The program encourages the development of training opportunities specifically designed for military veterans. AgVets projects will offer onsite, hands-on training and classroom education leading to a comprehensive understanding of successful farm and ranch operations and management practices. Projects may also offer workforce readiness and employment prospects for service-disabled veterans. Ensuring there are pathways for military veterans interested in pursuing careers in agriculture regardless of age or production choice strengthens agricultural production and rural economies across the United States. Background: U.S. Embassy Colombo supports a variety of exchange and learning opportunities for Sri Lankans to foster skills and capacity in areas of leadership, community engagement, civic discourse, entrepreneurship media, social media, and technology. CDPs Foreign Assistance Leveraged for Cybersecurity Operational Needs FALCON project is intended to establish and maintain a reservoir of primarily commercial cybersecurity and technology capabilities that CDP can draw upon in short order and in a wide variety of situations to support U.S. allies and partners to effectively prevent, respond to, mitigate, and recover from cybersecurity incidents. The objective of the project is to support partner governments, their subordinate agencies and critical infrastructure operators and partners in their efforts to identify, prevent, respond to, mitigate and recover from cybersecurity incidents.

With this solicitation, BJA seeks to enhance the capacities of state, local, territorial, and tribal criminal justice systems to prevent, investigate, and respond to economic, high-technology, white collar, and internet crimes by delivering TTA to diverse stakeholders. In addition, the program is intended to serve as a key resource to identify new and emerging issues in economic, high-technology, white collar, and internet crime.

