Program: Housing Repair Program Funder: City of Federal Way Award Details: The Housing Repair Program offers financial assistance to lower-income homeowners in the City of Federal Way. Eligible homeowners can receive up to $20,000 per property for urgent repairs that are necessary to ensure the health and safety of residents. For owned manufactured homes on leased land, the maximum amount available is up to 50% of the home's value, not exceeding $5,000. The program is funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Eligibility: To qualify for assistance, applicants must be owner-occupants of a single-family or mobile home within the municipal boundaries of the City of Federal Way. Their gross annual income should not exceed 80% of the King County Area Median Income (AMI), adjusted for household size. Applicants must provide proof of homeownership, current homeowners insurance, and being current on property taxes and mortgage payments. Certain improvements may be ineligible or beyond the scope of the program and may be referred to additional partners. City of San Marcos Minority Business Stabilization Fund (Texas) - The City of San Marcos is offering minority entrepreneurs and small business owners within corporate city limits the opportunity to apply for the Minority Business Stabilization Fund Program. This one-time grant assistance program, funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), provides direct aid to minority-owned businesses in San Marcos. Grant amounts range from $1,000 to $10,000 based on the number of full-time employees and can be used for eligible expenses such as physical improvements, equipment, e-commerce expansion costs, rent, payroll, and operating expenses. In addition to design criteria, the Planning Division will determine if the use of the building conforms to the use requirements for the zoning district in which the property is located. Furthermore, the application must submit their proposed renovations to the JCDA and receive approval prior to commencing the renovations. The level of funding for each grant will be based upon the availability of funds and the impact of the project upon the Redevelopment District. Eligible properties will be considered for reimbursement at 50% of the costs of renovations associated with eligible facade improvements to the primary facade of the building and 25% of the costs of renovations on side of the buildings that are street facing. Re-imbursement will be capped at $10,000 per application for eligible facade improvements to single-faced buildings. For buildings with multiple street facing facades, up to an additional $5,000 may be awarded. Larger grants may be awarded for projects that show substantial economic impact, including job creation and sales tax generation in the downtown area. Grants will be evaluated and awarded on a case-by-case basis and may be denied for any reason. The Summer Meals Capacity-Building Mini-Grants program seeks to increase the number of children and youth in the City of Rochester receiving summer meals and the number of days meals are served.
