The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs Office of Conservation, and Water (OES) announces the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for a program to help address and identify solutions to shared water challenges in the Mekong sub-region by developing and hosting the 4th Mekong Research Symposium (MRS), under the Mekong-U.S. Partnership (MUSP). The MRS will convene stakeholders (including academia, private sector, media and journalists, local government, donors, development and financing partners, non-profits, civil society organizations, and indigenous communities) to present on advancements in science and technology, including local solutions, and raise awareness of existing initiatives and resources to provide long-term, equitable benefits across the sub-region.

NIEHS invites applications for cooperative agreements to support the development of model programs for the training and education of workers engaged in activities related to hazardous materials and waste generation, removal, containment, transportation and emergency response within the Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear weapons complex. The aim of this funding opportunity is to prevent work-related harm through safety and health training. The training programs consist of information and practical exercises with the objective of raising the knowledge of workers in protecting themselves and the community from being exposed to hazardous materials encountered during hazardous waste operations; facility decommissioning and decontamination; hazardous materials transportation; environmental restoration of contaminated facilities; or chemical emergency response. Currently, tens of thousands of DOE employees are required to complete safety and health training. The goal of this training is to help reduce the risk of workers being exposed during work activities to hazardous materials and hazardous waste products. The NIEHS/DOE Nuclear Worker Training Program enhances training capabilities at these sites.

This grant provides funding for research and conservation projects aimed at combating the devastating effects of a fungal disease on hibernating bat populations in North America, targeting various stakeholders including governments, nonprofits, and educational institutions.

Notice of Funding Opportunity Summary The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), an agency under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), is announcing the potential availability of funding for the development of small-scale and urban-focused agriculture production activities. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant applications from small business concerns (SBCs) that propose to further the development of Technology-Enhanced Training Products for the health and safety training of hazardous materials (HAZMAT) workers; waste treatment personnel; skilled support personnel associated with an emergency/disaster; emergency responders in biological hazard response, infectious disease response, and medical waste cleanup; emergency responders in disasters; and worker resiliency training. Technology-enhanced training products as defined by the Worker Training Program (WTP) include, but are not limited to, supporting training through various venues such as online training, mobile device training, virtual reality, and serious gaming. These advanced technologies complement all phases of training that can enhance, supplement, improve, and provide health and safety training for hazardous materials workers. These products must complement the goals and objectives of the WTP. The major objective of the NIEHS WTP is to prevent work related harm by training workers in how best to protect themselves and their communities from exposure to hazardous materials. The financial support for this initiative comes directly from NIEHS Worker Education and Training Branch SBIR funds.

MICC-FSH announces a potential partnering opportunity for the Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) Army Compatible Use Buffer (ACUB) program. The successful applicant(s) will, after coordinating with JBLM encroachment planners and natural resource managers:(a) Negotiate the purchase of easements or fee simple property (perpetual real property interests) from willing landowners to allow for natural resource management, or prevent incompatible development that could adversely impact JBLM and/or,(b) Conduct, assist in, or facilitate natural resource management that will result in off-post conservation credits for species listed under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) that occur on JBLM. Additional species may be listed under the ESA during the period of performance of any agreement awarded under this announcement. Inclusion of any such species will be addressed on a case-by-case basis, and with the mutual agreement of JBLM and award recipient.

Authorized by Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 117, 33 USC Section 1267, the Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP) is a unique regional, state, federal, and local partnership that has been directing and conducting the restoration and protection of the Chesapeake Bay. CBP is responsible for supporting the Chesapeake Bay Executive Council (Executive Council) through a number of actions, including the coordination of federal, state, and local efforts to restore and protect living resources and water quality of the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed. The Notice of Funding Opportunity is seeking insightful, expert, and cost-effective applications from eligible applicants to provide the CBPs non-federal partners with updated land use/land cover data, enhanced river corridor data, and landscape metrics and communication products associated with these data to facilitate their application to CBP's outcomes and the CBPs Phase 7 suite of modeling tools. Training programs funded by the Brownfields Job Training Grant provide program graduates with the opportunity to seek and obtain environmental jobs that contractors may otherwise fill from outside the affected community. EPA intends to use this grant opportunity to support the creation of good-paying jobs with the free and fair choice to join a union and the incorporation of strong labor standards and workforce programs. Brownfields Job Training Grants help residents take advantage of jobs across a spectrum of brownfield related activities, including the assessment, cleanup, remediation, and planning/site preparation for the revitalization of brownfields. This can involve the assessment and cleanup of solid and hazardous waste; chemical risk management; stormwater management relating to site cleanup; planning and site preparation for low impact development activities; planning and site preparation for green infrastructure installation and maintenance; and vulnerability assessment and contamination mitigation planning. Applicants will be evaluated on the extent to which they partner with and secure hiring commitments from local contractors and other stakeholders in communities where EPA-funded projects are located.

The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program, established under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), aims to strategically deploy electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the United States. With a total allocation of $5 billion over fiscal years 2022 through 2026, the program focuses on building a reliable, equitable, and interconnected network of EV chargers, particularly along designated Alternative Fuel Corridors (AFCs) and the Interstate Highway System. States are required to submit an annual EV Infrastructure Deployment Plan outlining their intended use of NEVI funds, which must be approved by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The program emphasizes reducing greenhouse gas emissions, supporting equitable EV adoption, and creating sustainable jobs. Plans must address technical standards, data sharing, workforce training, and public engagement, with a strong focus on benefiting disadvantaged communities.

The Mission intends to design an Activity, called Renda Verde, that seeks to boost communities in leveraging the benefits of living in nature across key biodiversity conservation areas ‐ and benefit local people through sharing of nature‐based revenue. In addition to ongoing enforcement to dissuade and punish destruction of natural resources and habitats, this Activity will focus on the tangible incentives of living with nature, seeking to catalyze the market and community benefits of human coexistence with wildlife in harmony across conservation areas, buffer zones and key biodiversity corridors.