Cyber-physical systems (CPS) are engineered systems that are built from, and depend upon, the seamless integration of computation and physical components. Advances in CPS will enable capability, adaptability, scalability, resiliency, safety, security, and usability that will expand the horizons of these critical systems. CPS technologies are transforming the way people interact with engineered systems, just as the Internet has transformed the way people interact with information. New, smart CPS drive innovation and competition in a range of application domains including agriculture, aeronautics, building design, civil infrastructure, energy, environmental quality, healthcare and personalized medicine, manufacturing, and transportation. CPS are becoming data-rich enabling new and higher degrees of automation and autonomy. Traditional ideas in CPS research are being challenged by new concepts emerging from artificial intelligence and machine learning. The integration of artificial intelligence with CPS, especially for real-time operation, creates new research opportunities with major societal implications. While tremendous progress has been made in advancing CPS technologies, the demand for innovation across application domains is driving the need to accelerate fundamental research to keep pace. At the same time, the CPS program seeks to open new vistas for the research community to think beyond the usual cyber-physical paradigms and structures and propose creative ideas to address the myriad challenges of today's systems as well as those of the future that have not yet been designed or fielded. The CPS program aims to develop the core research needed to engineer these complex CPS, some of which may also require dependable, high-confidence, or provable behaviors. Core research areas of the program includecontrol, data analytics, and machinelearning including real-time learning for control, autonomy, design, Internet of Things (IoT), mixed initiatives including human-in- or human-on-the-loop, networking, privacy, real-time systems, safety, security, and verification. By abstracting from the particulars of specific systems and application domains, the CPS program seeks to reveal cross-cutting, fundamental scientific and engineering principles that underpin the integration of cyber and physical elements across all application domains. The program additionally supports the development of methods, tools, and hardware and software components based upon these cross-cutting principles, along with validation of the principles via prototypes and testbeds. This program also fosters a research community that is committed to advancing education and outreach in CPSand accelerating the transition of CPS research into the real world. All proposals must include the following as part of the Project Description: AResearch Descriptionthat describes the technical rationaleand technical approach of the CPS research, including the challenges that drive the research problem and how the research integrates cyber and physical components.This section must also describe how the research outcomes are translational to other application domains. Specifically, it must include: A subsection titled "CPS Research Focus" which describes the cyber-physical system attributes of the challenge problem and clearly identifies the core CPS research areas addressed in which the novel and foundational research contributions are being made. This is intended as not a list of core areas but a focused discussion with content An Evaluation/Experimentation Plan that describes how proposed concepts will be validated and outlines the metrics for success; A Project Management and Collaboration Plan that summarizes how the project team is ideally suited to realize the project goals and how the team will ensure effective collaboration; NSF is working closely with multiple agencies across the federal government, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Highway Administration (FHWA); and the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA NIFA, hereafter referred to as NIFA). They are well suited to emerging new and innovative ideas that may have high impact on the field of CPS. Small projects proposals may be submitted at anytime during the year-long annual submission window. Medium projects may request a total budget ranging from $600,001 to $1,200,000 for a period of up to 3 years. They are well suited to multi-disciplinary projects that accomplish clear goals requiring integrated perspectives spanning the disciplines. Medium Projects proposals may be submitted at anytime during the year-long annual submission window. Frontierprojects must address clearly identified critical CPS challenges that cannot be achieved by a set of smaller projects. Furthermore, Frontier projects should also look to push the boundaries of CPS well beyond today's systems and capabilities. Funding may be requested for a total of $1,200,001 to $7,000,000 for a period of 4 to 5 years. Note that the Frontier projects have a specific deadline.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) announced the Fiscal Year 2024 Solar Energy Supply Chain Incubator funding opportunity (FOA), which will provide up to $50.5 million for research, development, and demonstration (RD) projects that de-risk solar hardware, manufacturing processes, and software products across a wide range of solar technology areas. The research and development (R) and demonstration (RD) activities to be funded under this FOA will support the government-wide approach to the climate crisis by driving the innovation that can lead to the deployment of clean energy technologies, which are critical for climate protection. Specifically, this FOA will support the DOE decarbonization goals by advancing innovative solar hardware, software, and manufacturing processes across a broad range of technology readiness levels, from laboratory-scale to pilot-scale testing and prototype demonstration. Technologies of interest include photovoltaics (PV), systems integration, and concentrating solar-thermal power (CSP) technologies, as well as those that connect solar with storage or electric vehicles and dual-use PV applications like agrivoltaics and vehicle-integrated PV. SETO encourages for-profit applicants to team with diverse institutions including academic institutions, non-profits, state and local governments, and Tribal governments. The FOA also seeks projects that provide outreach, education, or technology development for software that delivers an automated permit review and approval process for rooftop solar PV with or without energy storage. Both for-profit and non-profit entities are eligible to apply under this topic. SETO expects to make between 11 and 23 awards ranging from $1 million to $6 million under this FOA. With this solicitation, BJA, in coordination with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and the Office of Victims of Crime (OVC), seeks applications to provide a range of training and technical assistance (TTA) to grantees and the field at large under the Community Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative (CVIPI). This will build on the portfolio of existing providers and add new expertise in the following areas: trauma-informed practices and workforce development for Community Violence Intervention (CVI) organizations and staff, mass casualty shooting reviews, law enforcement engagement with CVI programs, TTA network support and coordination, and strategic communications.

The Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs Office of Assistance Coordination (NEA/AC) and Embassy Tunis Assistance Unit seek proposals to address the social and economic hurdles facing repatriated Tunisian migrants voluntarily or forcibly returning to their home country. The proposals should focus on women and youth who encounter barriers to education, social support systems, and employment.

The purpose of this project is to build Armenians' confidence in the criminal justice sector through tangible reforms that are relevant to the publics experience with the justice system. These include increasing public confidence in case outcome, strengthening legal defense mechanisms and public advocacy, institutionalizing technical and legal skills training for criminal justice officers, and upholding the rights of the most vulnerable individuals in Armenia. With this NOFO, INL seeks a partner to implement sustained institutional change in targeted areas of the justice sector identified by INL as well as the ability to rapidly respond to emerging needs and observations in the field crucial to INLs overarching desired results, objectives, and success of this program. With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to select organization(s) to provide training and technical assistance geared toward strengthening prosecution efforts as listed below: Prosecution of cases of child victimization while in custodial care. These are cases in which children or youth report that they have been victimized while in out-of-home placement, whether that is foster care, group home, shelter care, or a custodial setting. These cases are far less likely to result in prosecution than cases in which a child or youth has been victimized while not in out-of-home placement.

