If you are a direct-market agribusiness located in Albemarle County, you’re invited to apply for an Albemarle Agribusiness Resiliency Grant. These impacts result in higher cost of capital overall and less capital to fund growth and reinvestment. To help offset these impacts, Albemarle County will distribute a second round of Agribusiness Resiliency Grants. Grants are available for direct-market agribusinesses – those selling products to restaurants, caterers, local stores; orchards, wineries, and cideries; or at farmers markets. Funding Information  The total budget for this round is $60,000 and staff anticipates making 3-8 grants total. Grant funding may be use for: New capital investments like machinery, tools, other business equipment. Expenses incurred to advance sustainable agricultural practices since July 1, 2022. Expenses incurred to enhance public health, safety, welfare of employees or visitors since July 1, 2022. Expenses incurred to comply with state or local regulations since July 1, 2022. Up to 20% of awarded funds may be used for advertising/marketing. The Prince William County Department of Parks & Recreation is accepting applications for its Arts Grant. The New and Emerging Grant is designed to assist newly established art start-up nonprofit arts groups find their footing through providing some assistance within the first three years of their existence. General Operating Grant was put in place to ensure that the established nonprofit organizations have every opportunity to sustain themselves as they continue to provide rich cultural and art performances to the citizens across the region. Grant Period Activities must be completed July 1 through June 30. Eligibility Requirements  The Prince William County Department of Parks and Recreation will consider grant applications for any organization which: is recognized as a non-profit and exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(a), which includes the 501(c)3 designation, of the Internal Revenue code for at least one year and has completed a season of programs. Albemarle County is offering the second round of Agribusiness Resiliency Grants to support direct-market agribusinesses impacted by the pandemic, including local farms, food businesses, orchards, wineries, and cideries. The program aims to mitigate the effects of higher operating costs and difficulties in accessing capital by providing financial aid. The grants can be used for new capital investments, sustainable agricultural practices, public health and safety enhancements, and compliance with regulations. The application period is from April 19 to May 10, 2024, and applicants must be in good standing with a County business license.

Loudoun County is seeking grant applications from community organizations for the COVID-19 Vaccine Equity Program to support their strategies that ensure greater equity and access to COVID-19 vaccine for those populations disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The priority populations include, but are not limited to, those deemed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: People in racial and ethnic minority groups. People in rural communities. People who have disabilities. People who are homebound or isolated. People who are underinsured or uninsured. People who are immigrants and/or refugees. People who have transportation limitations. Funding for the program, which will be administered by the Loudoun County Health Department, is supported through the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act and the American Rescue Plan Act. Organizations eligible for funding include established nonprofit entities, such as community-based organizations, community health clinics, health care organizations, coalitions and faith-based organizations. Funding Information Amount of Funding Available: $306,407. Award Floor: $ 10,000. Award Ceiling: $ 102,000. Grant Period July 1, 2024 – April 30, 2025. Eligible Expenses Examples of eligible expenses for Cycle 4 COVID-19 vaccine funds include: Project staff positions for any need specifically related to enhancing COVID vaccine efforts (including administrative support staff) Travel Facility rental (off-site vaccination locations) Rental space and meeting space venues, specifically to enhance COVID-19 vaccination Vehicle rental Bus passes, as long as it gets someone to/from a vaccination appointment Associated costs for operating vaccine clinics Health communications materials and health education services Software that helps facilitate information flow. Minimum Eligibility Requirements Organizations applying for funding should be established nonprofit entities such as Community Based Organizations, Community Health Clinics/Centers, healthcare organizations, coalitions, Faith-Based Organizations, local government agencies, local educational agencies, etc., with demonstrated capacity to engage in relevant activities. To be eligible for this grant, the organization must conduct operations in, or must be focused on addressing the community needs in Loudoun County. The City of Charlottesville Office of Economic Development (OED) is offering a business assistance program to existing City-based businesses. The ACE Program serves both new and existing businesses. New businesses, less than six months, may apply for $500 grants and existing businesses, more than six months, may apply for $1,500 grants. Eligible businesses may apply for one-time grant funding that will directly lead to increasing business revenue through acquiring new equipment, products, or services. Business owners are encouraged to apply for equipment, marketing/advertising, or technical assistance that will directly lead to increased business revenue. The ACE Program is targeted towards existing businesses with the immediate potential to increase revenue and business opportunities. To be eligible for the program, business owners must not exceed certain income limits based on household size. The ACE Program is a competitive grant process that serves business owners who emphasize organization, initiative, and the dedication to make their business a success. Initial funding for this program was provided from the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Additional funding from the Charlottesville Economic Development Authority has allowed the program to be expanded.

This program provides matching funds to small, locally owned businesses and property owners in Virginia Beach for significant exterior improvements to enhance the visual appeal of commercial and industrial properties.
