Oregon Community Development Grants

The LIFE Center Fund, administered by the Oregon Community Foundation, provides two-year grants to organizations in North, Northeast, and Southeast Portland that assist individuals in critical need. The grants, ranging from $7,500 to $10,000 per year, support the provision of food, clothing, household items, prescription and hygiene assistance, and school supplies. Eligible organizations must be tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3), and proposals from organizations outside Portland city limits are accepted if they allocate grant funds for residents in the specified areas. Priority is given to applications that align with the mission of the LIFE Center Fund, demonstrate a clear impact, and have not received funding in the previous grant year. The use of fiscal sponsors is permitted, subject to certain conditions. The application process requires the completion of forms and the submission of various attachments, including project budgets, board member information, financial statements, and supporting letters. City of Beaverton Small Project Grants 2023-2024 Oregon: The City of Beaverton is offering Small Project Grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 to support new or urgent projects, with a focus on emerging artists, BIPOC and LGBTQ artists, students, and organizations new to grant-making. The program aims to promote cultural diversity, community collaboration, economic vitality, creativity and innovation, community identity and heritage preservation, and public spaces that promote health and wellbeing. Eligible expenses include planning and personnel costs, professional services, materials and supplies, and maintenance. The grant aims to support individuals or organizations with needs not met by traditional funding programs, including studio, office, or venue rental; staff support; discreet projects; and strategic planning efforts. The program's goals align with Beaverton's Community Vision and prioritize cultural diversity, social equity, community collaboration, economic vitality, creativity and innovation, community identity and heritage preservation, and public space promotion. Funding requests may be up to $2,500 per applicant. Eligible applicants include individual artists, artist collectives, curators or arts administrators; non-profit organizations offering arts and culture programming; school groups within the city of Beaverton; and individual students. This funding opportunity provides up to $5,000 to non-profit organizations in Portland for projects that address climate change while promoting racial and social justice.

The Portland Office of Violence Prevention's 2024-2025 Safer Portland Grant is an opportunity to help reduce gun violence through community-based prevention efforts. Who should apply? The 2024-2025 grant prioritizes efforts in the following Portland neighborhoods, including: Cully; Hazelwood; Eliot; Powellhurst-Gilbert; and/or Areas known for high rates of gun violence. Applicants supporting efforts in all neighborhoods, even those outside the priority areas, are encouraged to apply. We encourage organizations that serve culturally specific communities, women and female identifying communities, African Immigrant/Refugee communities, and the LGBTQIA+ community to apply. What programs are supported by the grant? Examples of programs and activities that can be supported through this grant include: Preventative programs, workshops, camps, and events; Flexible funds for direct community assistance and services; Youth and adult mediation and mentoring programs; Arts and culture or recreational violence preventative programs; Aftercare support funds for families of victims; and Capacity building in small contractors to provide services. How much funding is available? A total of $500,000 is available. Organizations can apply for up to $100,000. Grant awards may vary based on the scope of work and number of community members served.
