This program provides funding to Pennsylvania vegetable producers for marketing and research initiatives to improve vegetable cultivation and sales.

The Agricultural Fair Operational & Premium Reimbursement Program is designed to support Pennsylvania's certified agricultural county and community fairs by offering partial reimbursements for their annual general operating costs and premium expenses for exhibitors. This initiative is in accordance with the Pennsylvania Agricultural Fair Act of 1986 and State Premium Guidelines. Eligible fairs, which are classified into five classes based on size and scope, can receive a basic operational payment up to specified limits, ranging from $2,500 for Class E fairs to $14,000 for Class A fairs. Additionally, fairs can be reimbursed for 50% of the money paid out for agricultural premiums beyond the basic payment, with a cap of $15,000 for these additional premiums. There's also a provision for county and independent agricultural societies conducting harness horse racing during their annual fairs, with possible reimbursements up to $13,000. The FFA Reimbursement Program provides funds to county FFA organizations in Pennsylvania to support a portion of their annual expenses for activities promoting leadership development. This program is structured to allocate funds based on enrollment data across three tiers: Tier I organizations with 100 members or less receive base funding of $1,000 plus an additional $4.00 per member; Tier II organizations with 101 to 210 members receive $2,000 base funding plus an additional $2.00 per member; Tier III organizations with more than 211 members receive $2,000 plus an additional $2.00 per member for every member under 210 and $4.00 per member for every member over 210. The program aims to enhance leadership skills among young agricultural leaders through various educational activities. Enactment of additional continuing resolutions or an appropriations act may affect the availability or level of funding for this program. The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), an agency under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), is announcing the potential availability of funding for agreements for the purpose of leveraging NRCS resources, addressing local natural resource issues, encouraging collaboration and developing state-and-community-level conservation leadership. Proposals must be for projects based in Iowa and focus on conservation issues. Collaborative projects that provide on-the-ground support for Iowa NRCS Field Offices are highly encouraged. Research proposals will not be accepted, nor considered. NRCS anticipates that the amount available for support of this program in FY 2024 will be up to $5,000,000.00, however, budget constraints may prevent NRCS from funding 2024 proposals. Proposals are requested from City or township governments, county governments, federally recognized Native American tribal governments, state governments, nonprofits having a 501 (c)(3) status with the IRS (other than institutions of higher education), or institutions of higher education for competitive consideration of awards for projects between 2 and 5 years in duration. The 4-H Reimbursement Program is designed to support county 4-H organizations in Pennsylvania by reimbursing a portion of their annual expenses for activities that promote leadership development. The program classifies organizations into four tiers based on membership, offering base funding plus additional per-member reimbursement. Tier 1 organizations with up to 1,000 members receive $1,000 plus $1.50 for each traditional member and $1.00 for each school enrichment/special interest member. Tier 2 covers 1,001 to 2,000 members with $2,500 base funding; Tier 3 includes 2,001 to 3,000 members with $3,000 base funding; and Tier 4 supports over 3,001 members with $3,500 base funding, with a maximum reimbursement of $9,000. AgWest Farm Credit's New Producer Grant Program supports new agricultural producers who have two years or less of operational experience or plan to start their operation within two years of applying. The grant aims to alleviate the challenge of lacking start-up funds, celebrating the ingenuity and passion of new producers. Successful applicants will receive a one-time $15,000 grant to support their operation's growth. The grant focuses on applicants within AgWest Farm Credit’s territory who are not current lending customers and are U.S. citizens or lawful residents.

