You must be a non-profit organization and have a current copy of your IRS Tax Exemption letter that must be included with your application. 4. Grandfather Community Foundation accepts one grant application from an organization 5. The foundation expects that any funds awarded will be used solely for the purpose set forth in the application. The Community Foundation of Burke County (CFBC) offers Community Grants to tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organizations that have programs benefiting the residents of Burke County. Grant Opportunity: Burke Youth Organized Philanthropists Program and Intent: The Burke Youth Organized Philanthropists (BYOP) is a program operating under the Community Foundation of Burke County. It was created in 2016 with the aim of engaging and empowering youth to strengthen the community. BYOP consists of high school students from Burke County and recognized homeschools who develop philanthropy skills and gain a better understanding of the needs in the county. They conduct an annual grant cycle to evaluate applications from nonprofits serving children (ages 0-18) and their families. The One North Carolina Small Business Program offers two grant opportunities for small businesses in the state. The Incentive Funds initiative provides reimbursement to qualified businesses for a portion of the costs incurred in preparing and submitting Phase I SBIR or STTR proposals to federal agencies. A pool of $400,000 is available for these preparation grants in the 2023-24 fiscal year. The Matching Funds portion of the program awards matching funds to businesses who have already received a federal Phase I SBIR or STTR award. In the current fiscal year, a pool of more than $2.4 million is available to support this class of grants. To apply for either the Incentive or Matching grant solicitations, interested organizations can visit commerce.nc.gov/grants-incentives/technology-funds/one-north-carolina-small-business-program. Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2024, or until funds have been exhausted for the program’s 2023-24 fiscal year funding cycle.

The Plus Collective (TPC) will award grants to Charlotte-area organizations serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) community. Grassroots Grants are intended to build capacity and strengthen the effectiveness of startup organizations (with or without 501(c)(3) nonprofit status) whose primary objective is to serve the Charlotte-Mecklenburg LGBTQ+ community, allowing TPC to reach organizations with unmet needs that fall outside of the current Basic Operating and Programs, Projects, and Events (PPE) Grant parameters.
