on youth. School-based or youth-focused programs or strategies that have demonstrated effectiveness in preventing drug misuse and seem likely to be effective in preventing the uptake and use of opioids. Community-based education or intervention services for families, youth, and adolescents at risk for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and any co-occurring Substance Use Disorder/Mental Health (SUD/MH) conditions. Evidence-informed programs or curricula to address mental health needs of young people who may be at risk of misusing opioids or other drugs, including emotional modulation and resilience skills. Greater access to mental health services and supports for young people, including services and supports provided by school nurses, behavioral health workers or other school staff, to address mental health needs in young people that (when not properly addressed) increase the risk of opioid or another drug misuse. B. Prevent Overdose Deaths And Other Harms (Harm Reduction)  Support efforts to prevent or reduce overdose deaths or other opioid-related harms through evidence-based or evidence-informed programs or strategies that may include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide increased availability and distribution of naloxone and other drugs that treat overdoses for first responders, overdose patients, individuals with OUD and their friends and family members, schools, or community navigators and outreach workers. Training and education regarding naloxone and other drugs that treat overdoses for overdose patients, patients taking opioids, families, schools, and community support groups. Funding Information The Oregon City Budget Committee earmarked $40,000 each year. The City will distribute a total of up to $40,000 in awards, with a maximum up to $20,000.
