The City of Champaign is announcing the availability of funding for the 2024-2025 program year through the Community Matters youth program. The Community Pride Foundation offers grants to support youth activities that encompass arts, athletics/sports, education, and leadership. Eligible applicants include public schools, youth organizations, nonprofit organizations, and public/governmental agencies. The grant does not fund individuals. Proposals must be youth-centered, involve active youth participation, and focus on the program rather than equipment. The Healthy Environment or All (HEAL) Capacity grant program focuses on enhancing community-led decision making to advancing environmental justice (EJ) and building climate resilience. The Community Livability Grant (CLG) provides grants to community-based organizations for projects that promote healthy, complete, and resilient neighborhoods and respond to and respect the diversity of its residents. The TSAF eligibility criteria is as follows: Federally recognized tribal governments in the lower 48 states and Alaska (tribal government programs, such as tribal housing authority, cultural departments, economic development entities, etc.) Tribally-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations (fiscally-sponsored tribal community organizations, tribal community organizations without a 501(c)(3) nonprofit status may submit an application through a sponsoring organization if the sponsor has IRS 501(c)(3) status and can provide written authorization confirming its willingness to act as the fiscal sponsor. Schools that are tribally-controlled 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and schools that are tribally-operated such as tribal colleges and universities (TCUs), any public or Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) schools. The Youth Opioid Prevention Grant Program (YOPGP) supports efforts in Oregon City to discourage or prevent youths within community from the misuse of opioids and prevent or reduce overdose deaths or other opioid-related harms through evidence-based or evidence-informed programs or strategies, which will improve community’s overall quality of life by investing in programs that focus directly on youth. Corrective advertising or affirmative public education campaigns based on evidence for youth. Drug take-back disposal or destruction programs. School-based or youth-focused programs or strategies that have demonstrated effectiveness in preventing drug misuse and seem likely to be effective in preventing the uptake and use of opioids. Community-based education or intervention services for families, youth, and adolescents at risk for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and any co-occurring Substance Use Disorder/Mental Health (SUD/MH) conditions. Evidence-informed programs or curricula to address mental health needs of young people who may be at risk of misusing opioids or other drugs, including emotional modulation and resilience skills. Greater access to mental health services and supports for young people, including services and supports provided by school nurses, behavioral health workers or other school staff, to address mental health needs in young people that (when not properly addressed) increase the risk of opioid or another drug misuse. B. Prevent Overdose Deaths And Other Harms (Harm Reduction)  Support efforts to prevent or reduce overdose deaths or other opioid-related harms through evidence-based or evidence-informed programs or strategies that may include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide increased availability and distribution of naloxone and other drugs that treat overdoses for first responders, overdose patients, individuals with OUD and their friends and family members, schools, or community navigators and outreach workers. Training and education regarding naloxone and other drugs that treat overdoses for overdose patients, patients taking opioids, families, schools, and community support groups. Funding Information The Oregon City Budget Committee earmarked $40,000 each year. The City will distribute a total of up to $40,000 in awards, with a maximum up to $20,000. Applicants must plan to present for the general public within the City of West Hollywood or immediately adjacent (within 5 blocks of the border of West Hollywood) within the funded calendar year. The proposed project should be 1 (one) presentation per year, as opposed to a series of projects over an extended period. Organizations must be able to demonstrate artistic experience in their field, and an understanding of the unique aspects and cultural diversity of the West Hollywood community. Organizations must provide a CA Data Arts Report for the previous 2 years (2022, 2023). Organizations may not pass through the grant funding. Applicants must be the presenting party. Applicants must be a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit based in Los Angeles County. Applicants may only receive funding from one grant category each calendar year. If the applicant is already receiving funding from another City Division or Department, or is cosponsored by a City Council office, they are not eligible for an Arts Grant for that same project or program.
