The Women’s Foundation of Minnesota has launched the Innovators Program. Through the Innovators program, WFM provides microgrants of $3,000 directly to young women and gender-expansive people (ages 16-24) to fuel their ideas and support their development as leaders with microgrants, cohort-based learning, and individual leadership coaching. Innovators leadership, ideas, and solutions advance key recommendations in the Young Women’s Initiative of Minnesota’s (YWI MN) Blueprint for Action. Grants through the Innovators program fund projects that advance gender and racial equity and justice, led by visionary leaders who are leading within their communities from the intersections of their identities and experiences. Innovators meet as a cohort in-person for technical support and leadership development.  Focus Areas GOAL 1: Build Pathways to Economic Opportunity. GOAL 2: Improve Safety and Well-being. Participation Leadership Convenings & Coaching – WFMN will engage young women in mandatory online and/or in-person convenings for leadership development, advocacy, and building community. The convenings will give young women an opportunity to support, develop, and scale their leadership and ideas. This leadership development includes direct professional coaching to support Innovators in their grant-funded projects and to deepen their leadership for the long term. Eligibility Criteria The Women’s Foundation of Minnesota is accepting applications from eligible applicants in the state of Minnesota. Eligible candidates: Must be 16-24 years old at the date of program kickoff. Identify as a young woman and/or gender-expansive youth. The definition of a young woman is anyone who identifies as a woman. The program is inclusive of transgender, gender nonconforming, gender nonbinary, and all gender-expansive people who experience gender-based structural harm. Applicants must reside in the state of Minnesota throughout the grant period. Priority given to young women and gender-expansive leaders who identify with at least one of the priority communities of the Young Women’s Initiative of Minnesota: Black/African American, African Immigrant, American Indian, Hispanic/Latina, Asian/Pacific Islander, LGBTQ+, Disabilities, Greater/Rural Minnesota. The City of Greenbelt Micro Grant is a one-time, matching, reimbursable grant intended to be a resident-led initiative aimed at building community and engaging new people across neighborhoods. The objective of the Micro Grant is to help strengthen relationships between neighbors, cultivate the spirit of volunteerism, connect residents, increase civic participation, celebrate community, and to encourage lasting community engagement. Micro Grant Goals To support resident-led projects and activities that build community. Encourage new and/or stronger relationships between Greenbelt residents. Create welcoming and inclusive opportunities that foster authentic relationships among neighbors. Empower residents to take responsibility for building connections and addressing community needs. The value of the neighborhood’s match must be 25% of the amount requested from the grant. Funding Information This is a one-time, reimbursable grant funded through the American Rescue Plan Act to help communities move beyond the COVID pandemic and to broaden Greenbelt’s connections to all its neighborhoods and residents. Funding for Micro Grants range between $250 and $1,000 depending on the type of grant requested. Community Event Grants are eligible for up to $500. Neighborhood Communication Grants are eligible for up to $750. Community Enhancement Grants are eligible for up to $1,000. Eligible Activities & Programs Community Event Grant: The purpose of this grant is to support efforts by neighborhoods to organize “neighborhood” social events or gatherings. The intent is to build relationships among neighbors and support fun social events, such as neighborhood block parties, festivals, cultural events, holiday events, outdoor health/recreation (walking, biking, running) events, emergency preparedness fairs, and community events designed to bring people together. Neighborhood Communication Grant: Funds can be used to enhance communication, including neighborhood websites, mailings, newsletters, neighborhood brochures, calendars, information kiosks, etc. Neighborhood Improvement Grant: Funding for these grants are intended to encourage neighbors to come together to plan and complete a project to help improve the quality of life in their neighborhood. Activities may include beautification projects, clean-up activities, a neighborhood gardening project, landscape beautification, playground and minor park improvements, tree planting, public art to enhance the community, adding or modifying entrance signs, community benches, bike racks, dog waste stations, or other such related improvements. Grant Requirements  Project/activity must take place in the City of Greenbelt Take place within the neighborhood’s boundaries. Project/activity must be visible and impact the community/neighborhood. Have a minimum of five neighborhood residents involved in the proposed project. Involve neighborhood residents in all phases of the project/activity. Provide a public benefit to the neighborhood. What are acceptable requests for funding? Examples of acceptable purposes include, but are not limited to: Costs (up to $500) of non-reimbursed medical or therapy treatments not covered by insurance or other programs Continuing education or career development opportunities Specialty equipment services or supplies Respite services to the recipient or caregivers Computers (up to $500) and adaptive software Camp tuition and recreational activities – applications for camp tuition or recreational activities are reviewed and awarded on an ongoing basis starting in February. The funds go quickly; applications submitted early in the year are more likely to be funded Vocational, academic classes or specialized (requiring vehicle modifications or specialized instruction) driver evaluation and training Modifications to living area, work site or vehicle (vehicle repairs up to $500 with written estimate with limit of two grants). Who may apply? Individuals and/or their families with physical, developmental or emotional disabilities. The person receiving the award must be a New Hampshire resident. Grants are awarded for people with the following disabilities: Physical Disability A physical disability is a condition that presents a long-term barrier to independently accomplishing tasks of daily living including walking and driving. People with temporary conditions expected to improve or are sufficiently controlled with medication or treatment such as a broken bone, asthma, recovery from surgery or short-term illness would not qualify. Emotional Disability – Adults Adults diagnosed with a Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) which includes schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder and borderline personality disorder are eligible. Emotional Disability – Children Eligible diagnoses for children are broader but must constitute a significant mental health issue that impacts their daily level of functioning. Intellectual, Cognitive, Learning or Developmental Disability People with acquired intellectual/cognitive disabilities from brain injury, dementia or who are identified with a developmental disability or delay or significant learning disability by an MD, social service agency or other qualified medical or human service entity may be eligible for Harry Gregg funds. The goal is to be a grant of $10,000 awarded to an extraordinarily talented player every two years: a grant that would be life changing. The grant favors projects that emphasize musical development and growth over funding commercial recordings. Eligibility Criteria  Eligibility is open to US-based jazz brass players between the ages of 18-25 years who are currently not under professional management. Beginning this cycle, the grant now includes lead trumpet applicants. All applicants must be 25 or under as of June 1, 2024. Applicants need not be currently enrolled in an academic institution. The Redford Center Grants program is open for 2024 applications from April 4 to May 10, focusing on environmental nonfiction films or docuseries at any stage of development. Eligible projects can be in development, production, or post-production stages but must not be picture locked. Successful applicants will receive a $25,000 grant for the first year to support production and impact campaign expenses, with an opportunity for further funding in the second year. The program includes participation in a Grantee Summit, virtual film showcase, and comprehensive support including learning sessions, networking, promotional backing, and community building focused on environmental issues and innovative storytelling.

This funding initiative provides financial support to Palo Alto residents for neighborhood events that promote community engagement and strengthen local connections.

This grant provides financial support for community-focused projects in Fulton County, Indiana, aimed at improving quality of life across various sectors such as education, health, and recreation.

Humanities Montana Research Fellowship supports projects with a central focus in the humanities, a clearly defined theme, and involvement of professional humanists. Projects must include a public program, publicity, and evaluation plans where appropriate. There is a 1:1 cost-share requirement and applications involving Native American communities or cultures must demonstrate their involvement or address why they are not involved. Humanities Montana cannot fund projects focusing on personal concerns, non-public meetings, construction or operating expenses of existing organizations, lobbying or direct social action, one-sided treatment of an issue, fundraising for profit-making groups, alcoholic beverages or entertainment costs, and candidates running for political office.
