The Fund responds to community concerns and drives strategic cross-sector plans for collective impact as they eliminate barriers that create health, economic, gender, and racial inequities. WFM is committed to investing in organizations working with Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian and Pacific Islander communities, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, Greater and rural MN communities, and immigrant and refugee populations. The Fund for Safety has three priorities with anticipated outcomes listed below. As a result of listening to communities and grantee-partners, WFM invests in healing from trauma and cultivating community-centered solutions for survivors of gender-based violence, which includes sex trafficking, domestic violence, rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse of elders and people with disabilities, as well as state and structural violence. Prevent cycles of gender-based violence with young women, men, and gender-expansive people to address misogyny, misogynoir, and toxic masculinity through education to promote healthy gender norms and relationships. Grant Purpose To provide direct services to crime victims. Direct services are defined as those efforts that: Respond to the emotional and physical needs of crime victims Assist primary and secondary victims of crime to stabilize their lives after a victimization Assist victims to understand and participate in the criminal justice system Provide victims of crime with a measure of safety such as boarding up broken windows and replacing or repairing locks Priority is given to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse. The OVW Grants to Tribal Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Coalitions Program (Tribal Coalitions Program (CFDA 16.557) is authorized by 34 U.S.C. 10441(d) and 34 U.S.C. 12511(d). This grant program supports the development and operation of nonprofit, nongovernmental Tribal domestic violence and sexual assault coalitions. Each recognized coalition will receive the same amount of base funding. Sexual assault coalitions and dual domestic violence/sexual assault coalitions will receive an additional amount for sexual assault-focused activities.

This funding opportunity provides financial assistance to local governments, state agencies, and eligible nonprofits in areas affected by wildfires to implement measures that reduce future wildfire risks and enhance community resilience.

Under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act ("IIJA"), the Department of Energy (DOE) provides formula grants to states and Indian Tribes for projects aimed at improving the resilience of the electric grid against disruptions caused by extreme weather, wildfires, or natural disasters. The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) manages the application process, expense reviews, and reimbursements for eligible entities, with funding provided on a reimbursement basis. The program partners with the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to establish program objectives and metrics for resilience investments. The DOE will allocate $459 million annually over five years, with Texas expecting approximately $150 million. Eligible entities include electric grid operators, electricity storage operators, electricity generators, transmission owners or operators, distribution providers, and fuel suppliers. Preferred resilience measures include weatherization technologies, fire-resistant technologies, monitoring and control technologies, vegetation management, and adaptive protection technologies.
