This program provides financial assistance to rural fire departments with populations of 10,000 or less for training and essential equipment to improve fire prevention and response efforts.

Florida Humanities invites public libraries and library systems to apply for funding to host English for Families, a multi-week series of interactive classes for adults and children (ages 6-12) that focuses on developing English vocabulary and literacy skills through strategic and fun story reading. The program can be delivered either in-person or via a virtual platform. Selected libraries will be required to host at least two series of 10 sessions each (meeting either once a week for ten weeks or twice a week for five weeks). Developed in partnership with the Orange County Library System (OCLS), English for Families is designed to specifically improve the language proficiency of individuals whose native language is not English (ESOL) by providing essential reading strategies needed for school-age children to achieve success in the classroom while also developing adults’ basic language skills.  English for Families is supported in part by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, and the National Endowment for the Arts.  Funding Information Requests may not exceed $8,000. Up to four libraries will be selected to host programming between July 2024 and May 2025. Eligibility Criteria Florida public libraries and library systems are eligible to apply. A friends group, library association, foundation, city or county government, or municipality may apply on behalf of a library or library system. Individuals, for-profit organizations, and foreign governments/organizations are not eligible for funding. Fiscal sponsors are ineligible to apply. Up to 4 libraries will be funded for 2024-2025. Program Requirements Libraries should have all of the following requirements to host the program:  A community meeting space with a projector and screen or access to a digital meeting platform to host programming  A qualified instructor and a library staff member or volunteer to facilitate programming. The instructor should be a certified English language instructor or have at least two years of professional teaching experience in literacy or similar field. The instructor can be a staff member or volunteer at the library if they have the proper qualifications. This program provides financial assistance to business owners and developers in the South Cape area of Cape Coral, Florida, to help cover site development costs for new construction or renovations, with a focus on job creation and economic growth.

The Little Haiti Revitalization Trust is launching the Small Business Grant Program to support economic growth and revitalization in Little Haiti, Miami. The Trust will oversee and facilitate the city's revitalization efforts in line with the Five-Year Consolidated Plan. The program aims to stimulate employment, business growth, and investment within the Little Haiti boundaries. Eligible businesses can receive up to $20,000 for commercial improvements or $10,000 for innovation improvements, with a match option available. Funding can be used for various commercial improvements such as lighting, roofing, signage, ADA compliance, landscaping, and more. To qualify for funding, businesses must meet specific criteria including registration with the State of Florida before January 1, 2021; possession of a City of Miami-issued Certificate of Use; current status with Business Tax Receipt payments; operation within Little Haiti boundaries; and compliance with financial obligations to the City of Miami. Preference will be given to businesses that align best with the grant program's objectives, legacy businesses operating for 7 or more years within Little Haiti boundaries, and those located in the downtown corridor on NE 2nd Ave between 54th – 71st street within Little Haiti boundaries. The Audience Access (AUD) Grant Program, administered by Francine Andersen, is a grant opportunity provided by the Miami-Dade County government. The program aims to fund arts program-related technology and services that ensure ADA compliance and programmatic access for audiences of all abilities. Examples of eligible services include American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters, captioning, audio description, Braille materials, ADA/access training, and other similar services. It is important to note that this grant program does not support entire projects/productions or major capital/facilities projects or improvements such as construction or renovation. The maximum grant request is $5,000, and funded projects will be paid on a reimbursement basis upon project completion and submission of a correct and complete final report with all required documentation. Applications must be submitted at least one month prior to the project/event start date, and applicants may apply once per fiscal year. Funding is limited and awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. Grant Opportunity: Small Business Grants Funder: City of Fort Pierce Award Details: The City of Fort Pierce is offering Small Business Grants to existing small businesses with 5 or fewer employees (including part-time employees) located in specific 'Target Areas' that are in or serve the Lincoln Park area. The grants are funded through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and can be used for the purchase of equipment, signage, or other improvements that will increase the capacity and sustainability of the business. Grant recipients can receive up to $5,000 from the City of Fort Pierce. Eligibility: Only small businesses with 5 or fewer employees (including part-time employees) are eligible to apply for this grant opportunity. Nonprofit organizations are not eligible. Applicants must attend technical assistance workshops provided by IRSC-SBDC and have a current City of Fort Pierce Business Tax Receipt (BTR) and proof of registration with the Florida Division of Corporations. Other Information: Ineligible grant purchases include salaries, rent, utilities, internet, telephone service, business inventory, taxes, postage, or debt. Grant recipients will be required to enter into a contractual agreement with the City of Fort Pierce before receiving funds. Projects must begin within 30 days following contract execution. Subrecipients are responsible for maintaining records for a minimum of five years and may be subject to inspections and monitoring by Grants Administration Staff and/or HUD.