The purpose of this cooperative agreement is to contribute to the knowledge base of and development of food safety systems globally due to the increasingly diverse and complex food supply. This cooperative agreement will: 1) enhance and broaden FDAs ability to address global food safety and public health issues associated with food, 2) provide opportunities to leverage additional resources among WTO member countries, and3) support the FDAs Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and its International Food Safety Capacity Building Plan, which emphasizes the concept of preventing food safety- related problems before they occur and the importance of establishing strong relationships and mutual support among all stakeholders, including multilateral organizations, to improve worldwide food safety. 4) Support global research and capacity building to improve best practices to build effective food safety systems in low- and middle-income countries

The purpose of this NOFO is: 1) To facilitate long-term improvements to the national food safety system by strengthening interagency collaboration, improving the states;apos; regulatory and surveillance protection programs for manufactured foods, conducting research, and promoting the Manufactured Food Regulatory Program Standards (MFRPS); and 2) The continued development, implementation, management, and support of a funding system for those state and territorial agencies that have primary responsibility for regulating Grade A milk or molluscan shellfish (or both). Such agencies may apply and be sub-awarded funds to facilitate training, equipment purchases, or provide for other priorities needed to implement the Grade "A" Milk Safety program and the National Shellfish Sanitation Program (NSSP) within their respective jurisdictions.

FDA announces the availability of fiscal year (FY) 2024 funds to support one or more projects to 1) collect antimicrobial use data from diverse animal sectors, including domestic livestock, poultry, companion animals (dogs, cats, and horses), and minor species (e.g., fish, sheep, goats) and 2) contribute to the development of data collection frameworks, including providing data and expertise as resources and a public-private partnership frameworks are established. This grant will support the continued advancement of FDA;apos;s initiatives to support antimicrobial stewardship in veterinary settings. It will also support the National Action Plan objectives to engage the animal health community and relevant stakeholders to advance strategies intended to improve understanding of antimicrobial use and foster antimicrobial stewardship in animal agriculture.

About: The White-Reinhardt Fund for Education is a special funding opportunity from the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture® in cooperation with the American Farm Bureau® Women’s Leadership Committee. It was established to honor two former chairs of that committee (Berta White and Linda Reinhardt, leaders in the national effort to improve agricultural literacy) by enlarging agricultural literacy efforts across the United States. The project grant is one of two components of the fund. Purpose: Grants are offered to state and county Farm Bureaus in amounts up to $1,000 for education programs for grades K-12 to initiate new programs or expand existing programs to additional grade levels or new subject areas. The purpose of the fund is to support projects that will expand agricultural literacy. Eligibility: Grants are offered to state and county Farm Bureaus on a competitive basis with priority given to those programs demonstrating a need for financial support. Grant Application Timeline: There will be one application cycle per year that will occur during the summer. Next Cycle: Applications will be due June 16. AFBFA will send applications to State Farm Bureau’s for approval on June 20. State Farm Bureaus have until June 28 to approve grants. Recipients will be notified on or around July 3. Initial funding will be issued the beginning of August. Reports will be due by June 28, 2024 and final payments processed. Application Guidelines: Grant applications must be completed and submitted via online submission. The Foundation will send applications to the state Farm Bureau administrator or agricultural literacy coordinator for approval. Applications to the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture must be approved by their respective State Farm Bureau by June 28 for this year’s program. Those projects selected for grants will receive one-half of the grant at the beginning of the project and the balance upon completion of the project and submission of a final written report to the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture. Both county Farm Bureaus and state Farm Bureaus in the same state are eligible to apply. Each county Farm Bureau may submit only one application for a county project. Each state Farm Bureau may submit only one application for a statewide project in addition to any county projects (one per county). By submitting county applications, the state is verifying that the request originates with a county Farm Bureau. Funding is not available for mileage, field trips, wages and benefits, safety programs or one-time consumable products such as copying, paper, seeds or meals. The intent is to build capacity by funding items that can be used repeatedly. Grant payments can be made only to a state or county Farm Bureau. Payments cannot be made to individuals or to other organizations. Selection Criteria: All applications must be for agricultural literacy programs. This program is not to address farm safety education. Due to the large number of applications, all applications will be pre-screened for compliance with grant proposal guidelines. Any grant application not meeting guidelines will be eliminated from the judging process prior to examination by judges. The following areas will disqualify: Applicant failing to follow directions. Applications submitted after the deadline. Consumables in budget. Applications not meeting basic qualifications as an agricultural literacy program.
