Ohio Community Development Grants

The Ohio Meat Processing Grant Program, initially established by House Bill 110 of the 134th Ohio General Assembly and further funded by House Bill 33 of the 135th General Assembly, is designed to support Ohio livestock and poultry producers. This program offers grants up to $500,000 to assist in the improvement and expansion of meat harvesting/processing services. These grants aim to enhance processing efficiency and support the expansion or construction of facilities on existing sites. Administered by the Ohio Department of Development, eligible businesses must be for-profit entities operating a Federal or State registered meat harvesting/processing facility in Ohio as of July 1, 2023. The OneOhio Recovery Foundation’s first round of grants will be awarded to eligible organizations that apply and are selected for funding by one of the 19 OneOhio Regions. The Brownfield Remediation Program for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 aims to award grants for the remediation of brownfield sites across Ohio, focusing on the removal of hazardous substances or petroleum to facilitate economic development. The program targets industrial, commercial, or institutional properties, including acquisition, demolition, and necessary infrastructure installation or upgrade for economic activity. Funding of nearly $350 million is available, with $175 million allocated for each fiscal year, including a $1 million set-aside for each of Ohio's 88 counties, with the remainder available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Wyandot County Community Foundation Grants Program supports organizations that meet the educational, cultural, health, social service, recreational, and economic development needs of Wyandot County in Ohio. Grant recipients will be required to sign a Grant Agreement Contract before disbursement of funds and must provide proof of purchase for the designated purpose within six months of grant distribution. Stark Community Foundation and its family of donors help improve the lives of area residents by providing Community Responsive Grants to local organizations in support of community-based programs and services. Stark County native and activist Craig Covey has dedicated his life to advocating for marginalized communities. Now, he’s awarding non-discrimination grants to local organizations as a way to continue to support racial, cultural and sexual minorities in our community. Through the recently established Craig Covey LGBT and Diversity Pride Fund at Stark Community Foundation, he plans to award $5,000 to Stark County nonprofits that have or plan to adopt non-discrimination clauses in their staff, board, volunteer and program policies. “A community that recognizes and embraces the diversity of its people is a stronger and more attractive and interesting community.