The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a project to increase basic access to justice in rural regions and for vulnerable populations throughout the Central African Republic.Central Africans in remote and conflict-affected communities continue to lack basic access to justice services and require assistance relating to crimes against vulnerable populations, such as children, elderly, widows, and orphans, LGBTQI+, and victims of sexual- and gender-based violence (SGBV). Despite substantial progress in recent years, CARs justice institutions lack the infrastructure and resources to provide legal services to a substantial section of the countrys population. CAR remote populations possess limited knowledge of how court system operations, available legal protections, and difficulty accessing courts with limited functionality. The absence of accessible, functional, and credible justice institutions has a profound impact on the lives of marginalized Central African populations as the risk of physical violence remains.

The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL) announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for a project that supports the meaningful political and civic participation of youth in the Solomon Islands.

With this solicitation, BJA is seeking applications for funding under the Ashanti Alert National Network Training and Technical Assistance Program. This program will assist in completing the elements set forth in the Ashanti Alert Act for the development, implementation, and maintenance of this national communication system to assist with the reporting and location of missing adults over the age of 17.

In 2024, SSA is looking for a new organization to help manage the ARDRAW program through a cooperative agreement. The new ARDRAW program will include one-year $15,000 stipends for supervised independent graduate-level student research on rehabilitation, work, and disability topics to a broad spectrum of graduate students, to cultivate new scholars in the field of disability research. In accordance with recent Executive Orders to advance racial equity, support underserved communities, and increased access to federal funding opportunities (including EO 13895 and EO 14112), a new objective for ARDRAW is to the increase the recruitment and participation of students of color and other underrepresented populations in the research areas of work, rehabilitation, and disability, for the purpose of fostering new and inclusive perspectives on disability research.

The EPA South Florida Program provides competitive grants to address the immediate and emerging ecological pressures and threats to south Florida waters including fresh waters, estuaries, bays, and coral reef, central to south Floridas economic and ecological wellbeing. Aquatic ecosystems play a vital role supporting healthy and resilient estuaries, coastal, inland, and near-shore infrastructure by providing food, habitat, nutrient removal, water filtration, storm attenuation, carbon storage, shoreline stabilization, and other financial and tangible benefits.This NOFO solicits applications for the South Florida Program region that includes the 16-county area covered by the South Florida Water Management District as well as the Florida Keys, Florida Reef Tract, Caloosahatchee Estuary, Indian River Lagoon, St. Lucie Estuary, Florida Bay, and Biscayne Bay. Please refer to the map located in Appendix D of the NOFO.This NOFO supports the Special Studies/Research component for the South Florida Program. Special Studies are projects that provide information specific to management questions and concerns, inform policy, and provide understanding of south Florida aquatic ecosystems. Examples of eligible projects include, but are not limited to: supporting monitoring, research, or innovative restoration efforts for key species (e.g. coral, seagrass, sponges, mangroves, etc); research, investigation, and demonstration projects to mitigate harmful algal blooms; residential canal pollution reduction demonstration projects; innovative stormwater pollution reduction demonstration projects; water quality and benthic habitat monitoring; research and management strategies to address contaminants of emerging concern; identifying and understanding cause-effect relationships of pollutants in the environment; addressing specific management questions to protect sensitive ecosystems; applying innovative approaches, methods, or techniques to prevent, treat, and manage pollution from entering waterbodies; and investigating regional water quality impacts from pollution sources.

This shoreline restoration project contributes to the Navys efforts to provide a stable and secure natural environment in which to carry out mission activities and air operations. The work under this Cooperative Agreement will contribute to the future stabilization of the existing shoreline and the conservation of shoreline habitat.
